I am sorry for doubting your predicament. I don't live in Nigeria but I am a regular on Nairaland. I just called my Pharmacy in Douala, Cameroon and the price of same drug remains at 4510 francs CFA which equates to 5400 Naira. Cameroon doesn't have a production unit for GSK atsuch the drug is imported too.

Augmentin is a GSK pharmaceutical brand of Amoxicillin that contains c!avulanic acid to fight antibiotic resistance. It is in the WHO list of essential Medicines with generic versions from several pharmaceutical that sell for less than 2000 Naira equivalent in Cameroon. I wonder at what point a cheap, easy to produce, essential medicine like Amoxicillin/Clavulanic acid would cost 57.000

Did you ask for another brand? I think you should lodge a complain with the price control for a proper investigation. This is totally outrageous. The Naira hasn't devaluated to the Zimbabwean dollar

Even if the Naira lost a 100% of it's value Augmentin can't sell for 57000. I think the OP is just being mischievous

I have often felt pity for the embattled Palestinian population of Gaza whose plight to existence has often been made blight by the Hamas terrorist group. An offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood that started in Egypt in the 1920's, Hamas has almost singularly retarded the Palestinian cause at all fronts.

Its support from Iran and other rogue islamist fractions pits it at odds with most of the rational Muslim and Arab world. Mind you Gaza has a land border with Egypt at Ramallah Which should have dented the efforts of the Israeli blockade. Even as Fatah the more rational fraction that controls the PA condemns every action of the Israelites, in reality they know Hamas is an enemy to the plight of the ordinary Palestinian. Fatah was literally fought out of GAZA by Hamas in 2007 leading to both blockades at the Egyptian and Israeli front.
