joey150:
did the bible state where they washed their robes or the great tribulation in that verse? so how then did you logically rule out the possibility that it cannot be purgatory?

do you expect every verse in the bible to be laced with purgatory?
that been said, what you stated does in no way prove or disprove purgatory.
But it is clear to us that only one group will be in Heaven: those who washed their robes in the blood of the Lamb.

Is the Blood of Jesus purgatory?

Of course, the Bible does not teach purgatory. It's a pagan belief that found its way into the apostate church. It's a lie!

Joey150, the Bible tells us that there'll be only one group of people in Heaven: "...And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb." Rev. 7:14

Their robes were not washed in the purgatory, or any other place. The blood of Jesus is sufficient for cleansing.

So, show me where the Scripture says another group will wash their robes in the purgatory and then enter Heaven.

ahn ahn..doc! all our long discussions has been about what?

you have all failed to see reason.. you say it must be stated outrightly. i gave you evidences where the bible also states thar not everything was stated in it. and where the apostles even admitted to teaching the faithfuls then traditions and teachings in epistles where they are encouraged to hold on to them.

so coming to me from the bible alone stand point is now void. that aside i also showed you more than 3 scriptures hinting at purgatory..but no u insisted to see the word PURGATORY. i agreed, but only if you show me the word BIBLE in the bible.

cheers doc! hope the aliens are doing great today
You have not shown me any place that says people will suffer before they enter Heaven because the Blood of Jesus was not enough to make them worthy of Heaven.

That's what purgatory is, right?
Christianity Etc › Re: Purgatory....Real Or Fairytale? {updated} by DoctorAlien(m): 10:16pm On May 14, 2016
The bitter truth is that some people think this is a battle about the supremacy of churches. But it's not.

In GOD's eyes, there's only one church: the church that lives strictly by His word. "One LORD, one Faith, one baptism" Eph. 4:5

Open your eyes people! This is a battle between good and evil; between Christ and Satan! Open your eyes people! Satan is trying to lull the church into a deadly sleep of forgetting GOD's word! Open your eyes people! Satan is trying to replace the Bible with fables in the Church.

The same reason why Jesus gave the Pharisees a scathing rebuke - making obscure the truth of GOD's word by traditions and commandments of men- can be seen in Christianity today.

Please, for your own good, read your Bible for yourself. You will not enter Heaven because you were a catholic or you worshipped with any denomination: you will only enter Heaven based on the relationship you have with Christ, how much you were willing to obey Him on earth.

I have said all i have to say, both in the conversations that ensued between me and people on this thread and my first sets of post.

Anyway, dear friend i will continue to correct and voice my opinions in parts of your post i dont feel comfortable with. I have said my piece on the purgatory matter for now.

So, you haven't shown me where the Bible teaches purgatory. eh?

Joey150, what do you have to say about the early Berean Christians that always searched the Scripture to see if what they were taught were there? (Acts 17:11)
Christianity Etc › Re: Purgatory....Real Or Fairytale? {updated} by DoctorAlien(m): 8:37pm On May 13, 2016
Joey150, if the purgatory is not for everybody, how is it then that in 1 Cor. 3, Paul says that every man's work shall be tested?

Read 2 Tim. 3:16. Tell me what you think.

Though you didn't answer properly my questions but I will keep my word.

Rev 12:14 And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

Was Mary given a wing to fly to the wilderness?....Yes. The eagles wings may either refer to the message of the angel to flee to egypt or it refers to egypt, whose coat of arm is the Eagle.

Was Mary fed in the wilderness for 1260 days?...Yes she was taken care of there till Herod died Matt.2:15, which was about three and half years.
Where did the Bible state that Mary was in Egypt for three and a half years? sad

Where is Joseph in the picture? Didn't Joseph fly with her to the wilderness?

Meanwhile, her child was caught up to Heaven before she flew to the wilderness: was Jesus caught up to Heaven before Mary went to Egypt?

sad

"Ye hypocrites, well did Esaias prophesy of you, saying, This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me." Matt. 15:7-8.

Mary gave birth to other children: why are you not worshipping them as "siblings of GOD"?

Hypocrites, Joseph was Mary's husband: why are you not worshipping him as "the Father of GOD"?

Hypocrites, why are you not venerating Mary's mother today as "the grandmother of GOD"?

Was John the Baptist not Jesus' cousin? Why are you not worshipping him today as the "cousin of GOD"?

Jesus is the Son of David. You hypocrites, why are you not worshipping David today as the Father of GOD? Why are you not begging David to intercede to his Son for you?

You had better start reading your Bible and forsake the fables of men.

Now here are my own questions.

1. 1Tim.3:15 calls the church the Pillar and ground of truth, are you in this church?
2. What is the name of your church.
3.Does your church teach about the "mark of the beast"?
4. prove what it is with scripture and how does it relate to analice107 who does not attend your church (and is not catholic) for example.
5. Do people go to hell and is it eternal? Prove with scripture.
6. Just say and type " Mary, mother of the son of God, you are blessed".
1. Yes, I'm in that church.

