Politics › Re: Nonso Smart Okafor Rebuilds Burnt House Of A Widow, Empowers Her Financially by dnawah(m): 7:35pm On Sep 26, 2020
midascnn:
The Lawmaker representing Nnewi North in Anambra State House of Assembly, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, has rebuilt a burnt house of a widow in Umuzu Mbana Otolo Nnewi.

The widow, Mrs Eberechukwu Igwilo, a mother of five (5) lost most of her properties through a devastating fire that gutted her house which affected a major part of the house.

Handing over the rebuilt house to the widow and her children, today, Saturday, 26th July, 2020, Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, said that he was moved to build the house when he received a distress call from one of his constituents who informed him about the devastating effect of the fire that gutted the house of the poor widow.

Speaking further, the young lawmaker revealed that after his visit to the scene of the incidence, he noticed that most part of the house, including the kitchen, the toilet and bath was in a dilapidated state.

Moved to pity, Hon. Nonso Okafor said that he immediately embarked on the total renovation of the house. He started by rere-roofing the greater part of the house, installed new windows and doors, rewired the entire compound, tiled the house, re-roofed the kitchen, built a modern toilet and bath, painted the entire house, the kitchen, the toilet and bath, including the purchasing of a set of cushion chairs and a centre table, curtains, flat-screen LED TV and GOTV with a year subscription.

During the brief ceremony, the active legislator who has so far built and is building a lot of projects in his constituency, called the widow who lost her husband in 2011, and gave her cheque of One Hundred Thousand Naira to change her business of roasting corn.

While receiving the cheque, the elated widow, who could not hide her tears, thanked the lawmaker for what she described as undeserved gesture, saying that she is dumbfounded and cannot express her feelings.

On his own part, the Chairman of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) Otolo Ward 3, Barr. Donatus Ndekeli, while expressing his gratitude to the lawmaker, said that he is not surprised by the performance of Hon. Nonso Smart Okafor, noting that he is the best state lawmaker the town has produced so far.

The event which was a brief one was attended by residents of Umuzu Mbana Otolo Community.

Politics › Re: Hope Uzodimma Under More Tension As Federal High Court Sitting Approaches by dnawah(m): 4:38pm On Sep 25, 2020
Itulah:
Governnor Hope Uzodimma of Imo state is the candidate of all Progressive Congress (APC), who took fourth position in the 2019 April Gubernatorial election which was held in imo state. But something surprising happened some months after, on January 2020, the People's Democratic Party's (PDP) candidate, Governor Emeka Ihedioha who was declared winner by Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), was sacked from office by the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja.

Few months ago, The Reform and Advancement party (RAP) and it's Gubernatorial candidate, called Kingdom Okereke filed an Application challenging the Supreme Court's Judgement that brought the incumbent Governor of Imo state, Governnor Hope Uzodimma into power, from fourth position to first position.

According to The Reform and Advancement Party (RAP) and it's candidate, said APC never supported Hope Uzodimma as Uche Nwosu was the rightful candidate for All Progressive Congress, and not Hope Uzodimma who came from no where, they also alleged in the application filed that All Progressive Congress didn't do campaign for Hope Uzodimma Because they were not many of it's chieftains were not in support.

It may interest you to know that Uche Nwosu was formerly the Flag bearer of All Progressive Congress (APC), which was initiated by his Father in-law, former Governor of Imo State, Senator Rochas Anayo Okorocha, but because the former Chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole, who the then Governnor of imo state gave all his support and helped to become their Party's Chairman, thought would help him trigger his Son in-law succeeding him.

Meanwhile, many APC members opposed Rochas Okorocha's Son in-law, including Adams Oshiomole, the then National Chairman of the Party, so, Rochas Okorocha adviced his Son in-law, Uche Nwosu as he left All Progressive Congress and went to Action Alliance (AA), where he was also given a Governorship ticket.

