Before I decided to became a freelancer,I have worked for some companies ,one of them in particular made me very upset(payment issue-45k unpaid till today for my sweat). I have also been scammed helping a friend get a job. There was no platform for me to warn people who would fall into the trap of these scammers. Yes Nairaland is there ,but I needed something dedicated ,that is user friendly and intuitive. I searched and couldn't find ,so i created mine .Not just to serve Nigeria alone , but the whole world !. I present to you JobPoller What Does The App Do ? It helps you rate your experience with any job, employer or prospective employer Is It Free ? The app is free and would always be free to use .If there would be any charge in the future ,it would be for something like sms alert as the app expands,or a tiny little subscription as low as #50-#100 per month,to bear the cost of running and maintaining the app .I promise it won't exceed that. How Can The App Benefit You Or Anyone ? You can search for a company before applying or submitting an application, or before going for an interview. You can search using the company or employer name ,email, phone number and address . You can check the rating people have given this particular company,so you know whether or not the company is worth your time .It also gives you an inkling of what to expect if you end up working with that company or employer. By adding your rating of all the companies you have worked with, you would be helping anyone who wants to work where you have worked decide whether or not the company or employer would be good for them. What's In It For You ? Well, this app was built from ground up by an individual,so there isn't much I can give. But isn't it wonderful knowing you would be helping other people decide whether a job is good for them or not and also avoid job scams ? Look at the bright side ,you would also be receiving that favor in return ! I have a reward system in the app that rewards you and whoever you invite with points(5 points). The top 5 people every month would get prizes. To refer someone they have to register with your username as their referrer. What's In It For The Maker Of The App Honestly nothing much, even though I have invested a reasonable amount of money and time to put this together all alone. But I do derive joy ,knowing that I am making a reasonable contribution to everyone and job scams would be reduced to the minimum ,since I have been a victim once,I know how much it hurts. I also have non-intrusive ads in the app to make a little change to help bear cost of maintaining the app. I also accept donations from anyone who has found the app useful and loves the app, I guarantee that you would love it. Here is a summary of the features of the app : You can rate an already existing company in the database You can search for companies ,with phone number ,address, email. You can add a company and rate it instantly if its not in the database You can change your rating of any company anytime You can also check the top 100 scam jobs to avoid ,according to peoples ratings. I have included some screen shots ,but kindly download and use the app to get the whole experience. Side Notes : I also designed the logo myself too-infact everything ,no be small work to build everything from scratch. It might look basic ,but there is a story behind it . Looking at it closely its a suitcase ,if you look deeper you would see a smiling face,if you turn the logo/suitcase upside down , you would see a frowning or sad face. This is significant to the core aim of the app, reducing job scams and making people apply for jobs that would make them happy or at least satisfied. You can download the app here : It would be on Google store soon. And hopefully by next year I would build the IOS app too. You can follow and help share across social media Facebook, twitter and instagram all @JobPoller Most importantly ,I really need your feedback on how to make it better. MODIFIED :It now on the playstore ! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jobpoller.android Seun Lasticlala Dominique Obinoscopy Aminat508 Autojosh Funjosh

Lagosfinder:I used it for an online payment some days ago in dollars (godaddy to be precise),so it should work just fine . |
olak3:What is your budget |
Akin1212:You don't need to be dis harsh oga Take it easy There is a way to pass your message in a better way |
seostore1:Just about any programming language nowadays can be used to make games Even the last born HTML5 is used in building many ground breaking games . I advice you should understand the fundamentals of programming first . Understand some graphics (either 2d or 3d or both) Then choose a game engine ,there are tons of them Unity is cross platform and its also cool You can try Godot engine , its also cross platform and very very small and open source too (just 20mb !!!!!) |
When Jesus comes we all know where and who judgment would start with !!! Big five alive !!!!! se wetin hapen !!!! If everyone can start walking ,acting and treating one another like Christ did,the world will be a better place. Being a christain, whether pastor or member ,means being Christ-like ,so many people have forgotten this. May God help us. Make una order affordable and professional website jare for only 15k(plus hosting and domain-promo price). |
if its an android app na small thing na ,just use html+javascript+phonegap e don finish. |
2sweetworld:info at donald . com . ng My number is in my signature. Or you could drop your number and i would give u a call. |
menwongo:Javascript is not related to Java You can learn in the order I gave you Javascript -> Python -> Java There is nothing hard about programming is just learning the core fundamentals of programming, thinking and brainstorming and understanding the syntax(or lay man english- pattern) of the particular programming language |
menwongo:Since you are a newbie ,I would advice you start with Html and Javascript first REASONS: -Javascript(not to be mistaken with Java) is easy to learn and it would help you easily pick up the core fundamentals of programming -Since its easier to learn , it would make you feel good about yourself and encouraged not to give up -Javascript is also Object Oriented(a topic for another day) Then gradually move over to Python after creating several programs and your are fairly comfortable with Javascript You would notice how easy it is coding in Python ,since you already understand the core fundamentals of programming learnt in Javascript (The syntax is also similar -but not the same) Then you can now move to Java Its not advisable to start learning programming with Java ,most of the time it frustrates newbies and make them give up easily ,because of its relatively complex syntax and learning curve . Look at this examples if you want to print ordinary "Hello World "on your screen Javascript: alert('hello world');Python: print 'hello world ' Java: public class HelloWorld {The difference is clear, two are like you are speaking english , the other is like an alien language ![]() |
