Dangeneral: Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President, has revealed that Nigeria is suffering from lazy and uninspiring leadership.
In his New Year message addressed to Nigerians, Abubakar explained that asides from the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic in the past year, poor leadership is another cause of economic instability and insecurity in the country.
Why is it that Muslims in Nigeria are always trying to etch islam undertone into everything in the country. Now its Gregorian calendar as if Nigeria operates any other national calendar. What's wrong with these people sef. Anyone that does not like gregorian calendar should go and find their own country and operate what they like. Nigeria only recognise gregorian calendar as the only nationaly acceptable calendar... except if we are to divide the country nigeria remains a secular state. Why are they so twisted? Pathetic! No offence!
thebosstrevor1: Nnamdi kanu is a fugitive, a run away failed igbo revolutionary and marxist who created the eastern security network as an alternative to amotekun
As long as Nnamdi kanu is a fugitive, Eastern security network will be viewed as a terrorist organization, no igbo leader will publicly support this organization because it will be seen as supporting a terrorist organization.
There is no differences between eastern security network and bokoharam, both leaders are fugitives. One was against Christians, the other against muslims
The Nigerian government will treat eastern security network as a terror group that is trying to disintegrate Nigeria.
The only advantage of Eastern security network is that those igbo leaders who are against Buhari will use the group as a trojan horse to create a balance of power.
Miyetti Allah and herdsmen are all terrorist group
iwaeda: BAUCHI – The Bauchi State chapter of the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, has warned that henceforth, it will no longer tolerate the phrase, “Fulani Herdsmen Attack”, often used by Nigerian media organizations to describe its members.
The group added that the use of the phrase is uncalled for, ethnocentric and against the entire Fulani race who are known for hard work, tolerance and development in all facets of life.
This was contained in a press release which was signed by the State Chairman of Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Alhaji Hussaini Muhammad and made available to newsmen in Bauchi.
According to the release, the use of the phrase “Fulani Herdsmen Attack” is the highest form of injustice and ethnic discrimination being shown to the Fulani people who are citizens of Nigeria with full rights as protected under the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, ought not to be discriminated.
“The contribution to the well-being and growth of Nigeria by men of the Fulani ethnic group cannot be overemphasized. The Fulanis herdsmen were the only ethnic group paying the “Jangal tax” used for the developmental growth of Nigeria in the early years of independence.
“The cows gifted and those eaten as meat during festive seasons are all reared by Fulani ethnic group. Leaders of this country who are from the Fulani ethnic group have done so much to keep this country together for the benefit of all.
“The Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, Bauchi State branch wonders why the media despite it’s professionalism, could stoop so low to label an entire group as “attackers” and when persons from other ethnic groups commit more heinous offences, they are referred to as either unknown gunmen, bandits, ritualists, armed robbers, but not associated with their tribes”
“We observe there is no ethnic group in the entire globe whose men are all pious, as there must be a Judas in every twelve and where the said Judas is indentified, he should be called by his act and not his entire group as it’s been done to the Fulani ethnic group.
favor914: If you have joined ESN, you shall live a very long life, if you haven’t may your days & sympathizers be cut short abruptly, can anyone of you Cowards say a big Amen to that?
You are not fit for sensible human gathering. You need help
This is the problem with some of you. You are rather sentimental than being objective. You need to change that for us to make progress against common enemy.
South West did what? You made a tribal upstart the president! You defended him vehemently as he flooded all security positions with his tribal henchmen! You abused all those who warned you that this is a recipe for disaster! You pratically made it a criminal offense to vote against the new emperor! You keep quiet as his tribesmen turned genocide and ethnic cleansing into a national sport.... Then, when he started to train his fire towards you, all of a sudden, you start complaining and forming all sorts of amarphous organizations to arrest his wayward impunity! Would there have been any need to form all these organizations if you didn't make him the president?? You are now the smartest because you know how best to fight your own "creations"? Ndi mgbu! Just give us space ahbegi...
Buhari is Nigeria mistake not just south west. Remember some of your brothers are still with him as we speak. Okorocha and co.
dignity33: The ESN Ebonyi branch yesterday carried out a raid in izzi local government area of Ebonyi state after issue several warning to fulani herdsmen occupying their Land that make people of izzi fearful of going to there farmland, majority of them are from Gambia and Mali . They urge them to stop leaving in people farmland terrorizing the community rather they should go to town rent a house and leave like normal human being.
Be careful so that you don't get scammed here again o. You have already been scammed don't be scammed the second time. You have legitimate ground for official complain.