Now, remember he was still APC candidate, and again was given another ticket from Action Alliance (AA). Then he was latter disqualified for possessing double tickets by the Federal High Court. This is actually where The Reform and Advancement Party (RAP) capitalized on and filed their application to federal High Court.

The case has been a Adjourned several times and the last time, it was adjourned till 29th September, 2020, and tension has risen again as many People's hope is high on the out come of the judgement come 29th of September between The Reform and Advancement Party (RAP) and Governor Hope Uzodimma of APC.

What is your take on this matter, do you think Governnor Hope Uzodimma is going to win this case or otherwise.

From Opera News
supreme court give, supreme court take,no gain no pain.Imo State is still for the people.

Politics › Re: Pre-paid Meter Made Easy: How To Fill The Form For Collection, And Amount To Pay by dnawah(m): 9:46pm On Sep 24, 2020
Gjrich:
The recent increase in the electricity tariff in the country has been greeted with overwhelming condemnation from most Nigerians. In fact, the planned indefinite strike organised by the NLC/TUC has been at the instance of the increases in fuel pump prices and that of electricity. Nigerians are more pained, owing to the challenges they are just gradually overcoming as a result of the pandemic. The meaning of tariff increase to most Nigerians is, paying more for darkness. This we never bargained for, in this country. In my area, we have been paying heavily to repair the twenty-year old transformer. We hardly get PHCN staff to come to our aid; but they never failed to bring their bills, every month.

But what has been a way out of this unfair treatment by the distribution companies is to opt for the pre-paid meter. With prepaid meter, you only pay for the electricity you consume. Some of their staff, who profit from disconnecting the light of those, that owe current charges are not happy with prevalence of the prepaid meter. So, some of them are out to discourage consumers from getting the meter, by making the process look so cumbersome.

Presently, a single face pre paid meter goes for 50,000 naira, while double face is sold for 90,000 naira, excluding connection cost. I just want to advise that, you should just opt for the prepaid meter. Now, it worths the struggle Feel free to ask questions or give your observations on the article.

The requirements are as follow:

(a) The owner of the property should present evidence of payment of land use charge.

(b) The owner of the property should provide means of identification.

(c) A passport photograph of the owner of the property

(d) The bill of the analogue meter must be provided.

Right now, the distribution companies are eager to install the meter, maximum of two weeks after payment. More so, the good news is that, you can clear up to 50% of the debt on your bill and you will be given the meter. The remaining 50% payment can be spread over. As you recharge, little amount will be deduct, to make up for the balance.

Politics › Re: Naira Is More Valuable Than Dollar And Pound. Ignorance Is Killing Us. Wake Up! by dnawah(m): 5:48pm On Sep 24, 2020
Biodun556:
THE VALUE OF THE NAIRA.
~Eruobodo.

A currency's value is what is can fetch those who use it as a means of exchange!

Those in America use dollars and those in the UK use pounds sterling. Emiratis use Dirhams and Indians Rupees. Nigerians therefore use the Naira.

The Naira today, is equivalent to 600 units to the GB£ and 500 units to the US$.

Though we are quick to lampoon the Naira as worthless, but let us compare how much value each of these currencies equivalents fetch their owners/holders, within their borders?

In the US, a dollar ($) may not buy you more than a small bottle of water, while N500 will buy you a pack of 12 of the same bottles of water in Nigeria!

A pound (GB£) may not buy you even a small loaf of bread in London, but in Lagos, N600 will buy you and your partner, breakfast for 2, consisting of one N250 big loaf of bread, 4 fried eggs and 2 bottles of water!

Days ago, I bought 50 pieces of medium sized oranges from the Ketu fruit market for N1,000, that's just $2! I bought 3 pineapples for N500 ($1)!

A litre of fuel costs N160 in Lagos, but cost $0.86 (N430) in New York! While I know people who pay cad1,700 (N500,000) per month for their glorified room and parlour self-contained in Ottawa, that is what a friend pays in 6 months, for a 2 bedroom apartment, with separate toilet, bathroom and proper kitchen, in Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi!

