He was not willing to stay in prison for that period, Buhari kept him there for that long. as for whether he will run for political post in Nigeria or not, Ojukwu went to war and later contested for presidency in the same country he fought against.

you cant compare ojukwu and nnamdi kanu becos ojukwu never and was not willing to sacrifice his personal freedom for biafra. that was the main reason biafra was seen as a fraud before kanu came into the picture. ojukwu, since 1970 till his death never ever believed in biafra because, being a warmonger, he never believed in peaceful agitation, negotiation and resolution(a stance he had maintained during and after d war despite entreaties). hopefully, with kanu's peaceful approach will work
