even if we failed in diplomacy, did we in any way wage war on anybody? no! even odumakin said so. we want it to be done peacefully okay?

so in yoruba land, if someone gets insulted and fights, he deserves to be banished or killed?

Its very funny how people rush to condemn drastic moves of others while they sit and say nothing about the nonsense of the other party.

The useless IPOB has been going about dishing nonsense.
Drawing useless maps.
Claiming lands thats not theirs an they can never get.
Creating tension and hatred.
Heating up the polity
Many people denouncing them as an invitation to anarchy

Selfishly Stopped commercial activities that affected mostly those not involved in their craps.

Their own home is not even settled or united.

These people talking now pretended they didnt see the excesses of the jaundiced ipob.
Now another party has started its own, threatening, they found their croaked voice.
Where were they when the jobless kanu was preaching violence on his useless radio?

Nonsense.

I say it again. At the end, Igbos will lose most
Igbos will Curse kanu and Ipob.

Quote me.

You're insulting and fighting other people. Hope you lot can feed yourselves? Cos if the north refuses to send food to you folks again, you'll start crying genocide.
Bleep them northerners! were they feeding our fore fathers before the creation of this lugardian contraption called nigeria? Bleep their fucking rotten cum filled food!

The Igbos have really insulted the other tribes on their quest for Biafra. They could have called for this referendum without insults, that way tensions wouldn't have risen like this.

You can be rested assured, if the War breaks out between Hausa/Fulani and Igbos, Yorubas will not be joining any of the parties to fight any war, we will simply use that opportunity to peacefully and diplomatically declare our separate state from Nigeria.

I will advise the Minorities in the South to come together to form their own separate country likewise the minority in the North. They should not join any of the major tribes(Igbos,Yorubas or Hausa-Fulani)
so because of mere insults, we igbos deserve to die in war? i think your lying. i think the more tangible reason for your assumptions is the fact that the access to your free oil money will be cut of if a referendum is done today, not insults!

if we leave, we will know who will suffer it most.
National assembly has failed to address the ravaging issue in the country.
Referendum is the only way to solve this problem.
let people decide where they belong.
This is democracy.
I learnt that yorubas are of the most educated tribe in Nigeria but my sadness is why they are openly supporting this blooding sucking northerner especially here on Nairaland.
Let me just believe that certificate is not common sense.

Ojukwu fought for the freedom and independence of his people and that is why thw vast majority of his people and that makes him a hero for us.

You may call him a coward because he didnt stay back to die but for us, him fighting hard for three years against impossible odds makes him the bravest Igbo man ever.
You are very funny. Any man can do what he did if given the opportunity, but no sane igbo man will be willing to let 3.5 million people to die for his beliefs, I mean, whom will you rule at the end?. people like you call jonathan a coward for conceding defeat, but jonathan is head and shoulders above your hero ojukwu times 10. why? because he relinquished power to save the lives of his people! if he wanted a second term, he would've got it,No power on earth could stop, but he also knew that thousands if not millions of people will die in the process. that's a real hero, not your impulsive, megalomaniac and demagoguery coward, ojukwu ( according to the americans). if ojukwu were the leader of the yoruba and hausas, wouldn't you be happy that their people were killed? if ojukwu sacrificed his personal liberty for biafra, I would understand, but hey he ran away! why run away if you know what you want. not only that, he contested elections in Nigeria thereby completing his own humiliation!. think deeply bro. don't be impulsive and emotive like your 'hero'

Fighting is for Nigerian not Biafrans. 50 years ago, Ojukwu told Nigeria that instead of fighting and killing each other, a referendum should be conducted so the people can choose. Gowon started shouting 'one Nigeria' and started a war by ordering troops into the Eastern Region.

50 years later, Kanu and IPOB are once again saying referendum so that the people can decide

Again, you Nigerians have started shouting 'one Nigeria' and talking about war
you are beating around the bush. ojukwu didn't demand for a referendum, he unilaterally declared biafra, undermining gowon's authority in the process. if you were gowon you will do what he did! After all, ironsi dealt with boro. and please don't ever compare kanu with ojukwu again. ojukwu never sacrificed anything for biafra but kanu has sacrificed his personal liberty and has paid his dues. Also, 3.5 million people didn't die for his beliefs

Ojukwu who sacrificed his people to fight a war he could never win. He played on the thoughtless brashness of his clansmen and abandoned them towards the end. They are quick to draw blood and even quicker to play the victim.

That is how you become a hero in Biafra.
Don't mind my fellow Igbos. they still see him as a god who can do no wrong just because he declared biafra. well, I don't blame them, I blame gowon for taking over the schools in the eastern region from the missionaries and teaching them stupidity!

