Ait, you can accomplish this effect, linear gradient, using Adobe Fireworks. I tend to use Fireworks for graphic designs especially in creating web graphics cuz its quite easy to use . U can get a 30 day trial version from adobe's website or u can try downloading or buying the cracked version (CS5 is hard to crack,  u can go for Fireworks CS4 or CS3 versions)

Outline of steps for applying linear effects >>

1. Place a rectangle, same dimensions as the image, over the image

2. Set white as the color of the rectangle.

3. Apply a linear gradient effect to the rectangle,a linear gradient effect normally uses 2 or more colors depending on wot u want, however for dis particular effect I used only one color (white).

4. Reduce the opacity of the rectangle by 8-10 percent so that the image which is behind the rectangle shows.

I currently in the market looking for a 3G Modem Wireless, which is basically a small device into which you insert a 3g enabled SIM card and it automatically becomes a wireless access point.

Ur gonna need a very gd 2D graphics editor like photoshop for creating textures ,backgrounds etc. For 3D, Maya is commonly used. Try searchin for d crack version of these softwares either on the piratebay website or thru a torrent application like Ares. If u cant get these softwares online, I would suggest u go to your nearest APTECH or NIIT centre dat offers graphic design courses n if u ask arnd im sure u will meet someone dat cud sort u out wit d softwares n may be a couple of tutorials n pointers.

@lisenced: Could you let us knw why we would need a software in the firstplace to tell us wot a bottle of washing up liquid contains Theres a piece of paper at the back of the bottle that has that info!

Use the Internet Archive Wayback Machine, its very good. It will show you the exact date the website went live (not the date the domain name was registered) and how the website looked in the past as well (http://www.archive.org).

Another method is to install the Alexa traffic rank application on your web browser (Chrome), it has a direct link to the Wayback Machine web application.

@luckyCO : since your running on windows ultimate 7 your best bet is find the MySQL connector/.NET that is compatible with your version of windows.

@luckyCo: There have always been problems concerning MySQL drivers not showing up in Micrsoft ODBC's package, right from Windows 2000 and XP. Could you provide more details of the error concerning  MySQL Connector/NET not being able to connect to MySQL when you use date/time fields.

@luckyCO: Well, since you want connect to a MySQL database from a .NET application, after having properly installed .NET, the MySQL database, created a user and granted its privileges. You will need to use a connector package,which is a piece of software that acts as a bridge between a database and a programming language.  The name of the package that enables .NET based applications to connect or access a MySQL database server is : MySQL Connector/Net (http://www.linglom.com/2009/03/06/accessing-mysql-on-vbnet-using-mysql-connectornet-part-v-install-mysql-connector-net/).

Well Symbian is an open source OS that is used by Nokia for their series 60 and series 90 range of smart phones. For development of applications that will run on Symbian devices, the S60 platform , which is open source, enables developers to develop applications and services in Java (J2ME)and even adobe's flash.

As for Java, I wont go as far as saying that Java has a mobile OS,  but the Android mobile operating system is based on Java. Although this OS is Java based it does not directly support J2ME , the reason being that the Android is more or less an alternative to J2ME. To build applications or services on the Android platform you will need to use the Android SDK which is free as it is also an open source platform.

However if you want to design a single mobile application/service (most likely Java based) that will run on both Android and Symbian operating systems, you would have to use the latest  J2ME SDK that has support for J2ME to Android Bridge adaptors (J2AB).

Well instead of putting the images in a database ,an easy way is to put the images in a folder and then store the image links in the database. But if you want to store the images directly into the database you have to set the column data type of the table you wish to store the image to BLOB, and also you should create additional columns in the table which will store the name of the file and type of file be it .gif, .jpeg , .tif e.t.c.

The reason why you need these additional fields is that BLOB is a data type field which comprises of binary data only, you will also need a to develop a method/class to break down the image file into a binary stream (in java you will need to use the binary stream and buffer methods to do this) and store it as binary data. Then when your calling the image from the database , you will need another method/class to reconstruct the image file based on its file name and type. There are a couple of examples on-line that you could look up, but I will recommend using the folder method as it is much more efficient and convenient.
