The protectorates came about because of agreements the British like George Goldie and Lord Lugard signed with the various traditional rulers.
You also forget that, as per the amalgamation in 1914, after the total British conquest of Nigeria, the British ruled and collected taxes directly through the Alaafin of Oyo in the West, the Sultan of Sokoto in the North West and Shehu of Borno is the Northeast. They also collected taxes indirectly in the East through the Warrant chiefs who are all Efik/Aros under the control of the Obong of Calabar, prior to the series of constitutional amendments in the 1940s that subsequently led to the independence movement and the rise of the likes of Awolowo, Zik and Bello.

I disagree because it was so the word used will be something like conquest or forced unitary system. moreover, the British has left since 1960. Today none of these traditional rulers are willing to allow Nigeria to divide or secede, so how do you think it can happen especially as the 1999 constitution has no room for referendum?

Angry Mob on Monday, July 4, set two suspected ritualists ablaze for allegedly raping a 10-year-old girl to death in Ede-Oballa, Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State.

A Source from the community told NewsMen that the girl, who was the daughter of one late Philip Ugwu of Umuidu, went missing few days ago and was later found dead in a nearby bush with her eyes, breast and private parts removed.

"The girl who was about 10 years old was initially declared missing and the next day she was found dead with her body badly mutilated," the Source Narrated.

“Her eyes was plugged out, her private parts were cut off and taken away by the suspected ritualists.

"Angered by the development, the elders and youths in the community went out of their way in search of what happened to the little girl.

"Along the line it was discovered that some members of the community has hand in the killing of the little girl, two person was arrested by the member of the neighborhood watch, but the angry mob overpowered them from handing them over to the police and set the ablaze,"

The Source identified the suspects simply as Ifeanyi, a Native Doctor and Chidera noted that they are both from the community, stressing that they might have killed the girl and removed her body parts for money ritual.

“They Confessed to the crime and pleaded for forgiveness but these any mob were adamant,” he added.

Another Eyewitness from the community told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the incident had thrown the community into sorrow.

"The natives of the town have been worried that ritualists have entered the community. Only ritualists will rape a girl to death and remove her vital organs for their evil acts," the witness narrated.

"That was why when residents heard that the perpetrators of the dastardly act had been arrested by the Neighbourhood Watch, everybody rushed to its office. The crowd overpowered the security men and grabbed the two ritualists that killed the girl and set them on fire and watched them burn to death.

“It was the intention of the security men to take the suspects to the police but they were overpowered by the mob,” the eyewitness said.

The President-General and Councillor representing the community, Messrs Val Omeje and Hyginus Ogbu, respectively, confirmed the incident.

They also confirmed that the suspects hailed from the community.

Meanwhile, Graphic Videos of the mob action and that of the confession made by one of the suspects before he was set ablaze are making the round on Facebook.

We have a family friend, we practically do things together, I and my siblings goes to same school as the other, same class and so on. My dad stood as a guarantor for them for a loan of about 2.5m then in his work place where he has been working for like 30years in 2012, these people opened a pure water factory and was doing well, unfortunately my dad got retired forcefully then in 2013 just about 2/3years to his retirement due to failing economy. The 2.5m was removed from his gratuity and pension. We were left with peanut. My family went from that to sorrow. After about 2 years when the deal elapsed, he went to meet this family friend, pay back this money.

They said they don’t have it, we started begging fr our money oo, my dad reported to their extended family and the family friend turn it to fight. That why are we reporting them here and there

The wife even threatened that if we take this to court, she will tell the court she’ll pay 10,k every month for the next couple of years till she pays finish and there’s nothing we can do.

It was so devastating, 3,4,5,6,7 years later still kept on begging, fighting, we stopped talking to each other, in between the wife bought a car rav4 Toyota 2007 and you claim you don’t have money to pay debt. This really angered my dad but there was nothing he could do. But God pushed us through those years oo.

Fortunately they had a change of heart this year and they paid half of the money this year, after we’ve suffered and they enjoyed, sent their first born out for masters.

Took them 9years to pay a loan they were supposed to pay in 2years and now my heart is hardened never to do that for anyone no matter who

I am in my mid 20's, I dated my Ex for few years, we were both students then in one of the West Universities (graduates now) and I really loved him, it was true love I felt for him to be honest, he wasn't working, I don't demand for money from him or anything, I sell clothes, shoes, bags and do other small businesses while schooling, that's how I foot my own Bills and also give him money sometimes when in need. His family knows me, my family knows him like we were so much in each other(or so I thought). I saw no other guy except him, I built my world around him, we were best of friends as I am an introvert and really don't keep friends so he was my all.
Even though it was a tough decision to make, I had to break up with him due to the following reasons;
1. He has beaten me once and promised not to do it again but he still slapped me in every slightest provocation.
2. He wanted to go into yahoo yahoo. That's not the kind of partner I want, I want a legit hustler not a fraudster.
3. He sometimes cheats on me and I will forgive him always. He tells me I am the main while the others is just for cruise that every guy cheats
4. He suddenly started smoking and drinking due to friends influence I guess (Eew, I don't want that)
5. He is Lazy, always wanting big money buh doesn't want to work. I told him to Start from somewhere after our graduation no matter how little buh he won't heed.
6. He always talks dirty with his female friends even in my presence, I wonder what happens behind me.

I ended the relationship after so much talking, pleas and counselling hoping he will change but he didn't. I dated another guy 2 months later, I know nobody is perfect but trust me when I say my current guy is all I ever wanted in a man. But the truth is I really do not love him that deep, He treats me fine and all but I still feel something for my ex maybe because I was already soo used to him. My boyfriend has told me to go back if that's what I want because he doesn't want a divided attention. I know I can't break up with him because it will hurt him so badly and my conscience won't even allow me because he has done literally nothing wrong, yes we normally have our ups and downs but he hasn't done anything worth breaking up over with.

This whole IPOB thing is a mission of mostly mixed breed Igbos predominantly from the Akwa cross areas of Igbo/Ibibios and Igbo/efik mixed breeds under the sponsorship of the Efik/Ibibios/Ekoi nationality to gradually destroy core Igbo land using Fulani atrocities as a cover.

Various European historical books from the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries states that the Ijaw, Efik and Ibibio people found in the coastal areas of Southern Nigeria constantly refers to the core Igbos found in the hinterland as 'bushmen', 'barbarians' and 'animals' living like in a 'Zoo'. murdered traditional rulers from the core Igbo area of Imo state, even murdered a youth leader from Anambra who dated lead a protest against the sit and home. The sit at home has made the East to lose billions of dollars in revenue. Everyone in the East now live their lives as if they are in a jungle or Zoo.

With all these things happening, is it not fair to say that the Zoo Nnamdi Kanu is referring to all along is after all IGBO LAND? remember, like I said earlier, before colonisation, the Ijaws, Efiks and Ibibios called Igbos living in the hinterland bushmen living like animals in a Zoo without civilization.

Nnamdi Kanu is from afara Ibeku Umuahia, the capital city of Abia state, a state with a very high population of mixed breed Igbos (along with Ebonyi state).
Umuahia is a border town to Akwaibom so it has a high population of mixed breed Igbo/Ibibios.
afara has no meaning in Igbo language. Afara is an Ibibio word for 'shoulder'.

Nigeria is not the Zoo Nnamdi Kanu is talking about.

Orji Uzor Kalu has no reason whatsoever to support a Northerner.
