Embattled Prof. Richard Iyiola Akindele, a former lecturer in the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, dragged to court for demanding sex to pass one of his students, Monica Osagie, on Monday, changed his plea from ‘not guilty’ to ‘guilty.’

The prosecutor, Mr. Shogunle Adenekan, said all parties in the matter had reached an agreement and pleaded for a suspended sentence for the accused.

Your International Passport Will Now Be Valid For 10Years. Nigerian Immigration Service, over the weekend in Kano, said it has concluded plans to affect the validity of Nigerian passport to 10 years.

Controller General, Immigration, Muhammad Babandede, said this on Sunday at the graduation ceremony of 652 Cadet officers of the 43rd Superintendent Basic Course, held at the Immigration Training School, Kano.

Babandede, who hinted that the service does not recognize presentation of high profile notes or calls for special posting of officers, cautioned the new cadets to accept their new posting in good faith.

President Muhammadu Buhari has just told state governors that the Nigerian economy is in bad shape.

The Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum, Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed this to State House correspondents in Abuja.

Yari, who is the Governor of Zamfara State, and his colleagues, met with Buhari briefly at the Presidential Villa after the National Economic Council meeting, which took place on Friday.

According to him, the President informed the governors that “the economy is in bad shape and that we have to come together, think and rethink on the way forward.”

Two days before my 38th birthday on September 17th, I welcomed my first child, my son, Jayce. I look at him and I wonder why I waited so long to have a child. I’ve never known love like this. I literally have tears in my eyes every time I look at him. I can’t believe he came out of me. He is by far my greatest blessing and I’m looking forward to navigating him through life!

Now to the reason why you are reading this. I argued with myself for a long time whether to put this out or not…and finally decided it was a story I wanted to share. I've always been open about my life but I'm sharing details about my personal life mostly because of the girls who look up to me. The girls I have mentored, mentoring right now and plan to mentor in the future. I’m very particular about our young girls and I have personally tried over the years to be an example in some way; tried to teach these girls how to fight for their dreams, how to live right and do right and then I go and have a child out of wedlock and that must be a little confusing to some of them and especially with so many untruthful stuff out there about me. The most hilarious is that I had a child for a married man. Lol. Here’s my answer to that! The married man that I will sleep with has not yet been born. If he’s been born, he will die, be buried, rise and die again before he will lay with me. I don’t do married men. The father of my child is a single man and his name is Sholaye Jeremi. To be honest, at some point I thought he was my final bus stop but you know how life happens...lol. Unfortunately he and I are a completely closed chapter. Sadly for our son Jayce, it’s the kind of chapter that can’t ever be opened again.

The Barcelona star has been leased the plane to travel around the world in luxury and comfort and it comes complete with a few personal touches.

Donnie McClurkin, an International gospel artiste, survived a ghastly motor accident yesterday December 12th. He took to social media to share the news. McClurkin thanked God for saving him after he lost consciousness while driving.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has detained a former Chairman of Skye Bank Plc (Now Polaris Bank), Mr. Tunde Ayeni. He was detained for fraud. 

The anti-graft commission EFCC has also filed charges against the former Skye Bank boss before a Federal High Court in Maitama.

Ayeni, it was learnt, would be arraigned for fraud running into billions of naira.

Particularly, the EFCC will charge him for mismanaging the funds of the bank which almost led to its collapse.

The United States has slapped a ban on former Gambian President Yahya Jammeh and his family from entering the country.

The measure announced on Monday is largely related to charges of corruption and gross rights abuses during his 22 years in charge.

His wife, Zineb Yahya Jammeh, and his children are also on the US blacklist relating to foreign leaders involved in large-scale corruption or serious human rights violations, according to a State Department statement.

Nigeria Senate has suspended the confirmation of four persons that were nominated as members of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.

The Senate Committee on Anti-Corruption and Financial Crimes had, on Tuesday, presented to the Plenary it's finding on the four EFCC nominees, but the legislators noted that the South-East and the South-South were “not accommodated” in the Commission.

The four nominees presented for confirmation are:

Ndasule Moses, Lawan Mamman, Galadanci Imam Najib, and Adeleke Adebayo Rafiu. They were nominated as members of the EFCC, and need to be confirmed by the National Assembly.

Half a year (six months), after his conviction by a Federal Capital Territory High Court, Senator Joshua Dariye is still the N750, 000 salary and N13.5m monthly running cost from the National Assembly. This is as the Punch reports.

Upon investigation, it was discovered that Dariye, who represents Plateau-Central Senatorial District, was still receiving the allowances because his seat had yet to be declared vacant by the leadership of the National Assembly.

Dariye, who was governor of Plateau State from 1999 to 2007, was prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and convicted by Justice Adebukola Banjoko of an FCT High Court for embezzling N1.162bn.

Reggae and dancehall star, Buju Banton is a free man. He served nearly eight years in prison on drug trafficking charges. He headed back to Jamaica after being released from Georgia’s McRae Correctional Facility on Friday (Dec. 7).

Banton was later spotted landing at Norman Manley Airport in Kington, Jamaica where he was met by crowds of fans. Now that he’s back home, Banton plans to channel his energy towards helping Jamaica’s youth find employment opportunities, the country’s culture minister Olivia “Babsy” Grange told The Guardian.

The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is currently examining allegations of crimes committed in Nigeria by the President Muhammadu Buhari administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The examination is, however, aimed at determining whether to open a full-scale investigation on the country. In addition to Nigeria, are also Venezuela, Bangladesh/Myanmar, the Philippines, Colombia, Guinea, Palestine, Ukraine, as well as alleged abuses by United Kingdom armed forces in Iraq.

The ICC is the first permanent global court mandated to bring to justice people responsible for war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide when national courts are unable or unwilling to do so.

It is a court of last resort and has 123 member countries. In addition to the request to open an investigation in Afghanistan, the ICC prosecutor has opened investigations in Central African Republic, Côte d’Ivoire, the Darfur region of Sudan, Democratic Republic of Congo, Georgia, Kenya, Libya, Mali, and northern Uganda.

A Mexican model and volunteer was crowned Miss World at a glitzy event on the tropical Chinese island of Hainan on Saturday.

Miss Mexico Vanessa Ponce de Leon, 26, has a degree in international business, volunteers for "Migrantes en el Camino" and is on the board of directors of a rehab centre for girls, according to the Miss World website.

She was crowned as the 68th Miss World by last year's winner, Manushi Chhillar of India, in the coastal city of Sanya.

The colourful ceremony included US group Sister Sledge performing their 1979 disco anthem "We Are Family."

The Octuplets were born to Iyke and Nkem December 20th, 1998. One of them, a girl died after 7 days and another girl was born 3years later.

Adenike Adeyemi, the NYSC Director of Information, did not say what punishment had been meted out to Davido who has broken several NYSC bye-laws

The President of the United States, President Donald Trump said Saturday he hoped to organize a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in early 2019, perhaps as soon as January or February.

Trump told reporters travelling home to Washington with him aboard Air Force One from Argentina that "three sites" were in consideration for the meeting, a follow-up to their historic summit in Singapore in June.

"I think we're going to do one fairly (soon) -- you know, into January, February, I think," said Trump, who had been in Buenos Aires for the Group of 20 summit.

The founder of Odua Peoples Congress movement, Dr. Frederick Fasehun, has died. This is going by some inner sources.

Fasehun, it was gathered, died in the early hours of Saturday at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja.

He was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital on Tuesday where he remained until his demise.

Fasehun’s spokesman, Mr. Adeoye Jolaosho, was said to have confirmed the death. He said the late OPC founder was confirmed dead after a brief illness.
