blackpanda:
From what I've read from both sides it seems both Garba Shehu and Fr Mbaka are telling the same story from their own perspective.

Garba Shehu: Fr Mbaka came to asorock to beg for contracts and Mr President rebuffed him that contracts should follow the laid down laws on procurement. That this is why Mbaka is attacking Buhari

Fr Mbaka: I did not beg contract from anybody. I went to asorock with CONTRACTORS to demand that Buhari complete the hospital he promised during campaigns.

My verdict: Fr Mbaka went to asorock to demand Buhari award contract to his contractors. Buhari saw this as being strong armed by an ally and resisted his demands.

Bottom line: as the administration is coming to an end, Mbaka decided to grab his own piece of the pie before it's too late!

No matter how u spin the story, it is illegal for a private individual to give contractors to the government. That's clearly corruption. Even if u want buhari to build hospital, the contract would be advertised and qualified contractors will be selected following the Public Procurement Act. It shouldn't be mbaka's business who gets awarded the contract. So long as the hospital is built. Besides, was the said hospital captured in 2021 budget? From which purse will the hospital get built

Bad business for iboman. We talk am that time that this mbaka is a fraud but who cares. Even the mbaka is now singing another tune. Shameless fool

Celebrities / Re: Who Wants Baba Ijesha Down? My Analysis Of The Punch Video. by Dong2: 10:10am On May 02, 2021
Penguin2:
Disclaimer: I do not support rape, child molestation or anything in that league. This is purely rational analysis of Punch video and not a defense for Baba Ijesha nor is it support for sexual harassment.

With the above disclaimer stated, can we delve into the matter...

So I just watched the over 7mins censored video posted by Punch capturing Baba Ijesha’s infamy and I beg to state my reservations.

1) I do not think that girl I saw in that video is 14. Pardon me, it’s just my thinking which might be wrong. But that girl looks somewhere around 16.

2) In Nigeria, the age of consent for women is 16 and not 18. It is adulthood that is 18 for women but 16 is their age of consent legally. That’s the reason you will always read those fighting a rape case claiming their victim is either 11, 13, 14 or 15. Yea. Think back, have you read of any rape case where claimants said the victim is 16? Lawyers in the house can help clarify us further.

NB: By rape here, I mean the abuse of a minor and not the general context of rape. Because in the general context of rape a 90 year old granny can be a victim of rape. I know.

3) Watching the video, I saw Baba Ijesha repeatedly express this surprise in his face like, “why are you behaving like this today”? A critical examination of that expression will tell you that those two have been having a thing which was why Baba Ijesha was surprised that his usual partner was now playing hard to get today.

4) Was there really a use of force? Yea, I understand the mean made some seductive touches but does that constitute force?

5) It was all planned out. Why was there a camera focused on that sofa of two? Why did everybody leave the house?

What did Baba Ijesha do to Iyabo Ojo and co?

Conclusion
From the foregoing, I beg to conclude that Baba Ijesha and the said girl are regular sexual partners. Maybe somehow, the girl’s guardian got wind of it and pressed the girl until she confirmed having an affair with Baba Ijesha. Now, instead of the said guardian to call Baba Ijesha and question him privately or caution him, they asked the girl to act nothing happened and play along with them to capture the event on camera and release to the world.

I do not support crime, rape or molestation of a minor but should we suspend reason and join the herd to destroy a man whose colleagues seem to have more against than just child molestation?

Penguin is a bird of reason.

NUHU RIBADU, FORMER EFCC BOSS,

WROTE-;

Bandits”” were created by Gen Mohammadu Buhari Rtd to oust Jonathan
Bandits are not Boko Haram nor Herdsmen

It all started in April 2014 when Mohammadu Buhari assembled his ardent supporters, promoters and strategists to determine how to remove President Jonathan Goodluck. Prominent amongst them were El-Rufai, Gen Danbazo (Rtd)……..

A decision was reached to consult Miyatti Allah cattle breeders association for assistance to boot Jonathan Goodluck out of office. Consequently, the National Chairman of Miyatti Allah was engaged to bring in foreign mercenaries. Within a month, 2,000 Fulani fighters were brought in from Mali, Senegal, Niger Republic, Chad, Libya to name but a few. Further 4,000 fighters were stationed in Niger and Chad on standby.

