Ur design is atrocious, dismal web graphics, d layout is poorly designed, ur top banner image is actually hurting my eyes, d moving menu buttons r poorly designed and the pixel resolution is to low.

U need to redesign d whole website, d concept is alrite I kinda get wot ur on abt but u need to work on the overall design layout, its piss poor.

Heres a tip: Stop using forum templates !! build from scratch my friend , it gives u more room be innovative and creative. If u cant do it on ur own den assemble a web design & development team. If not ur just wasting ur time..ur better of farming..its actually more productive.

Nice design layout...but u cud do better especially in a number of areas. Luv d TABS...cud work a bit more on d logo..Sup wit d many many scrolling effects ..one is enuf..two just distracts d eyes. Ur login in registration is looooooooooooooooooooooooooong, limit it to around let say 4 input fields i.e: Name, Email, Phone Number and Address e.tc

Make the size of ur menu links and fonts a bit bigger, heres a tip : use % or em instead of px. And ur menus...since ur using a light blue background go for a darker color or make the background a deeper shade of blue and use a light color for the fonts.

All in all I wud give u a 4 out of 10. Luv d commenting in ur CSS file by way..dats d way to go

Before I forget, research on RESPONSIVE design since ur client business model is partly focused mobile users.

@Yawatide D problem is there r alot of HACKS in Nigeria today, dese hacks believe that once they learn how to create a HTML page through w3 schools therefore they are automically web designers. The know nothing about a process driven methodology or even how to write a decent web proposal.

Then again in a funny way, these hacks kinda makes it easy for professionals like us who follow the mantra that be d best at wot u do n success will look for you. My most recent jobs were actually initiated by the client who had their websites done for dem in the past at ridiculously high prices and very poor service delivery.

@OP This reminds me of my previous job role as a Systems Analyst with a top IT consultancy firm based in the UK. As part of the day 1 of a 3 day interview, we were tasked with building the hang man game using PL/SQL. I was among those that were lucky enough finish it, but the whole point of the exercise wasn't to see who could finish the exercise, but rather it was a test of ur analytical skills.

@delmos luv ur UML diagrams, gud to know dat some people in this field in Nigeria actually know how to properly design apps, not like the hacks u c on dis forum trying to pass off as IT professionals

@op using google chrome u right click on the page, click on view source. Once u've done this u shud be able to view the source code of the page, if u want to view the external CSS files that was used simply click on the css link and google chrome will open up the css file in another tab for u.

Sure, in regards to http requests and responses, u minimize as much as possible the number of HTTP requests that your app makes to the web server. The logic behind that is each HTTP request to the server and its corresponding response eats up CPU usageside (server ) and introduces incremental delays, so by minimizing the amount of HTTP requests you lower the amount of CPU usage and incremental delays thereby optimising ur app and preventing server overloading as well.

As for the use of the timers, it is a way of benchmarking ur app, setting up timers in different code sections of ur app can find out with part of ur app is slow and optimising that section according. Another use of timers is to set the maximum time that an app should carry out a request, especially a server request , so if takes 2 secs to carry out a particular request, u cud write a function that stops that particular process if it exceeds more than 2 seconds.


@dualcore How can a physically located dedicated server be more reliable than a cloud based one?? Thats not possible. I dont think your ever had the chance to use a cloud based server, cuz if you have, you would know the amount of redundancies that are implemented. Im talking about master-slave/master-master configurations in conjunction with a backup database that is based in another location (the backup process is even done via satellite), Im talking about standby generators (2 not even 1), Im talking about underground bunkers. Lets not forget the number of technicians, both database and network , that are looking after these systems 24/7/365 and even the security personnel as well.

So how can a cloud based server be more reliable than a physically located server ?? Its not just possible.

To prove the point; why didnt Safaricom, the company behind the MPESA platform (largest mobile payment platform),go for a local dedicated server ? They have the technical and financial capability being a major telco company in sub Saharan Africa, instead they hosted the application on a cloud based servers being hosted by a British company called Rackspace. This is a financial application that demands 99.9% availability.

@every_one For all you folks attempting to build the app in python there are four critical aspects that need to be addressed in ur app;

1. HTTP Requests and Responses
2. Timers (dayhawk has already shown how this is done in PHP)
3. Multithreading
4. Thread Synchronization with Locks and Queues

@seun Im guessing you will be carrying out a stress/load test in order to ascertain which script meets ur criteria.If you need help running these tests let me knw, u knw hw to get in touch with me.

What is involved is basically sending HTTP requests for an object, up to 20 concurrent threads have to be used (these simulate the number of users requesting for a resource at a particular time, u can then scale from 20 upwards after the initial run, 20 is the general benchmark you start from when carrying out these kind of tests ), these threads will be ramped at even intervals of over 150 seconds. So as soon as a response is received by a thread, another request is sent immediately. After all the threads have started and uve reached peak load, the test is stopped and results are then collated and analysed.
