Is FCT a state or not a state? If its a state, it should have the attributes of a state. Why are we complicating things in Nigeria? FCT is given a status just like some US states with higher electoral college votes than others. Eg California rtdCivilservant: Oga u talked about common sense, but u have failed to apply it... Why on earth will anyone that is sane think fct vote is superior to any other state? What is wrong with some people in this country? If Abuja's vote becomes superior to other state, then where is our democracy which preaches equity, that everyone's vote is equal? What system of government do we call that? |

You know INEC is a fraud and that they intentionally shutdown the IREV but you know why no govt institution work? Because we make excuses for them. If you create an avenue to revert back to the old system if the new one fails, the new one will never work if it will affect powerful persons. Obi and Tinubu are not comparable interms of uprightness. Tinubu is not liked because he is super corrupt and shady. If you mention Obasanjo, tell me if he doesn't have more Igbo supporters than Yorubas yoruboid: Yorubas are still the least tribalistic Nigerians.
I remember when Turai Yar Adua was trying to sideline Jonathan it was the Yorubas that fought for him.
Today Obi has more Yoruba supporters than Tinubu has Igbo supporters. And Obi’s Yoruba supporters are even more passionate than his Igbo supporters.
Obi had more votes in Yorubaland than he did in the north but then it’s the Yorubas that Igbos have decided to consider their enemies.
Regardless of what you think of Obi vs Tinubu, people can choose to support any candidate they want and you have no right to adduce it to tribalism. |
Politics › Re: Ten Reasons Why Nigeria Will Never Ever Work by DMerciful(m): 1:48pm On Sep 07, 2023 |
Absolutely. A country where corruption is over 90% cannot work Germannig: Copied: Ten reasons why Nigeria will never ever work (yes, you heard me, I mean never ever). 1. The average citizens are only slightly different than their leaders. What Tinubu did with the judiciary yesterday, the average Nigerian would do at his own level. For most, it's a matter of the right opportunity to unleash their own interests. That's why many are happy or indifferent with the verdict. 2. Nigerians are the most tribalistic people on earth. In this case of Tinubu vs Atiku vs Obi, the Yoruba have championed tribalism and taken it to the rooftop. In other cases it is others, such as with the Fulani and Buhari in the last 8 years. Tribalism precludes rational thinking 3. Nigerians are religious fanatics. This is absolutely worse with the Muslims than with others. Religious fanaticism precludes rational thinking. No Need for further discussion on this. 4. The average Nigerian is mentally convoluted. They reason with their stomach, rather than with their brain. This is why politicians manipulate their greed, which surprisingly runs so shallow they could be manipulated with a mere $1 (N1000) bribery. It's called stomach infrastructure 5. The average Nigerian is impoverished. This is a deliberate state-sponsored ploy by leaders to perpetuate point 4 above. 6. The average Nigerian is grossly uneducated in the civic matters that anchor or foundation nation building 7. Nigerians, both rich and poor, are me-first driven. There is no collective with them. Societies that work must be collective. 8. Nigerians are very fleeting, ephemeral, and complacent. A combination of these 3 qualities means weak foundations. Any surprises nothing works in Nigeria? 9. Nigerians lack political ideologies. That's why politicians run from one party to another. 10. One of the worst of all, because this speaks to the quality of the individual humans. A lot of Nigerians lack the mental capacity to discern issues. That's why they are easily the most brainwashed people on earth. They are brainwashed with just about anything: religion, tribe, culture, politics, tokenism, peer factor, fake speech, social media, etc
Bonus point: 11. The Nigerian constitution is warped. That's why the judiciary comes up with different verdicts for similar cases. This creates the notion that Nigeria is a lawless country where some are above the law. |

Yes but IREV must happen immediately after counting at the polling units. Is this too much to ask? BreconHills: You need two things for that
1. A new voting device 2. Amendment of the electoral act especially where it related to the EC series documention and their processes.
Until then you have automatic accrediting, manual voting, manual recording and manual collation and finally e -display on irev.
It's very simple to understand. |

No need to read your shortsightedness sukkot: So in life they say believe half of what you see or hear. They also say the world is a stage and we are all actors.
So we all know how if not for the dissenting diversion of Peter obi away from PDP that party which would have flawlessly and easily won that election was splintered as obi took away all the southern supporters of the party thereby rendering the strongest contender , PDP, now incapacitated and weakened. It was an act of saboteur of epic proportions. It’s like a colossus crumbling from within. And I studied this and somehow knew Peter obi did not have the clout to pull off what he did. He just does not have that clout. There is no way a Peter obi can saunter into an established party like the labor party and just take over. It’s impossible. There is a mastermind behind him pulling all the buttons. Who stands to gain from this arrangement of him diverting all the Igbo and south south votes of PDP ? The mastermind Tinubu. And so the plan was hatched and flawlessly executed
After the plan was flawlessly executed and the deed was done I saw obi screaming for his lost mandate and seeking redress at the tribunal and this confused me. Was I wrong about he and tinubu concocting this whole scheme ? He seems genuinely aggrieved about losing his lost mandate. I was very confused. But then everrtthing clicked for me today after viewing Aisha yesufus post today saying we need more funds from our donators and we are going to the Supreme Court. It all fell into place. The arrangement he has with tinubu in return for what he did for him is that he has to have a way to legitimately launder and keep all the billions of Nairas donated by obedients and stopping abruptly after the loss would have caused the obedients to ask what is happening to all the money we donated ? And so tinubu has allowed them to do this charade as a return favor and that’s why they have damn near 100 lawyers etc lol. They are using this charade to launder the obedients funds and yes guys get ready for another round of SUPREME COURT malarkey because those billions of Naira have to be spent to zero. Aisha yesufu will buy 10 mansions when this whole charade is over

We actually want to waste our time and resources. We also want the judgement to be set as precedence and there's no better place for precedence to be set good or bad. We want the Supreme Court to say INEC can change the mode of transmission during election. We want them to say Thuvb drug case was targeting his accounts and not him We want them to say Guinean citizenship was not included initially We want them to say IREV and electronic transmission is optional We want them to say you can forge your certificate We want them to say a political party cannot sue another whether pre or post election We want them to say even if you supply INEC certify true copies, you still need polling unit witness and EC8s tendered We want them to say you must prove polling unit by polling unit upto 100 thousand even if you have 2 months. Once the Supreme Court upholds these dangerous precedence, then we can rest but we will not rest before then! Parachoko: On what basis will the Supreme Court remove Asiwaju?