On arrival, they were assembled in Kaduna under the sponsorship of El Rufai and were addressed by various Northern Leaders including the Sultan of Sokoto, Gen. Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar (Rtd) etc.

Specifically, Gen Buhari in his address told the fighters that “the British handed Nigeria over to us the Fulanis at independence. The land (Nigeria) belongs to us. We must reclaim what belongs to us.”He added that at the event that Jonathan Goodluck worn the election, the Fulani machinery must fight until they regain control of the country. He assured them that the Nigerian Army was behind them.

The mercenaries received initial training from the Commandant of the Nigerian Defence Academy and were sent to 6 camps in Ekiti State, Benue State, Katsina State, Kaduna State, Zamfara State and Borno State.

In the camps, brand new pick-up trucks, generators etc were provided them. Nigerian Airforce helicopters were used to provide them essential supplies like food, water, drinks and even arms and ammunitions.

Evidently, Jonathan Goodluck lost the election in 2015 through a well orchestrated election organised by INEC under a Fulani Chairman, Professor Jega. Gen Buhari (Rtd) was sworn in as the president. This saw the emergence of a Fulani president through a dodgy election hence the planned violent war was averted.

Contrary to expectation, the mercenaries in the various camps were abandoned, no more food and essential supplies. The relationship between Miyatti Allah, El Rufai (now a State Governor) and Dambazo broke down. El Rufai arrogantly declared that they were not needed anymore and they should go back. Consequently, the killings in Kaduna commenced as a warning to El Rufai but it did not bother him. He declared that he had paid the people carrying out the killings and they did not want to stop. The Nigerian police did not bother to call Gov El Rufai to give further clarification on this.

The Mercenary at the various camps decided to go about to find food for themselves by robbing people, going into farm lands and kidnapping. Miyatti Allah made several efforts to contact El Rufai and Dambazzo to appeal to them to provide money to return these fighters to where they came from. All efforts proved abortive. The mercenaries at this point vacated their organised camps and took to crime.

The criminal gangs which emanated from these mercenaries were at this point described as “Bandits” in order to differentiate them from other notorious terrorist groups like Fulani Herdsmen, Boko Haram etc.

Following the untold destruction and killings which the Bandits carried out especially in Katsina and Zamfara, the Northern leaders in conjunction with officials of Nigerian Government requested Miyatti Allah to intervene and remove the Bandits from Nigeria. Miyatti Allah returned demanding 150 Billion Naira to settle the Bandits and evacuate them. The Government turned the offer down and restricted itself to the payment of 100 Billion Naira.

Shamefully Godwin Emefiele raised 100 Billion Naira for the settlement as a condition for his re-appointment as the Central bank Governor.

Miyatti Allah collected the money and purportedly distributed it but

I feel very sad and shocked when I read the calibre of people that are mentioned in the story above in the conspiracy against then president Goodluck Jonathan and how much they were prepared to burn the country down not minding the effect on the nigerian larger populace. Its rather disheartening and unfortunate that this set of people that occupy sensitive position in the country and are called leaders, deliberately and willfully not only plan to compromise Nigeria unity and territorial integrity but also invited foreign mercenaries that has now become a monstrous menace to the country all in the name of politics!. An act that we are all paying for now at present with the consequent insecurity that surfaced in the aftermath of the failed promises to the imported armsmen according to the story. It is a profound callus act that should attract outrage both locally and internationally as well as prosecution by the DSS of these despicable so call leaders. Kawu Baraje former PDP national chairman and other sources also made similar claim as said in the story (an allegation none of the accused leaders have denied.). But for president Jonathan stateman action, Nigeria would have burn to ashes for all they care. Yet they are still struggling to be leaders in the country they sought to burn down. Little wonder that infamous statement attributed to president buhari in the pre-2015 election period that dogs and baboon would be soaked in blood if he lost the election. Hmmmm. A leader indeed! More like a sectional leader not a national leader. No wonder Nigeria couldnt get it right. Peace

Crime / Re: Suspected Herdsmen Kill Five In Fresh Attack On Benue Communities(photos) by Dong2: 11:04am On May 01, 2021
Insidenaija:
Suspected Fulani herdsmen attacked four villages in Gwer-West local government area of Benue State and killed five persons, Newspremises reports.

It was gathered that three others including a pregnant woman were reportedly injured in the attack that happened in the early hours of Friday, April 30.

