So how are you different from the devil here:

Mat 4:6 And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

huh
LOL grin grin grin grin grin Bro

It's not hard to see that they resemble their father.

Jesus recognized them: "Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do..." Jn. 8:44

this particular question brings to think... Since science spoke of billions of years, could it be dat God had created man or creature before d existence of our very first man (Adam)... Maybe d bible was referring to time from Adam till now but science saw that d world was way older, probably becus when d bible spoke of God creating the heaven and earth, he wasnt creatin it for d first time, he had created it long ago. Maybe something happened (rebellion) and everything was affect badly and he recreates
Hmm. I think I understand what you're trying to say. Some even say that the disorderliness on the earth, together with the darkness upon it before GOD began creation, was as a result of the activities of the ejected Satan and his angels.

To say the least, the methods which are employed to date the age of the earth scientifically are heavily flawed. They contain too many assumptions.

But we know that the Word of GOD is sure.

13. No one knows. It's mysterious.

I will conclude by saying that there is so much we don't know, "For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known." 1 Cor. 13:12
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 12:37am On Nov 05, 2016
12. No. It was meant as a consequence for Satan's rebellion(Matt. 25:41). However, some humans would love to be destroyed with Satan, and they would have it so.
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 12:34am On Nov 05, 2016
11. Hell is the destruction by eternal fire that awaits sin and sinners at the end of this world. That destruction was initially meant for Satan and the angels who rebelled with him against GOD. However, some humans have rebelled/are still rebelling unrepentantly against GOD. That destruction automatically awaits them. Sin and rebellion cannot continue to exist, you know. GOD has to cleanse the Universe at some point.
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 12:29am On Nov 05, 2016
9. First and foremost, it was to halt their rebellion against Him in gathering together in one place to build a tower that will reach Heaven, instead of multiplying and filling the face of the earth, as He had commanded them.

8. We really aren't told who they were in the Bible, although some hold that they are made up of the twelve Patriarchs and the twelve Apostles. We will behold them face to face and interact with them when we get to Heaven.
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 12:19am On Nov 05, 2016
7. The Sonship of Jesus to GOD is not the sonship we see between humans. I would say Jesus is the Son of GOD because He is the express image of GOD. Bear in mind that the relationship that exists between the Trinity is a mystery, and that we cannot comprehend it now with our finite minds.

6. We really don't know a lot of things. But Lucifer could only be as old in Heaven as when He was created, and we don't know when that was.
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 11:55pm On Nov 04, 2016
5. I think a careful study of the Bible will reveal that the earth is actually about 6000 years old. We know with certainty as much as the Bible reveals, and the Bible tells us that the earth was without form and void before Creation.
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 11:37pm On Nov 04, 2016
4. The word which was translated "day" in Genesis 1 denotes a literal day. And when we remember that GOD is omnipotent, we see that bringing the Universe into existence in 6 days is but nothing to Him. He could have spoken everything into existence in a single day.
Christianity Etc › Re: Questions We Really Should Think About by DoctorAlien(m): 11:31pm On Nov 04, 2016
3. The vastness of our Universe is more than our mind can comprehend. Suffice it to say that the Universe is the sum total of all the matter and space that exist. With this definition in mind, I think it's hard to conceive that another Universe exists. And to your question I would directly answer, GOD "owns" everything that you can think of.

2. I would say GOD's divine Wisdom determined that earth will be the planet to contain humans. And we know that it is perfect.

1. I would say time, in its true sense, has no beginning and no end. Because GOD has always been, time has always been. Examine these statements that affirm the Believer's faith very closely:

1. There was never a time when GOD did not exist.

2. Therefore, there has always been a time when GOD existed.

3. And there will always be a time when GOD will exist.

I hope you catch my attempt here.

Parade a rotten corpse where and why? I think you're overestimating the gravity of the threat facing the Roman soldiers. You forget that there is no WiFi or newspaper or photograph. It makes logistical sense to pass a law punishable by death.
Whatever brought WiFi and Newspaper into this? sad How then did they communicate the death sentence which they had made to the people?

Anyway, it's nice discussing with you. Have a good night's rest. smiley

These speculations are unfounded. There would be no one to record this confession for posterity after the execution had occurred anyway. They would go down as executed Christians, without us ever knowing what they said towards the executioner.

If the Nigerian government suddenly decides to round up native doctors and execute them, all the fake ones will die for their lies.
The bolded above shows that you aren't really looking at this from my point of view.

Anyway, bye.

