Ubenedictus: Which commandment do u obey? that of Jesus or that of moses?
remember d law of moses was trasistory 2 cor 3:7, was a ministration of death, a curse and we are no longer under it.
so tell me is it d law of death or d law of grace dat u follow? Why are you beating about the bush? Which commandments was Jesus talking about in Matt. 19:17? |

Ubenedictus: Galatians 3:19 Why then the law? It was added because of transgressions, until the offspring would come to whom the promise had been made; and it was ordained through angels by a mediator.3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor until Christ came, so that we might be justified by faith. 3:25 But now that faith has come, we are no longer subject to a tutor.
d purpose of d law has been fulfilled in CHRIST. What law is now guiding your life as a Christian? |

Syncan: What that verse simply removes is the heresy that "once saved, always saved". Hence if we now agree with scripture that the believer can lose his salvation through sin, and we agree with scripture that not all sin lead to death, then what happens to the believer who died with sin not leading to death (eg. Lack of respect during prayer), for which he has not asked pardon of? That's were 1 cor 3:15 comes in, such a one will make heaven, but "so as by fire". He will be purged of those stain before entering heaven, for nothing unclean shall enter Rev.21:27 That's purgatory right there. There's only one group of people that will be in Heaven: those that washed their robes in the blood of the lamb. If somebody goes through purgatory into Heaven, what sanctified him and made him fit for Heaven? |

Syncan: Good, then was he conscious to run the race properly when he said this: But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified. 1Cor. 9:27 Why will the great St. paul be weary of being disqualified, and you are here saying you cannot be disqualified, that everything has been paid for. It means you simply are getting something wrong. I don't know how you twisted this convo into "once saved always saved". It is clearly not a Bible doctrine and I don't support it. |

Syncan: Stop confusing yourself. Those verses are in support of the fact that we have a part to play in our salvation, you didn't know this before did you? Do the verses say there is purgatory? If you say "working out your salvation" hints at purgatory (of course it doesn't), will everybody go to purgatory? |

Ubenedictus: so u dont need to 'work out ur salvation with fear and trembling'? if a person doesnt cooperate and accept the grace of God he cant be saved. Jesus said 'i stand at the door of ur heart and knock' but we are d ones who must open it frm inside.
God who created us without our consent does not save us without our cooperation. We all have a role to play, anyone who disagrees make God a liar. Is "working out our salvation" purgatory? Yes or No? |

Ubenedictus: Incase you dont know, d word 'pray' simply means to make a request, to ask, there is nothing sinful or wrong in making a request to someone.
the bible passage that confirms the honouring of mary is luke 1:48b "for behold, henceforth all generations will call me blessed" Where does the Bible ask us to make a request to Mary? Did Jesus ask us to pray to Mary or make any request from her? Is Mary able to grant you anything? |
Christianity Etc › Re: Do Catholics Really Worship Mary? by DoctorAlien(m): 12:43pm On May 16, 2016 |
Ubenedictus, these are the words of Jesus:
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matt. 5:17-19
How is it then you say we are no longer required to obey GOD's law? |

Ubenedictus, define purgatory and see if the following verses agree with the definition DoctorAlien: "But this man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of GOD;" Heb. 10:12
"For by one offering He hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified." Heb. 10:14
"And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin." Heb. 10:17-18

If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire." 1 Cor. 3:13-15.

Christianity Etc › Re: Purgatory....Real Or Fairytale? {updated} by DoctorAlien(m): 11:30pm On May 15, 2016 |
joey150: Jesus teaches us, “Come to terms with your adversary or you will be handed over to the judge and thrown into prison. You will not get out until you have paid the last penny.” The word “adversary” is likely a reference to the devil (see the name word for devil in 1 Pet. 5: who is an accuser against man (c.f. Job 1.6-12; Zech. 3.1; Rev. 12.10), and God is the judge. If we have not adequately dealt with satan and sin in this life, we will be held in a temporary state called a prison, and we won’t get out until we have satisfied our entire debt to God. This “prison” is purgatory where we will not get out until the last penny is paid. Jesus advises us to "agree" with the adversary. Are we to agree with the devil? Can the Christian and Satan agree on anything? |