The armed herdsmen were said to have escaped with gunshot wounds after troops of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) trailed them to the Benue Nasarawa border and engaged them in a gun duel.

According to reports, the herdsmen first invaded Ahume Village along Makurdi/Naka Road but were dislodged by the troops who then stationed at the village to ward off a possible attack by the invaders.

One of the natives who identified himself as Fidelis told Tribune that while the troops were patrolling Ahume community, the herdsmen went further to Tse-Nyarei Village and started shooting in all direction killing five people and injuring others including a pregnant woman.

The native said that the five dead bodies have so far been recovered by security agencies, while three others including a pregnant woman were rescued alive with severe gunshot injuries even as many were said to still be missing.

Fidelis said that the dead bodies have been evacuated while the wounded were also taken to the hospital for treatment.

“There was a distress call that herdsmen attacked Ahume village along Makurdi-Naka road. As troops stationed in Kula village were alerted, the bandits ran to another village Tse Nyarei where they killed three people.,” he said.

“Many others were injured. The soldiers followed and met the bandits at the river bank on the border between Benue and Nasarawa States where they exchanged fire with them. They however crossed the river and escaped into Nasarawa State.”

With the recent statement from the presidency to governor ortom, it is clear the Nigeria presidency has a hand in all that is going on in Benue and perhaps other states. I believe they are not only encouraging the attacks on Nigerian citizens but also financing it. Ruga is the ultimate goal! No one should be left in doubt about that.
Politics / Re: 65 communities In Niger state sign N20 million peace deal with B Haram by Dong2: 10:56am On May 01, 2021
nairalandankrah:
Following the confirmation of the presence of Boko Haram in Niger State by the Niger State Governor Abubakar Bello, it has been gathered that about 65 communities in Niger State have resorted to negotiating and signing a peace deal with the insurgent to avoid future raids.

This development came few days after the terror group displaced more than 5,000 villagers from their homes in some local government areas in the state.

Though the Nigerian Army said it was unaware of Boko Haram’s incursion into Niger State, Wasiu Abiodun, the police spokesperson in the state, said he could not dispute Bello’s claim about the influx of the terrorist group into the state.

He said, “The executive governor is the chief security officer of the state. Are you expecting the police to dispute or go against the pronouncement of the executive governor?”

The communities were said to have also purchased at least six motorcycles worth N500,000 for the terrorists.

Fulani using NIN to fight population jihad in Nigeria —Mailafia, ex-CBN deputy governor

The debate on whether the country should restructure or be divided is on. Where do you belong in this sir?

Let make it clear, I am an old Nigerian patriot. I believe in the idea of Nigeria. I am a believer in the Great Nigeria Project. I suppose those of us who are hemmed in within the Middle Belt do not have much of a choice. We have nowhere to run to, being caught and sardined in the middle. We see ourselves as Nigerians. And even if the rest of the country were to break up – if the North where to disappear into the Sahara and the South were to sink under the Atlantic Ocean, the Middle Belt will still be Nigeria, with our federal capital in Abuja. But I have read enough history and enough political theory to say that there are no guarantees for any nation on earth. The British historian Arnold Toynbee, in his epic study of world civilisations, identified about 22 of them.

Nations and civilisations have risen and fallen. And it will continue to be so, world without end. Leaders that make wise policy decisions will see their countries move forward; those that succumb to folly will eat the dust of their own wickedness. This is how the world works. So, for Nigeria, I do not believe in our eternal indissolubility. From the way things are going, some people are hell-bent on destroying the country. They are pushing forward their evil agenda of “Fulanisation and Islamisation”. They do not give a damn what anybody thinks. They believe they are in power and this is perhaps the last opportunity they have to reshape the country in their own image.

Through Pantami’s devious NIN palaver, they are allegedly importing millions of aliens and issuing them with passports, national identity cards and voter cards. They are fighting a demographic Jihad to ensure that the North is the demographic majority by subterfuge. And then they will have a free license to call the shots in perpetuity. They have allowed hundred of thousands of killers to invade our country.

They are everywhere now. Recently, Niger State Governor Abubakar Sani Bello, lamented that the terrorist bandits have overrun over 100 villages. Niger, as you know, is the largest state by size in Nigeria. And it is less than 200 km to Abuja. The terrorists have already occupied most of my ancient Savannah homeland. The gestalt and hermeneutics of this administration leads us to believe they have a closet sympathy for the killers of our people. One of them was quoted as saying, “as you know, we always rejoice when Christians are killed”. With these kinds of attitudes, we never trust them. We would always have to decode and psychoanalyze even their best intentions.

