Good day guys, I know it's still early but am really really sad and angry right now.

It all started when I moved in around December last year, Somehow she(my Landlady) got to know that my dad is into repairs of electrical devices.

The son approached me and asked if I can take it to for repair, which I accepted and gave them a date(after informing my dad) since he works with schedules...throughout that period they didn't say anything to me about it until after my dad traveled for Christmas.

I told him about the recent developments and he pleaded if I can take it to someone I know.

I took it to a guy close to my shop and he charged me N6,500 and in other to make things transparent I immediately called the son and told him everything, even insisted he speak to the electrician but he assured me that there's no need and if I had any money I should pay.

Two months ago I approached the son and requested they should be deducting it from my light bill which is N1000 per month and he said he'll have to discuss with the mom and she accepted.

The next month she pleaded I assist her cos she was broke and I gave her the bill for that month but made her know it will be the last, until my money is complete.

I need serious advise from experienced nairalanders, please forgive my lengthy message because it requires detailed explanations.

I lost my wife exactly 3 months ago, 4 years of relationship and 13 years of marriage with her before she passed on, she left behind 3kids, 13yr old girl 7yr and 3yr old boys. I understand marriages are full of their challenges but we have been through the journey and we came out victorious having a loving and happy home, a union other partners appreciates.

My late wife was so organized and we trainned my kids to be independent while she travels on local business trips. So I just needed to continue our family habit of buying and stocking everything at home while they manage themselves with the help of an older maid who has been part of the family for many years, in short, we are faring quite well as I continue to mourn my wife and carry on with life.

Here is the problem, from a lot of condolence messages coming in on my Facebook, I had the chance to reply some of them 2weeks ago, I met this single mother of two who invited my kids to her daughter's birthday party, i was reluctant but she said it is time to start taking the kids out since they are yet to resume school, exactly what they needed at that point was the usual outing which has been missing for a while since their mother's sickness and after her demise, approx 6months in total. She said it's not a loud party that she needed only my kids for the small sitting room party.

I decided, went to the party with the kids, it was fun for the kids, I have not seen them happy like that in a long while, it made me happy too, they fell in love with the two sisters and their mother all like a miracle, my little 3year old boy started calling her mommy, others follow and it all seem like a family reunion. We left late at night with her girls asking that they meet again the next day which was a Sunday. To cut it short, my kids and hers agreed to meet the next day except for me. To be honest, the lady is a nice and lovely person to be with, she's a realtor who can work from home, she's real and beautiful, she has been a single mother for 4yrs after her husband travelled out and abandoned them to marry another woman, that's according to her.

She called me that her kids could not allow her rest, they said if we can't come, she should bring them to our house, I mildly rejected but i was persuaded by my daughter and my first son to have them around, I could see that they have bonded quite well, I want my kids to be happy too, that's what I have always wanted for them so I agreed and gave them our address. To cut the story short, I find it impossible to separate the two families that has come together to become one, when they were leaving back to their house my kids pleaded with me to allow them go with mommy to her house, I understand that is real because she's lovely with kids. I had the confidence to trust my kids with someone for the first time in my life. They didn't want to come back, I had to go and pick them up the next day, all of them made sure they came back home with me, we started living together as a family and everyone was enjoying it.

It became an automatic affair with her, I was worried about it been too early, I had to involve few of my friends to seek opinions, some were happy that i could get a good mother for my kids this soon, others asked me to stop the family union and give it a little time to study her character. I suggested some space but she felt very bad, she thinks I am sending them away. I had to allow them stay while I use the opportunity to observe the new found love and family.

12days after, I realize that in a bid to reorganize me and help me to move ahead in life, she totally disregards anything that concerns my late wife whom I still hold dear to my heart, same as my daughter and my adopted daughter, I don't like to address her as a maid. We loved and cherished my late wife, everything she introduced seems to be strange to the norms of the family. If I try to raise my concerns for her to adjust, she will simply tell me that the dead is dead and I should just forget everything about her including whatever she stood for as a mother and wife.

If I try to talk some senses into her to make her understand that brooding over the dead is different from honouring and respecting the deseased, she gets really angry claiming I am comparing her with a dead person. Whatever she discovers as our way of doing things in the family she disregards it and replaces it with her own way without minding how we feel as a family or how easy or difficult it is for us to adjust.

