BascoVanVeli: Highlights of the match. Great job by the girls and staff. I hope some of you guys finally see that Nigeria still makes great players in house.
JohnBullMySon: Man Utd's problem is beyond any coach now. Even Guardiola will fail there. It looks like every incoming coach is worse than the previous one.
this the kind of situation Mourinho will make something out of,
lovewins: Was gonna say the same thing. The "Adopt and Athlete" initiative isn't Date's idea. It was allegedly stolen from a private individual who was running with it. Anyways Dare adopted it, but even the individuals haven't exactly lived up to their expectations (including the Ogun State governor allegedly). I'm hopeful though that the successes recorded and the visibility athletics has gotten the last few weeks will reawaken this idea.
It first mention of that was during those championships usuallheld in Asaba abi it's warri, after the potentials shown by Blessing Okagbara and the likes, and their outcries, that move was Adopted, to Sponsor Blessing and some others from delta state,
What I don't knew is when Sunday did such, Even express Tobi had been running since during blessings time, why haven't the Ogun govt Adopt her since then,
Those politicians with their quest of scoring cheap points
JohnBullMySon: Yeah, Sunday Dare initiated the "sponsor an athlete program". Some of them are being sponsored by third party. For the men's performance, well its always been that way.
which Sunday Dare?, something that had been on ground even before the coming of this present govt
Tycyborg: You see this Nigeria will never be okay if we have citizen think like those people quoting you. They failed to see that you are on point... Where in the world would a military vehicle be stoped for mere traffic? They can't be stopped for there might be an ambush. Secondly they may be on there way for briefing or submit. Depending on the situation... Being in costal bus it means they are on official duty... That says it all and now the police claim they don't know that bus is conveying soldiers... But is it's the bus conveying oyinbo they will quickly pass it? Look at how people are defending nonesence... The police are very wrong and being a military... Most of them might be even PTE maybe just came back from warfare. But the question to people quoting you is that if it were to be just police patrol van will those traffic police stop it for traffic?
Sir, that's the reality on ground, but they are pretending not to see it
Fujiyama: ^^^ I don't have the full details of the case of the soldier on a bike you referred to. Did the police give a reason for stopping him and seizing the bike? You may want to give more info if you have it.
What is revealing is your description of the traffic stop of this lone soldier as a lack of 'respect'. That is the problem right there. This matter of 'respect' (or the lack of it) is a recurring decimal in these clashes between Nigerian soldiers and everybody else. Nigerian soldiers break laws at will and on the rare occasions they are called out, they call it 'disrespect'.
Respect is earned. It is not decreed into existence by a military court. It is earned. And respect is not a cover for condoning illegality - that is nothing but utter perversion. Respect is earned!!
Nigerian military personnel are the privileged class who routinely refuse to obey common sense laws or rules that govern everyone else. And we think this country will ever make it when an institution like the military has this ingrained mindset? Never. We won't.
You claim that the 3 police officers controlling traffic were 'disrespectful' for stopping the bus. In your words, traffic control that slows down a bus with soldiers is 'silly excuses'. Well, a man just doing his job is now dead. His family will have to face life without him now. A breadwinner, a son, possibly a father, uncle, brother, etc. gone forever. And all because Nigerian soldiers have been indoctrinated to believe they are above the law - and can take lives at will without any consequences whatsoever.
If you can't see anything wrong with all this I don't know what else to say to you.