The tragedy of our situation has encouraged all sorts of secessionist tendencies, from the Old Biafra to Oduduwa and Middle Belt. Based purely on systems theory, there is no system that can take on so much pressure without something eventually giving in. Even those of us old patriots who love our country and desire its success and prosperity may be in no position to stop the madmen who are hell-bent on destroying her. If Carthage must be destroyed, then it is better for everyone to go their own way.

The only solution, as I see it, is restructuring, political reforms, devolution of powers to the regions and reinventing Nigeria as a forward-looking, progressive and prosperous democracy. The other alternative is death.

Since ruga failed they deviced a new plan to nationalise fulanis from all other countries into nigeria for Nigeria to become their country of origin.

Politics / Re: Is Nigeria On The Brink Of Collapse? by Dong2: 9:42am On May 01, 2021
Omooba77:
Torrent of help for India is flowing from different parts of the world.  The country has seen the worst spikes in COVID-19 pandemic during this current time.  India has a robust health system and yet still ravaged by the pandemic. The country has an enormous pharmaceutical presence than the whole African continent combined and still became insufficient to tackle the surge in COVID-19. It is interesting to note that the majority of vaccines have been manufactured in India and yet only few jabs have been administered in India; why the contradictory sequence?

The country has had hospital beds being shared by two patients at a time, isn’t that ridiculous? It is ludicrous to imagine that a nation like India that most African nationals throng for affordable health care is having this monumental health crisis.  The amount of capital flight from Africa to India is hugely stunning.

From the foregoing, it is clear that nations around the world have issues, and challenges at different facets of their life. The whole of India is united against COVID-19. I am using this as a precept to juxtapose what Nigerian state is also faced with at the moment. Banditry, abductions and terrorism are seriously creating incohesion and tension in the land.

Elder statesmen from different origins within the country are churning out different thoughts; some are toxic while some are patriotically driven. That is not even the focus here; the focus is what kind of help does this country deserve at this time?  It is understandable that some might use this moment to score cheap political points while neglecting that human lives are involved here. Some have used their God-given conscience to stand with the nation irrespective of their political divide.

Terrorism is a global pandemic as it is; virtually all countries have mechanisms in place to checkmate the influx of the problem into their respective domains. United States of America is the largest spender on war against terrorism in the world and yet, she is still unable to defeat the scourge in the regions she has waged war against it for more than 20 years, why is this so? It is arguably sufficient to assert that the Superpower to a large extent, decimated the trend but it is invariably still lurking behind shadows despite her huge resources committed to it. The question is, why is the menace still prevalent?

Does Nigeria appear to be on the brink of collapse? The materialistic tendencies to this question appear too glaring for discerning minds. During the regime of former President Umaru Musa Yar’dua, the agitators’ noise from the South South was too deafening to be discountenanced hence; he launched massive amnesty programmes, which practically killed the agenda. The economic impacts it portended were too burdensome and yet the government did not have any choice at its disposal other than to accentuate the plan as it were.

The seceding bids from the South West are disorientated but toxic. The South West represents the most educated parts of the country though the vast majority of its people are passively self-absorbed when it comes to Igboho’s clarion call in his futile quest to have ‘Yoruba Nation’ actualized. The agitation is dead on arrival without any equivocation!

As a Nigerian, I am perturbed and baffled at the rate at which the country is being dragged by her people; if she falls down to her knees, do we have anywhere else to go? Yes, the country is being dragged negatively by its people, while others should stand tall and make her overcome the staggering challenges.

At the twilight of Trump’s administration, the country’s Capitol was attacked by a certain mob orchestrated by the outgoing president in a bid to clinch to power by crooked means. Their patriotism was ill conceived though, but it was evident that their love for their country was supreme amidst conspiracy theory advanced by Trump.

As it stands, the similitude of our challenges is akin to a ship having its inhabitants at the lower deck having to depend on the people at the upper deck for water for survival. The lower deck occupants in their wildest thoughts might decide to punch a hole at the bottom to get water instead of having to ask the upper deck occupants. If the upper class passengers were to leave them to actualize this plan, all of them would get drowned.