So why do Nigerians make so much noise over the value of their currency, when it still fetches them more value than the other currencies that they pitch the Naira against? The answer is simple: the "values" of Nigerians!

While Nigerians reacted with consternation at Dino Melaye's obnoxious display of his stolen wealth, the average Nigerian behaves exactly like Dino Melaye! From the man on the streets to the Churchpreneurs who claim to represent God!

They produce nothing, but want to flaunt everything!

Someone lamented to me about his wife's tenant, who has failed to pay N120,000 rent, for nearly a year, but slaughtered a ram and made festivities, worth N150,000, during the last Moslem "Ileya" festival!
Ask me what the man produces? Zilch!

Had this same debtor taken the N150,000, wasted on the one day feasting to the market, it will be more than enough to set up a fried Yam, sweet potatoes, Akara business, that can net him N300,000 monthly, and take him out of poverty and debt forever!

So, because Nigerians are unproductive at home, but consume from used clothes, to fake hair and eye lashes, to even PMS, from the abroad, they keep whining about the value of the dollar/pound-sterling against their currency.

There are universities in Nigeria, and I had my education entirely in Nigeria! So, if I chose to send my children abroad, what is the headache of the government in my personal decision, should the currency in their country of choice proves unaffordable to me? Who send me?

My personal definition of the problem with Nigeria is that, the policies of the State are manipulated to suit the indulgences of certain classes of Nigerians, who feed fat on the miseries of the masses.

Government resorted to importing fuel because some privileged Nigerians criminally destroyed our refining capacities. Rather than punish them, we put the punishment on Nigerians.

Government "subsidized" the same imported fuel, to create artificial opportunities for some privileged people to loot our treasury, under the artificially created system of "subsidies".

These Nigerians and their fraudulent economists should stop fooling themselves about the poor exchange rates of the nation's currency. 95% of the citizens of this country need food, water, Medicare, etc, obtainable in Naira!

If some useless, lecherous and unproductive, yet entitled, vanity flaunting elements like Dino Melaye, need foreign currencies to feed their insanity, what has that got to do with Nigeria?

If you want to indulge in the zero nutrition Orange, imported from wherever and sold at times ten that of super tasting Oranges from Benue, must Nigeria care about your price plight? Who send you?

If you chose Pizza over Aboki freshly cooked spicy bread and eggs, please find enough Naira to indulge in your borrowed Italian taste. #KokanAye!

This argument over our poor currency is a lie of the elite to pass their problems as everyone's!

Days ago, I made a 4 litre bowl of cooked beans (enough to feed at least 8 adults) from a N200 ($0:40) measure of beans! Add another N500 ($1) worth of sweet potatoes, and you have a super nutritious meal for 8 adults!

That's less than $3 in total, N1,500 (including the costs of other stuff like onions, peppers and oil), to feed 8 adults?

Before you complain that the Naira is weak, tell me what you need the foreign currencies for, and #Eruobodo will show you how you and Dino Melaye are related!
to me the value of money is wat it can get for the people using it locally and internationally.and also it demand internationally

SecretSpy666:
Greetings Nairalanders,
I want to seek for you peoples opinions regarding my family challenges.

I'm from a broken home. My parents divorced when I was a child of two years. I'm the only child from their union. My father and mother abandoned me and remarried to other spouse each. I passed through hell growing up with relatives who insulted me with all kinds of names and I was treated like a slave to their own children.

Because of public outcry about my dehumanizing treatment, my father came to village and took me to the city. It was from fry pan to fire experience as my father's new wife was maltreating me. At a point, my father asked me to leave his house that since my arrival, he don't have peace with his wife.

I packed to the house of a relative and work in a block industry to help myself. Most times, I slept in a CAC church close to the relative house as the two-room apartment is not enough for his family. My mother never care if I was alive. She never call me nor reply to letter I sent through someone to her. I continued working in the block industry and started a part time programme. I completed the part time programme and did my NYSC and master degree. I got a job with University of Ado Ekiti with the help of a course mate, managing myself now and surprisingly my mother and father started calling me often.

