thelastorca: you no get phone? make a video of yourself removing the items from the boot of the car. make sure you have a camera app that supports location and timestamp. take photos as well.remove the items from your car, and go.
i am sure uber also has options for reporting bad riders.
i am honestly inclined to think these stories are made up because even your regular kabu kabu driver will not carry passenger items. Now I understand why you're mad at our posts/comments here. That his experience with the rider is quite terrible and bad, but on a scale of 1-10 it's not even among the top3 of things we see from riders. If he had confronted her aggressively to take her things of his car, it won't seem as bad as we see it now. And she would have turned back and pick her things up. |

I personally have no issues with a driver who cancels, but cancel on your driver's app. If you depend on the riders to cancel so you can continue your business, then ....... That meins you wee sleep Dia.

BAZ001: I want to assume most drivers don't look at the riders ratings again. Once I see u have a low rating and you are a lady, I will just prepare my mind, if your tune on d phone is somehow I will either cancel without telling u or go their and ignore any insult. I've dropped a unilag girl before with plenty loads in d booth and she said oga pls help me bring my bags to d house and she went inside. I sat in d car for minutes not knowing what to do? Las las I carry bag inside oh. Saw her gisting with her friends on bed. Uber says I shouldn't do that, but did it for peace I'll take it to Uber office as forgotten item.

Mrsefe: Good morning all. A card trip/ride was ordered on taxify for my grandmother . The driver took her to the location and requested for cash of 3000 claiming is the cost of the fare. He was acting to be in a hurry that my grandma couldn't call me but had to pay 3000 to him. I found out in the evening of that 29th and called him and he claimed he didnt know it was a card trip that he will refund. We had a chat too. Called him all through yesterday but he refused picking. The trip was even actually 2400. My grandma feels so bad and wants her money back. How can someone be so mean to cheat an old woman of 80+? This is an extreme theft. Please make sure you report him. |

The moment her request came in, I called and used ma all through my conversation even till the point I discovered the trip isn't gonna be profitable to me. I noticed the rudeness in conversation but decided to suck it up, Las Las na my money I go collect. The moment I told her the reason why I couldn't make the trip, She got even more aggravated and ended the call with a hiss. So, if I reply in same manner she did, I perfectly understand the context of her words. don't mind all these psychologists we have here. |

radautoworks: She was rude, definitely but let's try to see the other side for a second. It's 12am (there are legitimate reason why she could have been out at that time before criticism starts), she needs a ride in a somewhat remote location, she thinks she has one then the carpet is yanked out from under her. It's possible he wasn't the first one she had gotten who had also cancelled, she's frustrated and he just got it. She may have just gotten in an argument with her man and was upset and just wanted to go home, etc..
Again, she was definitely out if line but it doesn't necessarily mean that was typical behavior for her. Before you respond, read below and think.
https://theoatmeal.com/comics/believe Shey it's not typical of her behavior? Buy it's typically drivers behavior to cancel trip/request for offline?? Last night I got a request from justrite iyana ipaja around 6:30pm, called rider to ask where he was going and he said Ayobo. Started trip and was seeing Ota Express. I shouted and asked him why he lied, he apologized and begged me not to end the trip, that's it's not actually so far from ayobo. Being that I stay in Egbeda, I decided to go after the plea. We got to his destination 8pm trip ended #1800, but got stuck in traffic on my way back due to bad road, I got to Ayobo around 10:45pm and got home around 11:30pm. If I get such trip tomorrow and decide to ask for offline based on this experience, someone will come here and be asking for how to report an uber driver. |

radautoworks: I'm more informed...
..that I pay my people to much
Just joking. My people deserve all they get and more... Most of the time.
It makes sense why people resort to some of the things they do. But it doesn't change that sometimes it's penny wise, pound foolish. One has to think of ways to cater to that demographic. If it means in the future having a budget brand separate from our main brands that strictly deals in "rigging" and tokunbo parts to keep you going with full disclosure, that may be an option but one would have to do research to see if it is worth the potential problems. Yes, we know how to rig but don't.
At one point, EgunMogaji2 was talking about potentially opening an American style junk yard. If something like that was available, that demographic would be a lot easier to serve.

okiyi: Haha I thought u were with me until u said: It is the ethical thing not to do.
Fam I'm not here to start another "moral/na me holy pass drama" though as the recent ones unnecessarily and annoyingly dragged for too long when those who brought it up started digressing. At least I'm a driver partner myself so I'm not here to form bad guy. I know this thread was created for Uber/Bolt driver partners to share their experiences/challenges on the job but it shouldn't always end there. Let's always put ourselves in check when we see the next man doing something improper as that's the only way this country would be a better place someday. I only felt the need to react to that user's contribution because he said he "picked the money, hurried into his car and zoomed off" without caring to know if the rightful owner had been somewhere around looking for the money (assuming the money wasn't his). The average Nigerian blames Buhari for EVERYTHING currently wrong with this country yet the average Nigerian is a more horrible "Buhari" in the community they live, at their place of work, church/mosque ETC. Do you know most local government chairmen frown at residents/resident associations that try to fix damaged roads? You know why? Because they spend less than half the amount allocated for these community road repairs so when you fix the road and they are unable to make demands to higher authority how do they embezzle? The average policeman despite being paid salary on time still goes about harassing and extorting innocent Nigerians. I recently heard of a case where a doctor in a public hospital referred a patient to a private hospital because he claimed they couldn't handle the case there (in the public hospital) .At the end of the day, that same doctor was the one to handle that patient's case and the private hospital actually belongs to him. We all know of the 999 other ways Nigerians aren't doing what's right but they keep blaming "the government". WE ARE ALL THE GOVERNMENT. About 3 weeks ago, after I dropped off a rider(female) I looked back only to realize she forgot her phone (iPhone) on the floor of the back seat. Fortunately I hadn't gone too far and immediately turned back to return it.. Na small remain make she dey roll for floor dey thank me lol. Omo let me not make this too much of an epistle and just end there cos there's so much more to say but let's just all always try to do what's right. Bless. May your days be long.

deedee44: That's how one rider told me before she even came out that "it's a short trip and estimate says N500, if it's above that she won't pay" I told her to come, when I start the trip I will do manual calculation and give her my own estimate. When I calculated the fare manually it was 600 and I told her, she insisted that it was 500 they showed her, I just realized madam had only 500 and didn't know how to say it. I then told her "don't worry, since you've informed me beforehand I will collect 500" I ended trip and it was truly 600, I showed her but collected 500. She was grateful and all smiles You're a true comrade. |

So today i have done another 7 trips, fares better than yesterday, that's 20 trips already. Will i get a notification about the reduced commission (3 %) or Sundays don't count for a new week trip count? or should i write them to ask how its done? You're almost there bro. Luxurydriverng: There is no need disclosing that information, uber alerts the riders wen the fare is surge fare. And if you get to destinating and rider refuse to pay let dem go Uber is one of the most secured ride sharing platforms I've ever come across.
As for the other ride sharing platform I wish all riders can be made to pay via card. For 2weeks now, I've not had a card trip on taxify. The kind money that I'm owing them now eeh!! They may send me their account number soon. |
