Nigeria will be a better place if for every revamped warehouses along Lagos-Ibadan expressway now turned churches/miracle centers/holy mountain centers, there is an equal number being revamped as manufacturing companies and actually providing employment for the congregation of these churches. |

In their warped mind they be like:
Why can't I have rich Dad like the OP Why don't my Dad know all these rich people and politicians Why can't I get a guy as good as the OP Why can't my family home be this grand Why can't my siblings look this good Why must the OP look this good God na only this OP, wey my own blessing

"Stealing, stealing, stealing, Stealing, stealing. Stealing in the name of the Lord.
My father's house of worship, Has become a den of thieves; Stealing in the name of the Lord.
They fed our mothers with sour grapes, And set our teeth on edge; Stealing in the name of the Lord.
Strike the hammer of justice, And set my people free, Strike the hammer of justice, Or let my people be.
They tell us of a heaven, Where milk and honey flow; Stealing in the name of the Lord.
They said this place called heaven; The rich man cannot go. Stealing in the name of the Lord.
Yet the reverend drives a fancy car, Buys everything tax-free, The people have to sacrifice; To give in charity.
My father's house of worship, Has become a den of thieves; Stealing in the name of the Lord "

Corporate sponsorship for a solid NYSC application portal should cover the build and maintenance costs, and the company in turn benefitting from a highly visible national project reference - a win-win either ways. 800 million what? Nairaland General › Re: Nairaland Is Back!!! by dnative(m): 10:20am On Jun 28, 2014 |
sevule: @ Seun
I am so disappointed with Seun's handling of the Nairaland data attack. He handled it just like any other Nigerian sole proprietor with absolutely no regard for his customers. For goodness sake what is wrong with an apology and an explanation as to what caused the outage? But instead what we have is business as usual and a blatant disregard for customer satisfaction.
And why oh why where backups of the website not taken? There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse for not taking backups in this day and age!!! Common Oga Seun that is the most basic thing a web administrator is expected to do! Attacks on web infrastructure MUST occur hence the issue of backups is NOT optional.
While my post may sound very harsh it is because I actually hold you to very high standards and it sad to know that Nairaland is being managed the same way our refineries and utilities are managed. Seun you have done a rather EXCELLENT job in bringing Nairaland to the exalted position it currently holds. Please do not destroy the work of your own hands by mismanaging Nairaland.
Points of action 1. An apology should be issued on the front page. Please do not take the millions of people that view Nairaland for granted. They are the reason Nairaland is the most visited site in Nigeria and they should not be disrespected.
2. Ensure you have a robust backup and recovery system in place. Not only should backups be taken, but they should be periodically tested to ensure that the backups are actually valid.
Please take this post as constructive criticism If Nairaland was a company where Seun was the IT manager, most likely he would have lost his job by now. No excuse for the data loss especially when he has considered and signed up to web content accelerator services such as Cloudflare. Having an hourly tried and tested backup regime should have been a no-brainer. Makes you wonder what Nairaland RTO, RPO are |

dryakson: Good day nairalanders, [url=https://www.nairaland.com/1502319/n800000-credit-alert-unknown-person] According to him, the teller is with him in USA, I returned to the bank and tell the lady all what had happened she was amazed at how my names as well as the account number is thesame except the difference of one number which is 7 in mine and 2 on his brothers own . The manager arrived and ask the depositor to scan and send the copy of the teller for verification. It was concluded that the money was for him. Presuming this is not by design to launder money on the pretext of transferring to a wrong account. May sound far-fetched but have learnt not to rule anything out. |

yettak90: Whilst this is a good thing, it's hardly "national news".
We have to stop aggrandizing every small achievement by Nigerians, just because we're looking for something to celebrate. True, First Class no be beans; but it is a small achievement in the grand scheme of things.
I think a "better" thing to celebrate would be the Nigerian researchers abroad who do more meaningful work. One of my secondary school mates (still an undergrad) recently had a paper accepted at a major conference in her field (can't drop her name as I haven't cleared this with her). At the research group where I worked last year, we had a Nigerian postdoc with a DPhil from Cambridge... and there are lots of others doing research at one level or another.
To be fair, getting a 1st from a 3yr course where they disregard your first year results isn't exactly hard.
However, I'm happy for her and I can imagine how proud her parents must be. "Better to light a candle than curse the darkness".
Actually easier and quicker to say 'well done you' and move on than this long epistle. I could be a first class undergrad, master's distinction and a phd holder here but shouldn't stop me from saying 'well done'. |

Deep Sight: You are an illiterate. Worse, you are a presumptuous illieterate. The sort of illiterate who will try to teach Phd holders how to write A - B - C. A delirious illiterate.
1. It is not a "new law." It is not even a law at all. It is a vote on an amendment - which has not passed yet because it still has to be passed by the House of Representatives, and by at least 2/3rds of all the Houses of Assembly of the States of the Federation.
2. Minors, all over the world, do not have what is called in law, "Capacity to Contract." As such, they cannot take legally binding actions. This is a simple and universal principle predicated on the recognition that minors are not of suitable maturity to be held absolutely bound by decisions in the way that full adults are.
For this reason, minors do not suffer the same penalties as adults do for crimes: even the worst crimes, such as murder. For this same reasons, Minors are not permitted to vote, to purchase alcohol, or to drive.
Now, if it is accepted that minors lack capacity to contract, how then should minors be permitted to enter into the most decisive and binding contract of all - marriage? Does the potential for undue influence of the minor elude you?
3. Following on the principle of Capacity to Contract, why should a minor be donated with rights with legal implications such as renunciation of citizenship?
4. You are a leering pedophile are you not? Obsessed with thoughts of screwing 3 year old girls, are you not? Fess up. Your condition can be treated. wa gbayi! |