2. The remnant church, which keep the commandments of GOD and have the testimony of Jesus. Rev. 12:17; 19:10.

3. Yes.

4. The mark of the beast is the Sabbath of the beast.

5. The devil, his angels and sinners will be burned up and completely annihilated by a fire that shall not be quenched till it has consumed its victims. And hell will not be forever.

6. Mary is not the mother of GOD. Mary is a mere mortal. Nothing else.

For one who despite having to be about His father's business, yet left it and went down to Nazareth and was obedient to them Lk2:51. For one who performed his first of his miracles at her request Jn.2:11. For one who despite being in pains and about to die, still made sure she was in good hands and taken care of Jn19:27. Jesus must have indeed just been rebuking His mother anyhow, so that analice107 will be happy. Smh.
"But He answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And He stretched forth His hand toward His disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in Heaven, the same is my brother, and sister and mother." Matt. 12:48-50

There you have the real mother of Jesus.

Show me a single place in the Bible where Jesus referred to Mary as His mother.

So where does the Bible call Jesus the son of Mary?

The Bible said "a woman clothed with the sun". Was Mary clothed with the sun? Was the moon under Mary's feet?

So if GOD is the Father of Jesus, and Mary is His mother, what relationship exists between GOD and Mary? Why did you remove Joseph, Mary's husband, from the picture? Is he not Jesus' father?

Also, Jesus Christ is called the Son of David: is David the Father of GOD?

ohh really.

.explain how Lazarus could still awake after 3 days. oh was he judged and then Jesus brough him back from heaven ir hell.

or was Jesus joking around when he mentioned next world??

souls in purgatory are not spiritually dead, they are heaven bound in 1corinthians 15:29 saint paul mentions that people where baptizing for the dead or even john 11:42 where Jesus prays for the dead.
in John 11:25 and romans 8:35-38- Jesus and saint paul made it clear that even those who are dead and believe in Christ even after biological death would continue to live on.
Why are you lying? Jesus was not praying for the dead in Jn. 11:42

So, even after death, a soul can be spiritually alive? Where can this be found in the Scripture?

Did Paul say that people will go to purgatory?

Does belief in GOD guarantee salvation?

doctor alien we have dabbled about this on and on. My evidence for purgatory is clear. Read up and choose to believe or dont.

Because you are beginning to ask very petty questions now. If you dont believe that there is a place where sin can Be attoned for other than earth as Jesus and saint Paul stated. Then really i have nothing to add or subtract regarding this.

We are going in circles and its clear the rotation would be infinite judging at this rate we are going.

Just bear in mind that other than earth there is actually a place where some sins can be attoned for. If you dont, even after Jesus himself said so. Why bother read the bible at all? Since you choose which parts to follow and which not to.
So Jesus' atonement is not enough?

Explain purgatory in the light of this verse: "And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:" Heb. 9:27

secondly, souls in purgatory are heaven bound there are no damnation of souls in purgatory. one cannot make amends after THE GRAVE. if you merit Gods grace while on earth and you are not perfectly clean you will be purified before uniting with him. nobody is saying you automatically choose after death and opt for purgatory or that we should live unholy lives and aim for it in the end.

i said purification through fire. if you want a detailed encyclopedia hmmm sorry i do not have one. not everything in the bible was explained in detail.

just as it is unclear where Jesus went after his death, which was niether heaven nor hell nor earth before his accession into heaven.
that is why he had apostled who where guided by the holy spirit who did not even understand all he had thought them at that time. subsequently teachings where passed and sadly not all was in the bible.
There is no confusion whatsoever as to where Jesus went after His resurrection, because it was plainly stated in the Bible.

So, when does "purification by fire" take place?

The Bible says that if we ask GOD for forgiveness, He is able to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.(1 Jn. 1:9) If He is able to do this, how is it that there remains a sin to be cleansed by a fire?

that is all about what i can tell you about when people go there.

Lies like this are what turned some people into infidels. Lies like this presents GOD as a partial, bitter, vengeful and unforgiving Sadist.

When you tell people that even after their sins are forgiven, they have to be punished before they go to Heaven, why won't they have a distorted view of GOD?

When you encourage people to sin by telling them that they can still find a way around it and make Heaven, are you teaching GOD's word?

"But in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men" Matt. 15:9.

LOL. Some deserve purgatory while others do not? Is that what the Bible teaches?

Even the 1 Cor. 3:13 you totally misconstrued did not say "some men's work" will be passed through fire. It says "and the fire shall try EVERY man's work of what sort it is"

Now, if you claim 1 Cor. 3 is talking about purgatory, how come it says every man's work will be tried? When purgatory is not for everybody, according to you?