What many may not know is that Ojukwu had a Masters degree from Oxford when he joined Nigeria Army and he was also the first Graduate to join,so he reasoning was way above his contemporaries and for those thinking that he was selfish, his father was the Dangote of that time,so he had much to lose, patrotism was the key and such brave men as he are rare.
the only thing he learned at oxford is how to sacrifice 3.5 million people for his inordinate and destructivelust for power, a power he was not willing to sacrifice his liberty for

Ojukwu must have had a very forgiven heart.
Ojukwu cannot have a forgiving heart because he didn't lose anything during the war. infact He is a very very very very very very wicked man for sacrificing 3.5 million children. the darkest part of hell is reserved for him forever

People should be able to trust at least, most of their leaders. They can be brought back to sanity if people speak up against their negative tendencies. I should think that leadership is won by substance rather than by wealth and financial worth.
That's a no no for an igbo man. you must have money to be qualified to aspire for leadership no matter how wise you are! igbos till today still believe the lies that ojukwu sponsored the biafran war with all his father's money so they still see him as the ultimate igbo leader despite obvious evidences of destruction his impetuous and megalomaniac actions did to the igbo race till date! we igbos can best be described as a race of women!

The very ingrained attitudes of flattinos is what you stated here. You even displaced cowardice by not coming clean but your opening sentence tells where you belong.
The yoruba have gone beyond giving a hoot whatever steretype anyone may make of them.
But while you do it, always have it at the back of your head that payback time MAY come.
Yoruba and Hausa/Fulani are the only major tribes in this country were involved in ancient wars. Warring is embedded in them and experience has thought them that it's not by noise and brawn but by tact and wisdom.

If Ojukwu had been yoruba, i doubt if the yoruba would've welcomed him back talkmore of presenting him as a presidential candidate.
He might've been lynched. The yoruba hate treachery. Recall that Obj was stoned in Abule Egba area by his own people by his unity-prone attitude to governance. He was initially banned from coming to Ibadan. The major cause of "wetie" in the SW was daddy Akintola's role in the political coup otherwise the yoruba would've confronted the north directly but don't fight a war when your opponent has friends amongst you called "enemies within".
Ojukwu betrayed Effiong to die his death asking him to fight to the death but the man was wiser.
The only major betrayers of their peoples' course in Nigeria are Azikiwe, Ojukwu, Ifeajuna. The same attitude is being played out by SE governors and NA and States assemblies
members vis-a-vis the biafra agitation. Imagine what would've happened if they have all added their collective voice to the agitation.
If Awolowo had compromised his people, he wouldn't have been persecuted and gone to jail.
Other non-yoruba members of NADECO, except Chief Ezeife, abandoned the noble course for filthy lucre. The yoruba stood their ground and confronted Abacha headlong without bearing arms and conquered him and his gestapo
machine. And that was inspite of the fact that MKO was not really in yorubas' good books for his role in the 2nd repiblic.
Whoever therefore choose to call such a tribe cowards obviously needs his head examined.
We Igbos have a hero problem. we tend to venerate our leaders as if they are gods thereby overlooking their many mistakes, just like women!

This is one of those rare times I'm agreeing with Reno. He has said it as it is. Igbo seem to have this exaggerated self-ego and hubris. The man has provided good fact to back up his claim - Ojukwu ran away; Gowon remained in Europe after he was toppled - unlike the duo of Obj and Idiagbon. Tthough I don't like tribal politics and I'm not even a Yoruba, but I think this should shatter the false vintage of my Igbo brothers (I'm not Igbo).

Are you guyz one people?
Do you know how many constituencies lie in the territory biafra wants to claim?

Ask Eritrea
Ask South Sudan
You think the Ijaws would watch you guyz lord over them in your Biafra for up to 5 years without also contemplating a pull out?
Do you think the Ikwere man in Port Harcourt sees himself as Igbo?
How many Anioma (Bendel Ibo) in Delta, wants to die for Nnamdi Kanu?
Without the oil in the South South, u guyz can't survive
Go and study the demography of Nigeria very well, the Igbos thrive mostly by establishing businesses OUTSIDE their region. Check Gabon, check South Africa. With all the massacres in the North in 1967, you'd expect the Igbos would never return there.... alas! As soon as the war ended in 1970, they returned with full force and remain there till today. It goes to show you depend more on other people other than yourselves for survival yet you are agitating for separation. Is that not foolish thinking? The Nnamdi spearheading this stupidity wasn't even born during the first war. He won't be in the frontline when police use live bullets to disperse protesters in the coming days or weeks. He'll be in a bunker or hide away like Ojukwu
Only the foolish will die
Don't ever compare ojukwu with Kanu. Kanu will never abandon his people
