Was the temple destroyed in their generation??
Bro ur explanation is childish at best
And your question is ignorant.

Jesus was crucified in 31 AD. Stephen was stoned in 34 AD. 70 AD is well within that generation.

Bye.

Jesus told His disciples to flee Judaea as soon as they see the abomination of desolation standing in the Holy Place. Follow this link to find out what the abomination of desolation is.

Of course, we know that the temple in Jerusalem was destroyed in 70 AD, well before that generation could pass away(verse 34). And not a single Christian died in that massacre. They left Judaea immediately they saw the signs Jesus told them.

The tribulation which Jesus spoke about in verse 29, together with the signs to follow it, is another topic which I can't treat now.

Maybe later.
Christianity Etc › Re: Christians Help Me Answer This Question by DoctorAlien(m): 10:03am On Nov 13, 2016
mrvitalis:
Yea
In Matt. 24:2, Jesus explicitly said that the temple will be destroyed. In verse 3, His disciples open the question with "Tell us, when shall these things be?" Then they further ask "and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?"

The disciples thought that the destruction of Jerusalem must surely be a sign of the end of the world. They considered the magnificence of the temple(verse 1), and concluded that its destruction must be apocalyptic.

Jesus begins His answer with a rundown of events to take place before His second coming. He connects it with the events that will lead to the destruction of Jerusalem in verse 15. He advises those in Judaea to flee when they see these signs, for great destruction will follow them(verse 15-20).

He switches again to the events that will lead to the end of the world in verse 21. He specifically mentioned a tribulation that was to come, and some things to happen after it.

No that's not true.. .. He was talking about the end of the world and asking the deciples to endure that some of them will even be alive when he comes... If u don't have an explanation say so but don't lie

This js what lead to my disbelief in yhe Bible
If I can prove to you that Jesus intertwined the events that will happen before the destruction of Jerusalem with those that will happen before the end of the world, will you start believing the Bible again?

Reading through Matthew 24 the 12 flowers of jesus asked him of the signs that will happen before his glorious coming.. Then he gave the signs and as it got to vs 34

'' ' he said verily i say unto u this generation will not pass before this things come to pass ''

The generation has passed and he didn't come dose that mean he lied??
It is bad enough to use incomplete words like "u" when writing, not to talk of quoting the Bible.

Anyway, Jesus carefully intertwined the events that will happen just before the end of the world with the ones to happen just before the destruction of Jerusalem. In essence, Jesus, in Matt. 24, accurately predicted what will happen just before the destruction of Jerusalem, but at the same time the prophecy contains events that will culminate in the end of the world.

That was the reason why He said that those things would be fulfilled before that generation passes away.

I promise never to quote you again, sorry for trying to discus science with you. I get annoyed and emotional when someone try to pass their religious dogma as science.
I feel that the only way future generations can escape the poverty and sufferings inherent in African societies is for our children and youth to embrace science and technology not more religious dogma.
So I arrest my case.

What is the ad hominem fallacy here , it is apparent you have no idea of elementary geography. Instead of you to enrol back to secondary school ( at least SSS) to learn elementary geography and some sciences, you are asking me to teach you star and planetary formation. You think I have the time to waste.
So the origin of the universe is now taught in secondary school geography?

Wow!

Anyway, bye.

Christianity Etc › Re: Is Courtship Biblical? by DoctorAlien(m): 12:10am On Nov 13, 2016
I believe courtship gives one opportunity to find out things about his/her potential spouse. During such a period, one can know how compatible he/she is with the person with whom he/she intends spending the rest of his/her life.

The Bible does not forbid getting to know the personality(not carnal knowledge) of your spouse-to-be.

Good. At least, you've taken one step out of delusion. The Universe was created, and didn't pop out of nothing.

True, too, you don't know Who created the universe. One day, you will know Him.

The world, that is our solar system with all its planets including the earth came about probability. There was enough gas and dust from other star explosions to start what is called accretion. This gas accretion lead to the creation of the sun, the earth and everything else in our solar system. Then the earth after a while after the formation of the solar system had the right conditions to support life.
Prove that this is what happened.

you see grin ....If am arguing with science and you with religion, we can never be on the same page.....

E.g how exactly can you prove god created the universe?.......a text from the bible? huh

The universe did not come from nothing (at least in the sense we understand nothing to be). The laws of physics in the macro universe doesnt hold in a quantum scale and further breaks down at the point of sigularity. We dont know how anything is supposed to behave at that point, or even if the point is actually real or imaginery (theoretical physics). The bottom line is we do not know.

Goodnight sir, because i can already envision your response.
I don't know why you think you're the only one who has a knowledge of science. Anyway, the delusion is common to "atheists".

For the fact that the universe did not create itself, Something created it.

Good night.

As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Christianity Etc › Re: Why Do We Have Laws Governing An Uncaused Universe by DoctorAlien(m): 10:37pm On Nov 12, 2016

The Universe itself didn't pop into existence. It expanded from a single point. What came before that is unknown.

Now it is possible (but improbable) for a single particle to pop into existence and expand but it is infinitely less probable for every single particle to pop out at a go, isn't it? Believe it or not, research is going in this very area because theoretically there's still a chance.
Where was the single point?

What is that single point?

What did it contain?

What caused it to expand?

Where did space come from?

And if space came from the single point too, how could it expand and into what did it expand?
Christianity Etc › Re: Is It Good/Right For Christians To Patronize Seers?? by DoctorAlien(m): 8:40pm On Nov 12, 2016
Why do you need to go to a seer? What is that thing you want to know? Are you sure that that seer receives from the LORD? What about the future do you want to know? Whether it will go well with you? Don't you trust GOD? Or don't you believe that as long as you trust and obey GOD, He will sort out your life in the best possible way? Have you ever thought of the fact that the seer might be a charlatan making money off people's credulity?

"And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their GOD? for the living to the dead? To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them." Isa. 8:19-20

Did Jewish worship three Gods? Or only One God?
DoctorAlien:
The concept of a second Person in the GOD Family who is worthy of homage just like the Father is, is seen in Psa. 2:12 which reads "Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him."

It is also recorded here that those who put their trust in this Son are blessed. This Son could not have been a man, for "Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man..." Jer. 17:5

This Son can, also, not be an angel, for "Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:" Job 4:18. If GOD charged His angels with folly, then He could not ask us to put our trust in an angel.

This leaves us with only one option: this Son being talked about in Psa. 2:12 is GOD!

Your God is one God. Jesus as God or son of God or part of God is invented. Ten Covenant should at least include this weird concept. Beside the first and the most important covenant negated this concept- tell us worship one and ascribed no partner on to Him because He is a jealous God.

Did Abraham, Mosses or any good men of old pray to Jesus? They all prayed to God alone.

or show me what Jesus has created, or did he create you and I?

Show where Jesus himself said he is God, son or privy divinity.

Roman paganisms are included in Christianity. Read widely or pray to ur creator to show the way. Dying as Christian is more than terrible mistake.
Even the Jews knew that the word "Elohim" used in Gen. 1:26 is a plural word. Therefore, there couldn't have been only one person in the GOD Family.

And before you tell me that GOD was talking to angels, you have to provide a verse where it says angels were made in the image of GOD.

4. Was the Baby called Immanuel?

5. If the Baby was called Immanuel, where was that?

Did you also note that Ahaz never asked a sign of the LORD? And that when the LORD was about to speak the sign, He said "Hear now, O House of David"?
