Guy, am in a good mood so i will let you off the hook, if not, i would ve taken you on ride, but what for?

No point. Enjoy your evening.
We can only pray that the veil of deception and ignorance be lifted from their eyes, and that their eyes be opened to the truth contained in the Bible, which is totally and diametrically opposed to the false teachings and practices of the Roman Catholic Church.

Nonsense as usual. Ignorant "freethinkers" on the loose again.

Hell, the portion of the wicked, is not a place. It is the destruction/annihilation by fire which GOD will visit upon those who refused to repent despite all the merciful pleas and warnings GOD gave them in a bid to turn them from sin. That destruction was prepared for Satan and his cohorts, because they proved themselves worthy only of destruction. However, everybody who is with Satan in rebellion against GOD will share Satan's fate.

As a matter of fact, that destruction will occur on this earth(Rev. 20:7-10 KJV).

We dont reject intercession of the Spirit dear friend, we accept it whole heartedly, we just ask fellow Christians in heaven to pray for us..
P.S. on saint christopher, can you prove he never existed??
Exposing the forgeries and dubious inventions of the Catholic church is a story for another day.

You can go and educate yourself on how your church baptized all the pagan gods and goddesses of Rome, giving then "Christian names", including the pagan god Bacchus("st. Christopher"wink.
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Catholics Praying To Dead Saints Biblical? by DoctorAlien(m): 5:10am On Jul 02, 2017
Praying to dead "saints" is not biblical. It is even funny when you realise that some of these "saints" never existed. The Catholic church is known for inventing dubious stories, and has admitted that, for example, "saint" Christopher never existed, but was just a fable invented to deceive their members. You now laugh when you see people praying to "saint" Christopher, or churches named "st. Christopher's" after a mythical figure.

"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." Rom. 8:26

The Holy Spirit makes intercession of the children of GOD with unutterable groanings. What can be better than that? That Divine intercession of the Holy Spirit is not deficient, and need not be supplemented with the intercession of dead "saints".

You reject the intercession of the Spirit if you insist on praying to demons in the name of saints.

Hi doctor alien.. its been a while..

i have said in my earlier post that what you condemn catholic "false doctrine" with or term as "unbiblical" is also called unbiblical by most other christians, see all the links i provided above.. P.S which one are you.. Adventist or J.W.
My identity is not as important as the fact that you need to understand that "the dead know nothing." Eccl. 9:5.

They know nothing! Whether you're praying or not, they don't know!

Why don't you embrace the truth "while it is called To day"(Heb. 3:13)?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is Catholics Praying To Dead Saints Biblical? by DoctorAlien(m): 4:47am On Jul 02, 2017
"The dead praise not the Lord." Psalms 115:17.
How can the dead intercede for you with a GOD that they do not praise?

Christianity Etc › Re: Is Catholics Praying To Dead Saints Biblical? by DoctorAlien(m): 4:42am On Jul 02, 2017
easymancfc:
Catholic teaching doesn't take them as intermediates between God and man, but just intercessors, not MEDIATORS, people who we pray together with.. and it does not rob Christ of anything because we are all members of his body (romans 12/1 cor 12)and death doesn't separate us from Christ and his body (2 cor 5, Romans 8:38)
That teaching is not from the Bible. Don't try to support the pagan practice of praying to the dead with Scripture.

"So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep." Job 14:12 How then can you claim dead people are praying for you?

"Neither have they anymore a portion for ever in anything that is done under the sun." Eccl. 9:6 I guess your prayers are not done under the sun, and that's why dead people may have so large a portion in it as intercession.

Continue praying to demons in the name of saints.

You don't get the point, about 800 years ago, there was no other form of Christianity other than Catholicism.
Because the Pope, actuated by a devilish lust for bloodletting, would hunt down and burn, behead, or hang "heretics". Anybody that didn't agree with the Catholic church was a heretic then, and was persecuted fiercely.

Even then, it is not true that Roman Catholicism was the only form of "Christianity" back then. This is particularly not true because the Catholic church is not even a Christian organization. All her teachings and doctrines are diametrically opposed to Jesus' teachings. It is common knowledge that the Roman Catholicc church slaughtered well over 150 million people during the dark ages.

Anyways, even around the 12th, 13th and 14th centuries, the Waldensians, a group of Bible-believing Christians, existed. In all the ages, GOD's merciful hand has preserved Him a group who would not bow the knee to the Baal of apostasy.

Analice107,

All the early Christians, up until about the 4th century, kept the Seventh-day Sabbath(Saturday). Even Paul himself kept the Sabbath day religiously. The argument that Paul only visited the synagogues on the Sabbath to meet Jews cannot be made because Paul was an apostle to the Gentiles, not to the Jews. (Gal. 2:7-9). A series of things led people to disregard the Sabbath of GOD. I urge you to follow the link below to find out more.

what you're saying would happen to your imaginary enemy called Satan would happen regardless of what happened to Job's sons and daughters, its not gonna be greater or lesser cuz of Job's sons and daughters, therefore the point still stands

wouldn't Job still be sad about the loss of his first children? Losing children is not exactly like losing a car. You can't just get a new one and everything's good. I mean, if I had a son or daughter who got killed, and then god said, "Hey, it's okay, here's a new one - all fixed!" it wouldn't make my loss of the first one any less, no matter how much I loved the new one
If Satan is imaginary, isn't the death of the children of Job imaginary too? Are they not recorded in the same Bible?

