thelastorca: if a driver misbehaves, i report him, if a rider misbehaves you report him as well. it is simple. it is not about disliking.
why is it that so many of you can only think backwards? a person reporting the wrong thing is wicked, is an enemy, is a bad person, does not understand.
you are free to hate and dislike me. if i believe an employee/partner of a party i am doing business with is trying to play a fast one, i will report.
if i go to a fuel station and the attendant is trying to run game - i am calling their hotline straight if i go to a store and someone tries to sell me expired stuff as new - i will report it if i go to gazzuz or rdautoworks tomorrow to fix my car, and one of their employees is trying to run game - rest assured i will be telling them straight up this is what is happening. the employee is free to call me all the names he wants, even go to his church or mosque on the matter.
you don't want issues, you RESPECT yourself and do the right thing. you do the wrong thing and you get busted, you man up, chin up and face the consequences, rather than whining about wicked people who do not 'know what you are going through' May I test your integrity and professionalism as you claimed with this simple request. Please don't Quote me again. |

peeps4u: Your head dey there.
There was a time Otedola took Molue, though some might say it was a public stunt, but it is a confirmation these people also occasionally go for normal lifestyles as every individual.
Beside, I don't even think any top CEO who put his hot line or biz line on Uber or any ehailing platform. I don't even use my main line for this hustle. Anytime it rings I know it's a rider or Airtel that's calling. |

ajoks533: Please let's forget this argument before it will linger like the last one that Spartacus initiated.
The truth is this, riding uber depends on individuals and the state of their minds and needs per the time of request.
A top notch CEO can decide to ride on Uber and still have his security details with him... Maybe 1 or 2 and you won't even know. Some even sneak out just to have that freedom you and I have, without any security personnel body checking every of his movement... Or do you think they too don't do nkoro things?
It's true a very high profile CEO must and is always advised to follow the guidelines of his security details to avoid stories that touch. However, remember Hon. Rotimi Amaechi when he was the Governor of Rivers State used to ride around the city on a motor bike doing inspection on projects. I had a chat with one of the security men assigned to him then. He said he doesn't give any signal that he wants to move, he just mount and speed off, they have to start making radio calls to track him down.
We just give too much value to people in this part of the world, that's why we don't believe these people can decide on few occasions to live a normal life, even if it's for just 30mins. Moreover, no be everybody know everybody, even when you hear their names on a reg... Like me, If Otedola or any of his child or whatever takes a ride with me, I won't even know, cos I don't know him in person or taken note of how he looks. , I once carried D'ja from mavins record Head office to Banana island, I didn't know she was the one till we entered Banana island gate. If I had known, what will I do? She's not even the one that made the request. So the issue of exposing your contact is defeated. |

PuZZyNegro: You solve maths in a complex way bro.
Simply put - multiply 10900 by 0.2 (20% = 20/100) to get 2180
Deduct 2180 from 10900 to get 8720
Add 300 to 8720 to get 9020 It's still 3step formula bro. |

If I make 11200 and pay a toll of 300 and my net is displaying 9020 please can I get more light on this? #11200 - 300 = 10900. 10900/100 = 109. 109*80 = 8720. 8720 plus 300 toll = #9,020. |

On approaching the toll one Shouted, oga why did you follow this place? Me: what's wrong with this place? Rider: cos we will pay extra #100. You should have followed the other one. Me: is #100 a problem to you. Rider: yes. Do you know if we have money? Me: I will discount #100 for you at the end of the trip. Rider: Thank you sir. Some things are negligible bro. |

pope191: Boss I never said she was wrong, this is a case of logics and ignorance either from me or her part... If she have a case, she should forward it to Bolt and let them do the needful, I didn't even check to know if the app display toll gate added, all I told her is I'm going to take displayed fee... Need you know (I may b wrong), bolt do deduct 20 percentage from total fees including toll gate, Dats 60 naira, which account do you want to to bring that from?
I've seen both fair and unfair part of this hustle, I don't use saka or have the intention of cheating anyone, like I once said, I won't place myself at the receiving end to please riders (or all riders). Bolt don't take commission from your toll bro. You can always check this thing yourself. When you close work, calculate the total tolls you paid, substract it from your revenue. Divide the remaining from your revenue by 100 and multiply by 80. Then add the toll to it. It will give you exactly what is showing on your Net earning. Eg. You made 15k(tolls and commission inclusive) Your paid #900 toll that day. 15k-900 = 14.1k. 14.1k/100 = 141... 141*80 = 11,280. 11280+900 = 12,180. 12.18k is what your net will show if you earned 15k and paid 9h toll in a day. |

nitigriti: Since you don't understand, let me try to help you. No driver or rider should use Uber or Taxify's stringent working conditions as an excuse to cheat any of the platforms.
If you get a trip to a place you don't like, cancel and move on. You would be a thief if you now told the rider "let's do this trip offline." Same, if the rider requests you and says, "let's do the trip offline." Off-lines are ethically correct only in those instances when the platform cannot provide the service the rider wants; for example, multiple stopovers over several hours during the day (Uber says 15 minute wait in-between trips is the max) or rider wants a car he or she can use for the whole day (both platforms don't support long — 2 hour or 3 hour — trips).
And when, as a driver, you cancel, be self-aware. Understand how you are impacting the platforms with your cancellations and keep them at a minimum. This is why both platforms bounce drivers off as a warning when cancellation reaches 20-25%.
I haf try. If you still don't get it after this long sermon, then something is wrong with me. Looks so likely. |

thelastorca: I will say what my boss said once, if this job was easy, you would not be doing it. Every job has great days and horrible days. My commute to work used to be Orile. I have been robbed there once, once on Xmas eve, they came close but I had already sighted them and taken evasive action, several times boys tried intimidation and I showed craze. Can you tell them at work I can't make it because road is bad? I have slept over night at sites. I have used my own money on projects.
I am simply saying you have to go the extra mile. And it has to be an attitude.
We had a project years ago in Ijora. A real mess. Towards the end we were in crunch and it was hell. The contractor had one guy who had been disturbing all of us to assist him with employment. The guy just vanished as the going got tough. I cannot kill myself. Meanwhile there was a youth corper who was working overnight, dropping his own money to make things move. After the project we had a vacancy and I called him without him calling me. I told him all he needed to know and we engaged him. This was five years ago and he has been on the system since in one way or another.
He could also have said not my problem, I am not paid enough for this, they are cheating me. He would have been right and he would have missed the opportunity that materialised.
You do not always know who your ride is.
And you do not always know when opportunity is knocking You've said well. Just like you said, if this job was easy? Drivers won't be cancelling requests nor as for offline to odd locations. |

Dovehorizon: Quite entertaining I must say (the back and forth that birthed over ten pages)...
What makes us human is the ability of self-analysis, mental time travel, imagination, abstract reasoning, cultural establishment, empathy and a lot more. Going by the above statement, every driver gat the right to accept or decline a trip if it does not suit his/her itinerary... We live in a country where we are deprived of social amenities, our taxes are not being used for its purpose, for one to survive, you only do not have to work hard but to work smart hence the cancellation of certain trips and I see no reason a rider would be upset if a driver says no to his/her destination. It's only a robot that would accept every trip without having an issue and the last I checked that's not possible in this part of the world.
As for the driver who proposed an offline trip, yeah he was wrong to have asked for that, if the rider had proposed it then it would have bin different.
Let's stop throwing tantrums and try to be civil the way we go about things. @Izzou, I really do commend you sense of reasoning, nice one bro. Izzuo is more matured than he knows. The way he handled the situation with octopus Makes me like him and support his mission with Pocohantas. |