It looks like we are the only ones tolerating and accommodating them here, I have tried with no avail to stop her from insulting the memory of my late wife. I discussed with each and everyone at home, they all wish I could perform a miracle to have them leave because no one can tolerate the mother and kids anymore, I am equally fed up myself and willing to take a break.

I have a friend who is aware of my problems with her, he told me that I am the problem here, he said it will be hard for any woman to fit into our family way of doing things and it will be difficult for us to cope with a different way of life introduced by another woman.

I hope I can get one or two advices that could help. I am quite confused

Nigeria seems hopeless and the humanity in Nigerians even more hopeless but there are things that happen around that point otherwise to the above assertions. While anybody can make mistake in life as there's no one above mistake, this is how my sister mistakenly lost her purse inside a taxi she boarded to the market this morning in Calabar, Cross River state. Of course, anybody would immediately become traumatized losing his/her money in such a manner and definitely, her case wasn't different as she was traumatized and devastated regarding the incident. The purse had her money (N18,500) and her cell phone inside. Luckily for her and as God would have it, a Nigerian by name Uche (just his first name) picked the purse from the taxi. He said he even showed the purse to the taxi driver and he (the taxi driver) wanted to collect the purse from him claiming he (the taxi driver) knows my sister very well and he's always been the one bringing her to the market when in reality, that's very far from the truth. Uche said it got to a point where he struggled the purse with the taxi driver as he was adamant in handing over the purse to the taxi driver and finally left with the purse. As a good Nigerian, he opened the purse and started making contacts with people on how to get to my sister to come get her purse back (obviously looks like a dream in today's Nigeria). In no time, my sister ran to me and I called her line which the phone was in the purse. Someone picked which happened to be the said Uche. He directed us to where to meet him and swiftly we went. Brothers and sisters, behold, we met Uche with his colleagues in his place of work. Everything in the purse was still intact and he handed over the purse back to my sister in the presence of his colleagues. In thanking and trying to show appreciation, Uche declined any monetary appreciation and only received the "God bless you" as we were telling him. This action of Uche has without doubts proven that all hope especially in humanity has not lost in this country. Looking at the present economic hardship in the country, some people would have rushed at this believing it's God that answered their prayer but today's case with Uche, the opposite was the case. My sister and I cannot thank him enough. This is why I want you guys to join in thanking Uche for being a sincere Nigerian and for whose act is rare to come by in today's Nigeria. On Sunday, last two weeks my mom got a bank alert notification, someone sent her 3 million naira, she wasn't expecting money from anyone.

She was shocked, she called I and my younger sister. We couldn't believe it, so we waited for three days to see if the bank will reverse the money, they didn't, so I and my sister took our mom's ATM card to withdraw and test if the money was genuine.

We bought three phones from it. That's when we believed it was real. Then I transferred #50,000 to my bank and transferred #50k into my mom's other account which we used for foodstuffs.

On the fifth day the bank froze the remaining balance of the huge money sent. But no bank official or staff called my mom. That week passed, on the 3rd day of the second week, one lady called my mom by phone in the afternoon, she said her name is Sarah from so so bank.

My mom is not literate so they spoken in pidgin, she told my mom that she knows that my mom received a #3mil last two weeks and she has spent out of it. That the money was government money. Sarah told my mom to go to any nearest ........bank and write a mandate letter authorizing the bank to unfreeze the remaining #2mil in her acct and the bank will give us the beneficiary account which she will send the money back to. And we should return the money we spent out of it immediately.

When we got to my mom's bank, we went to customer agent area, instead of writing the mandate letter, we told the agent everything that happened leaving nothing untouched. the agent said we should give him the number of the staff that called us, when he called the Sarah with his phone, Sarah gave him another name, instead of introducing herself as Sarah, she said her name is Evelyn. She now told the agent to hold my mom down till she (Evelyn) gets to that bank to arrest my mom or whatever.

The agent said on what basis would he hold my mom down. The agent checked the description when the money was sent and he couldn't understand the description. He was saying how could this be government money. He told my mom to try and return the money spent and he told us to go.

The description on the transfer when it came in on Sunday was: "National Procurement of Scanners" #3million.

Is this truly a government money?

