what section of our constitution are you quoting?

It is for the reason of accountability and probity as well as guide against corruption,in the public service, every public servant is expected to fill the CC form as at when due. By extension, the CCB/,CCT were established to investigate and try any infractions thereof. The CCT/CCB are products of the constitution.

proof of what exactly? he has not been charged with stealing has He? he is being accused of failing to declare his assets something Buhari is also guilty of

When a public servant has more than his legitimate earnings as savings or investment, he is expected to account for it.

so give him a new form to update and let the EFCC investigate the sources of those funds conclusively and prove they are proceeds of corruption ..I hope you know there is no judge in the supreme court that doesn't have up to a billion Naira somewhere..

In a criminal case does the onus of prove lie with the prosecution?

You can as well ask why Onnoghen postponed the meeting of the NJC indefinitely? Was the postponement for selfish interest or for the interest of the judiciary? Every action of the president so far whether right or wrong lies within the ambit of constitutional provisions.

Have you read the CCB act? The CJN did not violate any provisions of the act by admitting his mistake.

Pa Chuks when will you learn from history? All your
chest beating permutations have all collapsed before you. I told you before that there are many ways the govt can deal with the CJN not necessarily sacking him. The CJN is faced with two infractions. First, not declaring his assets, second criminal acquisition of wealth well in excess of his legitimate earnings. Invariably, his trial may last till 2022 when he is due for retirement.

Buhari hatred for Ndigbo is legendary. So in the south east only a community road will be fixed whereas in other regions long distance roads will be fixed

I am equally surprised but cannot attribute it to any hatred. How can he hate the SE? Until one sees the criteria used a conclusion cannot be drawn. Know that the private companies will definitely have a tremendous bearing on the whole issue.

This is done in order to bypass the hyenas in National Assembly who know not nothing except to pad the budget and replace national strategic project with illegal constituency projects which can not be monitored or probed.

Very good observation. Hope they have it in mind.

Dangote, Unilever, NLNG, Three Other Investors To Construct 19 Federal Roads

Zainab Ahmed, Nigeria's Minister of Finance, revealed this in a statement, adding that she will head a-13 man committee on various road and bridge projects under the pilot scheme.

Arising from President Muhammadu Buhari’s signing of the Executive Order 007, six investors will construct 19 federal roads across 11 states in Nigeria.

The road project will span a total of 794.4km across the six geopolitical zones in the country.

Zainab Ahmed, Nigeria's Minister of Finance, revealed this in a statement, adding that she will head a-13 man committee on various road and bridge projects under the pilot scheme.

The investors are Dangote Industries Plc; Lafarge Africa Plc; Unilever Nigeria Plc; Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc; Nigeria LNG Limited and China Road and Bridge Corporation Nigeria Limited.

Ahmed said the government is looking for interested investors and the country will give tax holidays to companies who invest in the country.

“Our intention is for there to be at least one significant eligible road project underway in every state of the federation within the first year of the operation of this scheme," she said.

Ahmed noted that once approved, the eligible road projects will be published in an official gazette, and modalities would be agreed upon with the investors to accelerate the implementation of the projects, the verification of eligible project costs, as well as the issuance of tax credit certificates to the Investors.

The first set of road projects under the Executive order 007 2019 are: Construction of Ashaka-Bajoga highway in Gombe State; reconstruction of Dikwa-Gambaru Ngala road in Borno State; reconstruction of Bama-Banki road in Borno State; Rehabilitation of Sharada road in Kano State; rehabilitation of Nnamdi Azikiwe Expressway/Bypass in Kaduna State; reconstruction of Birnin Gwari expressway in Kaduna State; reconstruction of Birnin Gwari – Dansadau Road in Kaduna State; reconstruction of Makurdi-Yandev-Gboko road in Benue State; reconstruction of Zone Roundabout-House of Assembly road in Benue State.

Others are reconstruction of Obajana-Kabba road in Kogi State; reconstruction of Ekuku-Idoma-Obehira road in Kogi State; construction of Adavi Eba-Ikuehi-Obeiba-Obokore Road in Kogi State; rehabilitation of Lokoja-Ganaja road in Kogi State; Ofeme community road network and bridges in Abia State; rehabilitation of Obele-Ilaro-Papalanto-Shagamu Road in Ogun State; reconstruction of Sokoto road in Ogun State; reconstruction of Apapa-Oshodi-Oworonshoki-Ojota road in Lagos State; construction of Bodo-Bonny road and bridges across Opobo Channel in Rivers State; and rehabilitation of Benin City – Asaba road in Edo State

Onnoghen is not been tried on a criminal case. No body is disputing how he got monies in his account, if not you would have had EFCC and ICPC gruelling him.

The case is about a mere declaration of asset.

APC and their devilish croonies are trying to turn in around into a criminal case which it isn't.

When in 2015 Osibanjo a mere judge in a,state declared almost $1 million in his bank account, how come nobody questioned how he got them?

The CCT trial is not a corruption trial.

Wake up dude. Reggae n blues are not played together. One after the other. Criminal prosecution will follow later if he is found guilty on this one.

By Johnbosco Agbakwuru

The Federal Government Saturday night reiterated its commitment to conduct a free, fair and credible election and vowed not to allow external interference in the forthcoming elections.

The Federal Government in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu also noted that the government has given to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, all it needed to conduct free and credible elections.

According to the statement, “The Federal Government welcomes the prevailing keen interest and partnerships for successful elections in, and a peaceful Nigeria.

“However, we reject any interference or perception management that promotes apprehension, citizens distrust or undermines the transparency and acceptability of the outcomes of our electoral process.

“Nigeria reserves the right to be insulated from suggestions and or interference with respect to wholly internal affairs and commends international laws, customs and norms that mandate and require nations and the comity to respect this prerogative to all.

“Nigeria is confident of its electoral processes and her preparation for the imminent elections and the federal government has supported the independent electoral umpire in both its independence and resources needed to accomplish our desire and insistence on free and fair elections.

“In addition, the Federal government has ensured the independence of all organs, institutions and arms of government to perform their functions in a manner that is transparent and is not lacking in integrity whether institutionally or by persons within such institutions or organs and will continue to do this.

“Although the question of foreign interference, whether state sponsored ,promoted or otherwise has dominated recent elections and outcomes globally, the federal government assures citizens and the global community that it will fiercely and assiduously promote the will and the right of Nigerians to choose and elect their leaders without pressure or assistance from persons or entities that are not constitutionally empowered to participate in the process.

“Citizens are encouraged to confidently exercise their franchise in an orderly manner with the assurance of the federal government to their security during and after the electoral process as well as the readiness of the security forces to confront any plan or attempt to interfere with or disrupt the process whether by elements within or from outside the country.”

Well... the question is not out of place .... I think GEJ mainly assented to LADOL's proposal then to curry favour Tinubu/APC's support.

Some people were citing security as a concern then... that doesn't fly with me... since more huge projects are executed in the region without incidence. The outcome of the election will greatly shape how the whole issue will turn out IMO.

INTELS infractions are innumerable, bros It even forged a letter purported to be from NPA. LADOL survived INTELS onslaught because of PMB's govt.

It's just annoying seeing them masturbate on some threads claiming Atiku has already won. I'm no longer surprised though. They did more than they are doing now, in 2014/2015 yet GEJ still lost the election.

When you do an overview of the whole political scene, you can't fail to observe the choke hold Atiku and PDP are in. This is their last chance. They know that failure is not an option. Both will be politically extinguished, permanently, thereafter. So expect them to fight dirty.