Both of them have 6 children each with their respective second spouse. Mother want his son to come and live with me, I refused and my father too have been requesting for financial assistance which I also refused. I don't want to have anything to do with both of them. My father's daughter recently called me to help her with school fees, I bluntly told her to ask her mother what she did to me and caught the call. Since then, she never call.

I'm alone and have just two friends. I don't have family. All of them calling now are just looking for what to get from me, not that they care about me. My mother never call me once to ask about my welfare even when I sent my phone number to her through her relative. I wrote WAEC, completed degree course before she started calling me and it is only to request for one thing or other. I'm planning to get married without telling them and build a separate family.

TimiAkinno:
Kaduna – A man has dragged his three children, ages 6, 8 and 10, to a Court in Kaduna for peeping through the door keyhole late in the night while he and his wife, who is the children’s mother, were having a nightly affair.

The man, Ramadu Langido, 38, became extremely furious when he started hearing his children giggling at the door when he was at the peak of his pleasure. The sharp interruption from the children caused his libido to suddenly diminish.

According to the man, his children didn’t show an iota of respect for him and his wife for them to have invaded on their privacy while they were doing the work they were commissioned to do.

The man told the court to sentence his children. He said, “I want to appeal to the court to help me sentence the children to some days imprisonment for seeing what they shouldn’t have seen. They have disrespected me and their mother, and they most pay dearly for it.”

Hello everyone, I'm a 24 year old guy and there is this nice lady I met two months back and ever since then, I've really been happy. Truth is we aren't in a relationship yet but have spoken about our feelings for each other.

I really planned on settling down with her and likewise her but something happened today that got me in a state of dilemma. So she had to talk to her ex because of something really important and all of a sudden, she told me she still has feelings for him deep down and talking to him after a year of breakup has brought it all back and hopes that they'll be together someday... I was like "Am I dreaming?" (I said that within me).

She went on and on and I immediately started shaking like literally. I couldn't speak for a while and she noticed nothing at all. I'm really dumbfounded right now. Her ex was even the one that broke up with her... Why are girls really confused these days? She has told me countless times about how she feels towards me so I have no idea why this is happening all of a sudden.

I think it'll be in my best interest to cut of all ties with her because I can't face what has happened and I'll be hurting myself by deciding to remain friends with her. What do I do?

WHAT I LEARNED ABROAD – THE END OF IPOB IS NEAR

Now back in Nigeria after being in Europe since February (COVID-19 lockdown effects).

1. Kanu and his followers are seriously mistaken that “Biafra” is their own franchise. It is not!
2. Kanu is speaking only for himself not for Igbo.
3. Kanu is a fraudster taking money from gullible Igbo to enrich himself.
4. No organization of good repute will ever partner with Kanu/IPOB.
5. Kanu/IPOB doesn’t have the capacity to bring about Biafra. Igbo Self-determination will come through another platform.
6. IPOB is just a cult that worships its Supreme Leader. There is no sincerity in this cult.
7. Kanu as cult leader will increasingly use religion to hold on to his decreasing followers. His fake Judaism won’t work for long.
8. Kanu is a typical cult leader and like an emperor-dictator (Supreme Leader) makes himself accountable to nobody. There is no transparency in this cult, and secrecy surrounds the funds coerced from deceived IPOB cult members.
9. Kanu spreads hate for other ethnic nationalities so as to isolate Igbo from their SS brethren. He is living safe in Britain and will never come to Nigeria again so is making a mess for Igbos not himself.
10. Igbos and some SS people (eg Asari) have had enough of Kanu and he is going to be exposed for the fraud that he is.

NOTE: Ijele Speaks is on Facebook and YouTube. Go there and educate yourself about the criminal Kanu and his IPOB cult. Ijele Speaks has interviewed ex-IPOB members who are witnesses of the criminality in IPOB.