Nairalanders what are your opinions? Because my mom is scared, Sarah or Evelyn bullied her on the phone with jail time.

Hi Good People On Nairaland. My name is Davindal. I am a 29 years old ex Nigerian soldier but now an IT Expert. I got married on September 2019 to my beautiful wife.

It all started on March 2019, 6 months after I voluntarily discharged from the Nigerian Army due to serious injuries - though I am well and currently fit.

One evening around 9:10 PM, I was strolling home from a bar not too far from my street; when suddenly, A very pretty tall and well shaped chocolate complexioned lady accosted me. The moment I noticed that someone was fast advancing on my position from the rare, I had to quickly sway my body indefensive stance. Lol and behold, it was this very beautiful lady.

I was amazed at her. She equally noticed I was terrified and at the same time curious about her intention in bouncing on me from behind. Then she said, "Brother, please, I am sorry in the manner in which I approached you. My name is Ruth, and I have a problem and I need your help now".

Hmm... I contemplated inwardly what the problem was...how could this fine girl be needing help from an ex-soldier that equally needs help so as to fix thing up. These thoughts and more roamed aggressively on my mind.

Then, I asked her what the problem was, and she told me that she is a first year student of UNN. that she lost her ATM card and hard nothing on her to buy anything basically food. She pleaded that I should just buy her food for the night.

I searched my wallet, and found only N150. Guy man don spend all the N35000 (money) wey him carry commit around 6:00 PM to go flex some bottles and also buying drinks for a few homies. Whereas, in my area 2019 a plate of food was from N300 to N400 then.

I asked her not to worry, that despite the fact I had no enough money on me that I would still buy her food. She was all smiles.

As an area, I took her to a restaurant at a distance of a pole away from where we were standing and bought her a plate of food worth N400 due to the two pieces of meat in it, and a bottle of malt. I met the madam who runs the restaurant who happens know me quite well, and promised to come pay them tomorrow.

She obliged and was even hailing me "Awua! the Awua rugged!!" maybe because of the fine babe. However, we left that restaurant around 10:15 PM.

When we got out of the restaurant she said, the gate keeper to her lodge might have locked the entrance gate. That she would need to talk to a few of her lodge mate to inform them that she was locked outside so the could call come beckon on the gatekeeper to come open the gate but the problem was zero airtime.

I said no qualms, I transferred N200 airtime to her mobile phone from my GTB account. Before me, she placed a call to a close lodge mate who then rushed to her request. We exchanged contact and she left.

Thereafter, we keep talking over the phone periodically, but I noticed she was becoming more attached, and was calling me endearing names. Contrary to her advances, I was in a relationship with another lady (who is currently my wife) before that encounter, and I didn't want to cheat.

However, I lost my phone on June 2019 hence all the contact on it. When I bought a new phone 2 days later and welcomed back my sim I have to copy a few numbers from my diary into my new phone, hence lost her number.

I moved on, even though I was not eying her for a relationship but she called one day again and we started talking again. On September 2019, I married my wife traditionally without telling this babe about it.

Shockingly, I bumped into this babe in PortHarcourt, on 15 December, 2019... didn't quite know she was the one for the only time I met her was in the night, and it was around my area at Nsukka.

When I came back, to my hotel room, I was confused for I remembered, I never told her my name, not even in the night I met her, not to talk about getting married. I Couldn't phatom how she new about these things.

Please note: I have a one year 5 months old son now, and my wife is currently pregnant.

Fast forward to this year 2021, though ever since I bumped into her in PortHarcourt on Dec. 2019 we have been talking over the phone and via WhatsApp media.

In one of my conversations with her she jokingly told me that she has a key to my stars, and that she loves me dearly and would do anything for my sake even though I am married.

Then I summoned courage to ask her how she came to that conclusion, and she said she would tell me when we meet. She asked to see me privately, I told her that I am on a contract job in Abuja, that I would be back to Enugu State in a month's time.

I later came on April 2, 2021, sneakingly met and slept with her on 15th of April in a hotel. We had a nice time. She confessed how she loves me genuinely. In that hotel, though I paid for the room before I hinted her of the location.

During our intimacy time, she ordered and paid for all we ate and drank. When she was freshening up in the bathroom, as a security conscious person I checked her bag, and discovered stash of 500 naira notes, almost up to #45000. She said that she would be revealing her parents' identities to me later on.