People of conscience must rise up to the occasion to tame their respective toxic agitators within their region to lower the temperature else the whole country will blow up in pieces. We have no other place to call home other than this country.

As a Nigerian, I have nowhere to call home except this country. I have lived all my life here and I have no need to be a refugee

On Thursday, this newspaper exclusively reported Daudawa’s return to the trenches after he vacated his new abode in Damba, in the outskirts of Gusau.

Sources told our reporter that Daudawa was killed while leading his men on a revenge attack on boys loyal to another bandit called Ballolo.

Daudawa was said to have vowed to retaliate.

A source told Daily Trust that while Daudawa’s gang succeeded in killing some persons in the opposing gang, their leader was gunned down by Ballolo’s boys.

Mr Buhari’s media aide, Garba Shehu, claimed the recent spate of insecurity ravaging the state resulted from Mr Ortom’s rejection of Ruga settlements.

His comment came on the heels of the killing of Benue residents on Tuesday by killer herders. While reacting to the Tuesday violence, Mr Ortom had said Mr Buhari’s “action and inaction” was responsible, accusing him of Fulanisation of Nigeria.

However, Mr Shehu, in a statement on Thursday, claimed the governor’s refusal to adopt the controversial Ruga policy showed he did not value people’s interest.

The governor had rejected the policy describing it as deceptive and against the interest of Benue indigenes, who are predominantly farmers.

“Benue under the Ortom administration ought to cooperate with the federal government in the implementation of a number of national strategies programmes in addressing underlying issues militating against peace, progress, and development.

“This can still get done when the interest of the people is placed above all other interests. A government voted into office by the people should treat the people as its masters and not as its servants,” said the statement.

Mr Buhari also accused the governor of stirring religious and ethnic violence, accusing Mr Ortom of the divide-and-rule tactic.

“As Nigerians, we accuse colonial rulers of the policy of divide and rule.

“Today, it is our own leaders who pit region against region, religion against religion, ethnic group against ethnic group, and community against community,” the statement added.

They ll not end well IJN.

Just one sentence by you and it reveals a lot about your bad upbringing. You can't be well brought up and struggle to make a conversation without insults whether offline or on a faceless forum.
You should even show more decorum in a faceless forum because it is then your true type of upbringing is revealed.
AK47 is a high calibre weapon and they don't necessarily need to carry AK47 and if they face a more powerful opponent, they should be trained to stay safe and call for back up.
The most important part of my remark is an appeal to all the warring parties to please give peace a chance. No nation progresses in the midst of wanton killings and it's better to jawjaw than war war. Even the worst of wars still ended on a round table so why not preach peace before it escalates.
It is even unwise to call for a war where your homestead becomes the battlefield.

There is need for you to reevaluate what you just wrote here. You need to be more realistic.

A govt that loves cows more than its citizens

Link : https://punchng.com/a-govt-that-loves-cows-more-than-

The link above was an opinion piece written by one Akinrinlola Olumide on March 3, 2021.

I have taken this piece to show the biases of Yoruba Media Against Fulani People.

In this opinion piece, the writer is a yoruba media operative and did a bad job in accusing the president and fulani people for insecurity in Oyo state.

First the writer, called the president Major General, an attempt to make the president look like an authoritarian in a democratic and civilian state like Nigeria.

The writer went further in showing the readers of what tribe the president is, know that this same writer will accuse you of tribalism if you play the tribe card but here is he playing the tribe card against the president.

The writer claimed the fulani herdmen are the cause of insecurity in various part of the country without giving evidences. While the writer accused fulani people of criminality, he went on to praise a criminal called Sunday Igboho who gave an ultimatum to Fulani people a hero, he prescribed Igboho as the law of the land even though we know he is a pdp political thug.

Now the article went further to criticize the inspector General of Police for giving an arrest warrant to Sunday Igboho even though he knows that Sunday Igboho is trying to create ethnic tension by telling fulani people to leave oyo state.

The writer then went on to criticize the president for condemning some yoruba leaders on their actions against fulani people.

I wont bore you with some of the false allegations of the writer against fulani people but those who are logical can clearly see that the opinion piece was literally a bias article to create a war on fulani people.

I just wanted to show the readers what yoruba media are doing to tarnish the image of fulani people.

The war is against the president but they have found a way to put in fulani people in their media wars forgetting that most of their actions stinks of hate and tribalism.

You lack reasonable mind!