ok, I now understand you, police stopping bike and seizing it, is not cause of crime, it's all about egunje,
Now is the soldier is humble enough to beg the policemen to free the bike, then it necessary the policemen to listen, and if the police can give a good reason for stopping the bike, the soldier won't had react the way he did
Not, it's a personal experience that happened in front of me, and if you knew how those same policemen threat those okada riders you will understand better
as for you main point RESPECT it should be reciprocated, I.e the soldier begging the policemen to consider him,
Offpointng: I happen to witness the incident, and I'd say both are at fault, there were just few cars bfr the soldier's bus which the police saw, it cost the police nothing to spare few minutes to allow the soldiers pass for sake of peace bfr stopping other cars, they might have been on orders and late coming is always punished in the military. And when they came down in rage to question the policemen, police men to were showing power and superiority hence reasons for the damages
The Soldiers were wrong to beat them and the Government also got greater blame for not fixing traffic light, in a saner clime the duty of Traffic Police is to ensure traffic light are obeyed strictly but this is 9ja
I agreed with you, but the police are at Greater fault here, I had witnessed such stands off time and again, And as always it was started by the police and their overzealousness,
A lone soldier was on his way to work, and seems to be running late, a young guy at that, now he board a bike as a fast means to get to work, police stop bike, ask soldier to dismount, ( no respect, ) and proceeded to seize the bike after pleading with the police to consider him, and return the bike keys, it falls on deft ears, and the police even insulted him,
That's when to soldier lost it, it took begging from the most senior police among them to calm him down,
those three officers are disrespectful, a coaster bus, containing soldiers cannot be stopped for such silly excuses, it's and insult, even after the soldiers came down, they should have at least allowed them to pass thru
jumper524: People preying on media sentiment to commit crime. You broke traffic rule and your claiming right. It's not the police that need retraining it's you that needs koboko. If na USA you dey you fit try am?
this not not just breaking law again, that BRT Lane should never had been there, or better still a whole new road be constructed for them, carving that lane out of two aside road, even when motorized, are burdened with traffic holdups, now they most make do with just 2 lanes, that's bad
Boko Haram attacks started during GEJ and it lasted for more then 24hrs so he sponsors Boko Haram same as the former and present governors in the Northeast.
you wanna tried justify something right
sorry to disappoint you, the govt that start boko are the northern Governors, with bubu as their figurehead, and yet Gej nearly finished them off,
but the north got loud, even saying an offensive against boko, is an offensive against the north,
3ple9iner: Ok let me agree with you he said so.
But wait Jonathan also has a hand in Boko Haram same as Buhari
Same way Yaradua also has a hand in Niger Delta militants same as Obasanjo.
I think this is fair enough.
oga take your time, don't ever o mean ever involve GEJ in anything Boko haram
isan: Face reality and stop being emotional, we don't have the program to compete with elite team in the world right now only talent is not enough, in the last 2 years we have been on the right track by playing high grade friendlies but we still have a long way to go after the world cup waldrum needs to be sack as i believe waldrum has reached his limit with the team NFF need to hire another coach with good credentials not Omagbemi or dedevbo that hasn't Coach any team in the last 6 years
bros just let him be, sometimes I wonder if he loves in naija atall
that program you talked about, is one of the reason why waldrum is there, I had a feeling the Nff, came to a compromise with him to have have him coached the SF, while still working in the US
robosky02: Amajuj should hire this lady for super falcons coaching job
Its not that he can't hire her, Three things can be taken into consideration,
1. Our football structure as presently constituted is an hindering block to progress, even if the New Nff boss had better plans,
the problem ( state FA, whom are mostly politicians)
2. The Gov, through the sport ministry, had always look for ways, and always will, to interfere, and rope in the Nff president and board, worst is putting their own preferer candidate there,
I. e, Pinnick against Dalung and Giwa, And to some extent now Sunday Dare,
3. Sponsors, running cost, funding, and the failing naira rates,
lovewins: This will probably be the last time I engage you. The beauty of platforms like this is we can have differing views, but we have the opportunity to debate them. At th crux of it, we know we all want a better football house and a better Nigeria. But when you engage with pedestrian comments like this, when you could just have aired you contrary view, it shows the kind of person you her really.
Like I said, last time I'll be engaging you, not worth the time.
The person I am Reality,
The reasons I aired what I aired, is the persistent call for the sack of Randy, and calling out the Nff,
Sack and started from the ground again, are you not tired of it , how sure are you that the next coach will work with same set of players,
I can go on and on, bit I rest my case, since you cho6the honourable part of knowing the kinda person I am,
lovewins: Can we stop this bare minimum approach? It hasn't helped us as Nigerians. What metric exactly did you use to determine that the falcons have been "treated better"? My point is, there should be an objective metric to judge performances not "he did better than the last one". That's how Nigeria got Buhari, bare minimum.
Also consider that no one has served this long as NFF president like Amaju, also worth mentioning is that fact that his administration has been largely free from the normal internal crises the NFF is known by. So he didn't just have the time, he also had the right ambience to bring about change like no one else.
This we do know, the girls are still being owed bonuses and allowances. How is that any better?
Thing is you should go and sack pinnick and Randy yourself, finito