I told her that she never answered my question on being a Goddess, and she said she is a Goddess of wealth. That she has a gift which makes it possible that anyone she loved and blesses automatically see a brighter future, and fortune. That in my own case that she was assigned to me spiritually to make me stupendously rich such that I can help the less privileged in the world for I am kind hearted young man would doesn't abuse privileges particularly when in the military.

Issues:
Traditional is barely a week away; yet she's bleeding and scared of the future because of her discoveries:

1. The husband to be has anger issues. Ok, he's all nice and good when in good mood. But once something triggers him, all hell is let loose. The trigger can be a simple missing his call(while at work/meeting). No amount of sweet talk or explanations calms him down.

2. The shocker is that he cheats/has a fuckmate living nearby. She discovered this with evidence from their chats and hasn't been herself. The chat is detailed description of their exploits right up to the present and future plans how they'll continue after he's married. (From same chat, the other lady is aware he's getting married.
He tried denying it; when it didn't work he started making excuses/begging he'll change.

3. He doesn't want any third party intervention in their affairs, not even counseling.

She's scared of the future and yet feels stuck as court marriage is done already, most preparations have been done(publicity and most of other physical arrangements), both for the traditional and wedding.

BACKGROUND:

I had a decent job before I met her and I was responsible for all the decisions I took, which mostly led to favourable outcomes.
However when I met her and began a relationship, I wasn't having the freedom I needed. Any decision I wanted to take without her authorization always ended badly. For example there was a period I wanted to jointly rent an apartment with a male friend of mine. She strongly opposed this but I still went ahead to pay rent. Unfortunately for me, within four months my friend had some issues with landlord and we were both evicted from the apartment. (although I got compensated)

Another instance was when I got paid some bonuses from company and decided to invest in some crypto projects during their ICOs (in 2017). I did some market analysis of these crypto projects before my decision to invest, only for her to advice me against it. She said we should instead, use the money to start farming. I didn't listen to her and went ahead to invest. THE RESULT: the investment that was supposed to take me to the moon now became more worthless than tissue paper! I shed tears because of this.

I now decided to get rid of her, but all plans of mine proved abortive. The more I tried to get her out of my life, the more we were brought together. Can you believe that the day I finally proposed to her was the very same day I tried to make out with an old girlfriend?

A friend of mine went to consult an ifa priest, who told him that my fiance has a cloud of good fortunes around her. But I don't believe in those spiritual mumbo-jumbos! I was determined to leave her. This made me begin applying for jobs in other states and towns, but nothing came forth. I even went for interview/test but didn't scale through. Some weeks later, she told me that she wasn't in support of me getting job in another town (she says she was scared of losing me).

Did you know? the time I decided to remove the thoughts of leaving her from mind and fully accept her into my life, was the time that I finally got a better job in another city!

MARRIAGE
We got married in 2019 and I was of the mindset that since she may be an ogbanje, therefore things would work in my favour and I would become a millionaire very quickly, but that's not the case.

Since marriage, any decision I take without her approval always leads to disaster!
I wanted to invest in a partnership deal and told her about it but she disapproved and said I should save the money instead. I went ahead to invest and I lost 400k! Same for other decisions in the house, the outcome was always negative whenever I don't heed her advice.

I hate all this! I'm a full grown man. Why should my life be based on the decisions of a woman? I feel like I'm no longer in control of my life.
I'm about to take a car loan from my company in order to escape this constant public commute and trekking but she has vehemently disapproved, that I should instead save for another year or two before buying car. But I still won't listen to her! If the loan ends in a disaster, I have decided that I would abandon this marriage and relocate to another country. A country where voodoo and religious mumbo-jumbo do not exist, so that I can be in full control of my life!

.......PS: we have a year old baby girl. Maybe I could be sending monthly upkeep from this new country I intend to relocate to.

I just got my Visa to go to Germany. I am having cold feet making this journey. I have already told my boss I am leaving my current position.

I am yet to tell HR because of this cold feet. I have been in Qatar for 2years now and I think its best I move since I cannot marry and bring wify here.

The German company is paying for my flight and accommodation for 2 weeks but I am still having cold feet. The process is cumbersome.. I just realised I need health insurance to make this move. Where can i get such in Nigeria.