menwongo:It should do just fine ,but it also depends on what kind of application you are try to develop. But it should do fine |
walemoney007:Nice to know you are well connected.I wish you well |
Feeding all the hungry kids in Nigeria and putting them in school |
Lloydfolarin:When i wrote what i did I was ready to be called names. It takes nothing out of me . Why do you hate Igbos ? |
gbosaa:Nigeria is indeed sick, and its because we let it get to this point . Concerning the army and police , their own is on another level, and when such atrocities are committed ,who sends them ?-The same government and god fathers Who are these people in the army and police ? ,are they not Nigerians too, once you slip something into their pockets they care less about anyone(This is where ,the issue of peoples mindset comes in again, humans first before any other thing) We handed over too much power to these people who got power drunk. We focused less on resources that really matter and paid too much attention to oil(not that it doesnt matter). Nigeria freaking has almost all resources(natural and manpower) to build a freaking electric car from ground up ! Right now the quickest way to solve the problem of Nigeria is : Using the ONLY tool that can have maximum effect over a short period of time -The internet-to torment their lives and families. Force them to cut down their Goliath salaries by 80% (what one persons receives every month can feed an average family for years). Make them focus on these areas,Roads,Electricity,Cheaper Telecom services(call and data),New ports (as you said),Health,Agriculture and Education. I am a programmer and a startup founder(in progress) ,I am constantly crippled by lack of electricity,Imagine spending almost 40 k on fuel every month, and it has also chopped funds that should go into the start up that would solve a major problem in Nigeria, how do they expect the economy to work, when so many bright minds and ideas are buried everyday ! ? If all these are done , watch Nigeria take care of itself, watch it sprout in less than 10 years. We have all we need ,greed got us here. |
gbosaa:I totally agree that enough is enough . But don't you think Kanu is making the same mistakes the founding fathers of Nigeria made ? He is creating the wrong foundation,he is building on hatred, its going to be Nigeria 2.0 . |
gbosaa: Donald3d:Thats your answer |
DerideGull:Don't you think he sounds like a terrorist ? "Close down Lagos ports and open up PH, Calabar, Onitsha and Warri ports" He is asking for certain things to be withdrawn or halted in some states and started in others . Can't you have development in more than one place ,it doesn't make sense . He is trying to do unto others , what he is complaining is being done to him. Its like saying saying you should stop giving one of your children money, and giving his sibling ,just because the first started receiving first.Knowing fully well you can afford to give both. Wow ! |
walemoney007:Really,Ok When you say "we",I am wondering who the "we" are . You all(across all tribes),sit back while a few people inspired by greed, nonchalance decide your future. I can bet you probably don't even know who the local government chairman ,of your village LGA is,yet you feel all is well and the so called people clamoring for Oduduwa have it all figured out. Hmm ! |
nawtyme:My oga , this is my point exactly Anyone is free to fight for freedom, because everyone deserves it. Mandela did and they are happy now . His intentions were genuine , his approach was systematic, well planned and he had a destination ,a goal ! He built on a good foundation. Nnamdi is the opposite ,he has good intentions ,but his approach, reasons, countenance is all wrong,he is working semi-haphazardly . He is building on hatred. And this foundation can't stand . Its not about what the Igbos can do or try ,its what we should all do and try . It starts from little efforts, right from the home and the most basic and functional units of the society(family). Then we build our way up. I would say again , we are underestimating the power of the internet Regarding what the President said, All those politicians are all the same , the ones from the North,SS,SE,E,W etc. They are all the same !. They are after their own pockets . Another thing is this "my brother" issue . Personally now , would you employ an Igbo man into your organisation who is about average ,or would you rather employ someone from somewhere else eg(North) who is more than qualified and has good track record. "My brother","Our brother " is what got us here . |
Etogist:Ok indulge me Who would rule you ?. Is it the same igbo people rulling Nigeria . Would their ideologies and greed just suddenly change because its a new country ? What about you, what are you willing to positively contribute to the new Biafra What mistakes did Nigeria make , and what steps is Biafra taking to make sure they don't make such mistakes. |
walemoney007:Do you have a plan ? What is your plan when dissolution occurs ,if you are the leader of your section ? We are jumping before thinking ,anyone is free to have what they want. The question is what happens after, that is one question most "e-warriors" are not asking themselves. |
nawtyme:This is the only brilliant question,by anyone so far All this questions has already being answered in my post, but I would repeat : We need to REALLY stand up to this people, and use the most powerful tool right now at our disposal (the internet). Look at the way Saraki started fidgeting recently due to social media pressure. By the way hope you know ,if Biafra gets their country you would be ruled by Igbo leaders that are currently leading Nigeria in various positions ,so what makes it different.Pouring old wine in a new wine container would only contaminate it. I hope you get my point. |
Etogist:You can have a good conversation without being abusive oga.Calm your nerves |
Ngozi123:Its sad you chose to focus on this and not the real message I am passing across. This is the hate I am talking about , we are focusing too much on where people are from and not their intentions or who they really are. Besides:I am trying to speak for humanity in Nigeria, its not restricted to Igbos or Yorubas, because if e hapen now,the man championing this struggle would go and hide in a bunker or fly abroad, while his kinsmen die in the war front. My aim is to avert mishaps. |
nawtyme:As I said ,I don't oppose Biafra ,neither do i support it . But I believe SOME of their requests are indeed genuine I am bothered about the common man regardless of tribe or region. If you read my post well you would have noticed this. My point is that the whole thing is rooted on hate and is not organised. Imagine calling his own kinsmen who are not in support of his ideas pigs . Do you think such person would be a true democratic leader ,he is already exhibiting some signs of tyranny. You don't just decide to hate someone because they don't believe in what you believe in. |
Somatic:fehicu hmm ,I like that Thanks |

No one cares that you have an Igbo girlfriend; she can visit you in Nigeria when we get our independence or even stay with you there.