I'm not surprised. "Freethinkers" always present weak, puerile, disjointed arguments.

OK, well that's great and all, but things didn't work out too well for all of Job's original sons and daughters who got killed! Also, this always bugged me too: wouldn't Job still be sad about the loss of his first children? Losing children is not exactly like losing a car. You can't just get a new one and everything's good. I mean, if I had a son or daughter who got killed, and then God said, "Hey, it's okay, here's a new one - all fixed!" it wouldn't make my loss of the first one any less, no matter how much I loved the new one.
How about the fact that the children of Job who were killed by Satan will get righteous judgment, while Satan must surely be punished for all the evil he has done?

interesting.
you say the Bible is always true. from Genesis the Bible is based on myths than facts. night and day before creation of the sun? light before creation of the astral bodies? or shld we even talk about the serpent? the so called serpent that tempted Eve and then God cursed all the serpents to start crawling on their bellies? if you don't see the falsehood in that already then you are lacking in common sense. and we have barely covered 3 chapters of the Bible.
You should know that when the Bible records "the evening and the morning", it is simply referring to the 24-hour period which makes a day. Afterall there was no man on earth to experience evening and morning up until the sixth day of Creation. GOD Himself revealed to man that He created everything within 6 days. He revealed that, for example, He created light with a 24-hour period.

whao, so you agree that the book of Job leaves many things unanswered. What foolishness, the book of Job need no extra interpretation, metaphor or allegory to know that the God of the bible has no morality and is petty, insecure, psychopathic and sadistic. May what happened to Job not happen to you.
Yes, true Christians are very honest to admit that there are many lessons which GOD would still teach us from the life of Job in Heaven.

Job's was a beautiful ending. The Bible records it that "the LORD blessed the latter end of Job more than his beginning".(Job 42:12).

If you are serving God just because of who he is and not what you get from him
Then you're on the right path, because GOD deserves worship as the Creator(Rev. 4:11)
What kind of god is a god that does not contribute anything to the life of his followers? A god that does not heal or raise the dead, is that one a god?
I am a living testimony to what GOD can do in a man's life. Anyway, what if I die? I'll live forever in a perfect world.

The jewish - who wrote the bible knew that prayer and miracles from the biblical god is wishful thinking at best so they invented the story of Job to keep you tied down to your religion no matter the circumstances and how long it takes.
No. While the book of Job doubtless leaves many questions unanswered, it makes it clear that GOD' righteous judgment will settle everything.(Job 19:25-27). Though we be impoverished in this wicked world, we will walk on streets made of gold in that beautiful City.

Are u agreeing that God doesn't have a reason for prohibiting killing?
And the question is not whether it's acceptable or not, the question is does God act without purpose or reason. If he does, God is unreasonable and arbitrary
A person who performs an action without a reason is not necessarily unreasonable. Just like doing something with a reason doesn't necessarily make a person reasonable.

Does God have a reason for prohibiting killing? If he doesn't, he acts without reason. If he does, there is a higher reason than god he subjects to

This question is one of the major objections to divine command theory under Philosophy 105, a university course. So I couldn't care less if Doctor Alien on nairaland wants to dismiss the question because he can't explain the dilemma
That something was done without a "reason" does not necessarily make it unacceptable, just as an action is not necessarily acceptable just because it was done with a "reason".

One question about morality

Does God prohibit killing because it's bad or is killing bad because God prohibited it?

If it's the former, it means there is a higher reason or morality than God.

If it's the latter, it means God acts without reason or purpose i.e. insanity
How long will you continue to regurgitate this "Eutyphro dilemma" which is a dilemma only for the ignorant ones? The answer is very simple: killing is bad because GOD prohibits it. GOD is the source of morality.

Do you have any evidence to show that your God exist apart from empty noise?
Yes I have evidence:

1. Look up into the sky, and behold the beauty of the heavens, and how the heavenly bodies move faithfully in their orbits. Who has made these things? And whose hand sustains them? Whose hand bound the proton and the neutron in the nucleus of the atom?

2. Look around you and observe the beautiful forms of life. Who made the tiny ant? By whose hands were the delicate structures of the beautiful flowers woven? Who made the earth so comfortable for life? Who put the limits to the oceans? Who made the powerful lion and the swift eagle?

3. Now look at yourself. Who gave you a mind to think? Whose hand framed the intricate structures of your system? Who made it possible for trillions of functionally diverse cells to originate from just one cell formed by the fusion of two gametes?

His name is Jehovah. He is GOD.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Big Bang, True Or False? by DoctorAlien(m): 12:04am On Jun 21, 2017
Very false. Any sane human being cannot even entertain the idea that any thing can come out of nothing, not to talk of proposing the idea that something as complex and ordered as the universe came out of nothing and achieved its present state by the actions of mere blind forces.

Paul aptly stated "that . . . men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof . . . For of this sort are they . . .Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. . . men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith. But they shall proceed no further: for their folly shall be manifest unto all men. . ." 2 Tim. 3:1-9

The Big bang theory is "science so falsely called." 1 Tim. 6:20

"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." 1 Cor. 2:14