Please be gracious enough to provide one example where someone, faced with certain cruel death because of what he was saying, continued to say such a thing, even when he knew it was not true.

jonbellion,

Nero was not the first to persecute Christians and the apostles. It started the first day they opened their mouth to say that Jesus rose from the dead. The Jews severally whipped the apostles, and charged them not proclaim Jesus' resurrection anymore. James the Bishop of Jerusalem was beheaded before Nero, I believe. What was their crime? They were simply saying that Jesus rose from the dead.

I may not know whether Smith was severally beaten, whether he was imprisoned often and on, whether he had his properties confiscated, and on several occassions told to recant his statements to be spared persecution and cruel death. However, I don't think a man can be found who continued to say that he saw something, even when it was clear to him that such a statement would cost him his life, and with the man knowing that what he was saying was not true.

Because they were soldiers carrying weapons. It's easier to just remove the heads of the people who are disobeying the law, than to go frolicking around with a corpse.
What made you conclude that the soldiers were not so wise as to know that the most efficient way to silence even the apostles who were preaching the resurrected Jesus, was to parade his dead body?

grin grin grin
Christianity Etc › Re: There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op):
Weah96:
Did Paul say that he saw Jesus or that he saw a number of visions? Seeing visions of Abacha doesn't mean that he resurrected in his corpse body after he died.
Surely it cannot be that nobody on this earth knows where Abacha was buried. And if news started going around town that Abacha rose from the dead, surely his place of rest will be quickly excavated to see if the bones are still there or not.

Why was the body of Jesus not produced as an evidence that He did not resurrected? Surely, Roman guards were placed around His tomb. The Jews which tried their best to prevent His resurrection from happening certainly knew where He was buried, because guards were placed there at their request. Why did they not produce Jesus' body?
Christianity Etc › Re: There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op): 7:15pm On Nov 04, 2016
Weah96:
It depends on whether the humans will be granted their freedom if they recount and admit their lies. An admission of one's lies before a court of vigilantes will embolden them to remove your head even more. It's better to stick to your story and hope for the best.
But like I said, it depends.
The risen Jesus which the apostles were proclaiming at that time was offensive, and they were asked to stop doing so, or face death. They were outlaws for proclaiming that they saw Jesus, and that He rose from the dead. And surely, recanting their statements would have spared them persecution(but not eternal damnation.)

So, your claim that "admitting your lies before a court of vigilantes will make them remove your head the more" doesn't apply here.
Christianity Etc › Re: There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op): 5:16pm On Nov 04, 2016
Also,

Secular historians like Tacitus recorded the fact that Jesus was executed by Roman soldiers. Why did they not produce the body of Jesus to quell the news of His resurrection which was spreading faster than wildfire at that time?
Christianity Etc › Re: There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op): 5:11pm On Nov 04, 2016
There are cases of people dying for beliefs which turned out to be false, but has anybody willingly died for professing anything which he knew was a lie?

Paul yielded his life for what he said he saw; did Mohammed die for what he said he saw?
Christianity Etc › Re: There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op): 4:08pm On Nov 04, 2016
Weah96:
No. What I have seen is a group of people who were willing to kill themselves, and others, over a delusion. Suicidal tendencies don't affect the dimensions of the truth.
Humans can be willing to die for something and STILL BE WRONG.
But humans can't be threatened with death, and still continue to profess that they saw something which they know truly that they didn't see.
Christianity Etc › Re: There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op): 3:47pm On Nov 04, 2016
Weah96:
A few objections. First one.

The evidence that Jesus resurrected is the fact that 12 men were willing to die for that belief?

—

I've seen 20 men blow themselves up thinking that the creator of the universe desired it. You should know better.

https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/do-the-eyes-have-it/

More objections to follow.
You really cannot prove that any man, or indeed any group of men ever said that they saw something, which they know they didn't see, and then were willing to die for such a claim, even though they knew it was a lie, can you?

When it comes to the subject of the resurrection of the Christ, (literally his name was pronounced Yeshua). Many tend to believe it can’t be proven but must be accepted on faith alone. While faith is an important issue when it comes to the Bible, lets take a look at the facts surrounding the resurrection of Yeshua (English translation “Joshua” and every international translation “Jesus”). In short, there is more proof that Jesus of Nazareth was raised from the dead, than we have that Julius Caesar even lived!
Christianity Etc › There Is Absolute Proof That Jesus Christ Rose From The Dead! by DoctorAlien(op): 2:01pm On Nov 04, 2016
This is without a doubt one of the best articles on the evidence for Jesus Christ being real that I have ever read. It is a rather long article but well worth the time to read. The amount of evidence we have available in today’s world that the Bible is a genuine historically correct and relevant book is substantial. Many arguments used to discredit the Bible no longer hold water.

If you are a Believer, this article reaffirms your faith, and is an interesting read. If you are an agnostic, this may help you in making a decision for Christ. If you are an atheist, well I hope you give this article a read with an open mind.
