I don't understand your point. Both of us seem to be flogging a dead horse.

Let's allow the horse rest in peace.
The dead horse here should be Octopus.
But it has refused to die and rest in peace.

We get his point but have you noticed that once in a while, his ilks shows up here and it always ends up with cocky and condescending submissions. I've also noticed that those with such complaints here never let go, always boast of great achievements in life but always have ZERO emotional intelligence.

That aside, the points listed for offline trips are valid. Now the riders who request for offline, are they also fraudulent?
Let me stop here for now.

I also did Uber during down times for 5months last year.
Nice point.
BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by donfortune48(m): 12:38pm On Oct 20, 2019
Dear ornicus,
Everyone here agreed that the driver was wrong for requesting for an offline with you, even those attacking you. But what many are trying to explain to you is that, reporting him to uber seems somehow, quite harsh do to some justifiable reasons in relation to our experience on this job.

Over 70% of uber drivers (even those that supported you) don't like going to festac, satellite town and amuwo odofin for some reasons. rubbery incidents, heavy traffic, bad roads along that way.
you'll likely pass through Babs Animashaun going to festac from gbagada. Which is one of the worst roads in Lagos.

Most people don't negotiate offline just to cheat Uber.
Most times we negotiate offline to justify the risk we're taking for that particular trip. Risks related to possible robbery along that route, or not getting a request back, or passing through bad roads that will possibly damage your car, or getting stuck in an unexpected traffic that will affect your day etc...

I've once negotiated for an offline to amuwo odofin cos there was traffic from Orile to Festac. So I explain to my rider that I will like to follow middle lane to alakija, then go through Festac to amuwo Odofin. We got to the destination rider was so happy seeing the traffic we avoided and added 1k to our agreed fare.

We're not trying to justify Evil. We're only trying to tell you to be flexible in reasoning.
That driver must have had over 5trips on uber before your trip that day, but he didn't negotiate offline with them. So you just need to understand that there might be a reason behind his request for offline which could not be exactly what he told you.

I know you may not accept this explanation cos you don't do Uber and you don't know what we see daily.
I know it will look like convincing Dru23, who sees the job as a blessing, that the job is not easy, when he don't know how to hold a steering....

...but please think otherwise and don't be stiff in reasoning.

My brother I never recall me and you spoke at all.. .. As per my terms .. I have the best terms than any partners out there.. My cars are 30k weekly and I do all repairs both minor and major.. My drivers don't pay kobo for any repairs at all.. And my cars are tokunbo cars not naija used that has changed hands from one owner to another. So I dont know what is rough about my terms , unless make I give car for 15k weekly o .. So my brother we never spoke at all ... And plus I don't have any cars available now , but I will be adding another Tokunbo 04 civic in November.. So if you agree to my terms we can set up an interview and go from there..
Uncle.
This one you didn't talk about your female driver. grin

Sorry bro.
Some days are like that.

I came out 11am today. Had 3trips and ran back home cos of what I was seeing on the map.

I spent 3hrs on a trip from oshodi to Egbeda. ...spent about 1hr on a stand still traffic.
Lucky that rider was carrying a baby and she said no AC. So my engine was off for that 1hr.

Some days after work, I be searching my car and pockets, thinking that I've misplaced money.

You'll make 12k in a day.
7k on uber..
5k on Taxify..

3k card trip on uber..
2k card trip on Taxify..
2.5k transfer...
1k on food, water, airtime..

Time to buy fuel, you'll be looking for all these money like..

With this recent development with uber. I have ported back to driving taxify. They re the lesser evil for now.
All I need to do is chopping those there lil bonuses once a while to cover for there commissions.
The only BONUS wey I don chop for taxify is the '1k for first trip bonus'.

. U should have turn it to offline
I didn't know that the guy had plenty Waka for mind.

Got a request from Golden Tulip oniru to eleganza estate.(CARD TRIP). Got to destination and was about ending the trip, rider said don't ooh! You're taking me back. I happy small. He changed destination to ilupeju and I thought he's going to his house.

When we finally got to ilupeju, I was about ending trip, and rider shouted again don't, you're taking me back to the hotel.
On our way back, he said I should check traffic to Lakowe, that he need to go and check something there. I shouted this time.

He asked if I'm tired, So that I can end the trip while he looks for another person so I go home and rest since I told him I don't work beyond 10pm.
I shouted again (tiredhuh At this my tender age?).

Na so we proceed ooh!

Trip ended 14.35k.

Uber get mind collect 3.45k

Taxify is only decieving drivers with the 10% increment in fare as in actual sense it is less than that; 200 basic fare remains, #10/min remains that only increased to #65 from #60/km (I'm not sure of this #65 sef). In many cases, no increase in fares (if compared to #60/km).

While they are obviously earning more from each min fare which remains #500 and drivers earn less from fares of #500 to #1,000 in most cases
I've been analysing my trips since this their latest update.
I think there's slight increase in fare price.

nothing spectacular about the increase, the real increase is around 3.5% of ur earnings after deductions.

So for every #1,000 , you get around #30-35 on top
Taxify just want to increase their earnings without affecting drivers' regular earnings.

I agree with your post up to a point and have to chip this in briefly:
There is a reason why there are 3 seat belts at the back.
And there's a reason why your car will fail Uber inspection, even if it's only one seatbelt that's not working.