If I understood him correctly, his concern was not that the North intend to contribute anything meaningful but they just don't want to be dominated by the west.
Fortunately the North has achieved their single aim to the detriment of the county.
The man is a dullard that only has voice in nigeria !
adenigga: Elder Statesman, Alhaji Tanko Yakasai, has said the north rejected the motion for Nigeria’s independence by 1956, because it lacked the requisite human capital to face the challenges of self-governance.
Yakasai who served as Presidential Liaison Officer during the Second Republic, said this in an essay titled, “Leadership Question and the Issue of Nigeria’s National Unity, which he wrote to celebrate his 94th birthday, on December 31st.
One of Nigeria’s foremost Pro-independence activists, Chief Anthony Enahoro, who was then a member of the now defunct Action Group, moved the motion for Nigerian’s independence from British rule in 1953.
Yakasai, recalled that as at 1953, the entire northern region had only one University graduate, the late Dr R. A. B. Dikko, compared to the thousands in the Western and Eastern regions.
He also faulted critics of Nigeria’s current local government structure wherein Kano has 44 while Lagos with an equally large population has far less.
Yakasai said, “What I found very disturbing is that such utterances are directed against the unity of our country. Such narratives resembled that of some political leaders’ way back in 1953; when a member of the defunct Action Group Party, introduced a motion in the House of Representatives, asking Britain to grant independence to Nigeria by 1956. Another Northern member of the House proposed an amendment to the motion by changing 1956 to as soon as practicable.
“This was because as at 1953, the entire Northern Region, which had 75 per cent of Nigeria’s landmass and about 55 per cent of the country’s population, had only one graduate, Dr. R.A.B Dikko.
“At the same time, the South had thousands of graduates from different fields of expertise including law, engineering, medicine, administration, social sciences, etc. with about 90 per cent of the public services manpower in the North were made up of expatriates or Nigerians from the southern part of the country.
“Action Group leaders rejected the compromise proposed by the northern legislator in order to enable the north prepare itself for independence.
“This is because if Nigeria was granted independence by 1956, the North would be under the control of the civil servants from the South, a situation that will put the North under perpetual domination of the South, particularly people from the Western Region, which had the preponderance of the public servants at the time.” Source: https://m.punchng.com/Featured/Why-North-rejected-Enahoros-1956-independence-motion-Yakassai

*MEDIA STATEMENT BY THE AREWA YOUTH CONSULTATIVE FORUM(AYCF) ON THE SUSPICIOUS GANG-UP DESIGNED TO SPLIT THE AREWA COMMUNITY IN LAGOS, UNDER THE WATCH OF THE STATE GOVERNMENT*
Our attention has been drawn to the subtle attempt to deliberately create division amongst the Arewa Community in Lagos, through the backdoor, using the office of the controversial Kabiru Ahmed, the half-forgotten Waterfront Commissioner for Lagos State.
This avoidable friction amongst the Arewa Community is obviously engineered by anti-peace and unity elements under the supervision of the Lagos State Commissioner for Waterfront Kabiru Ahmed, while the State Government pretends all is well. Indeed, the silence of the Lagos State Government over this brewing crisis has created widespread suspicion that Kabir Ahmed, the Waterfront Commissioner was acting out the script of the Lagos State Government in disguise.
Pursuant to this dangerous move against the unity and brotherhood that has held the Arewa Community together for decades, we would like to state as follows:
1. The AYCF condemns in the strongest terms this conspiracy to create bad blood and destabilize the Arewa Community by creating wrong impression about Arewa Council of Chiefs' established succession process.
2. We cannot fathom what is the business of a Waterfront Commissioner with the unity, recognition and respect of the monarchs in the Arewa Community in Lagos. It is evident that the Arewa Community has no business with a Waterfront Commissioner who means nothing to our people and even less relevant to Lagos itself. We take exception to this senseless meddlesomeness of a Commissioner who is always anxious in crossing the lines, on matters affecting the Arewa Community. However, he is free to seek relevance elsewhere, since it I'd obvious his office has no project ideas and he is desperate for relevance.
3. We are worried that the Arewa Community has been asking questions about why the Lagos State Government has allowed a Waterfront Commissioner to dominate or hijack what should ordinarily be the role of a Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. It begs the question whether the Lagos State Government has an organized administrative structure or not. In a modern world governed by strategic communication, it is ridiculous that a Waterfront Commissioner would have the temerity to interfere with a matter strictly concerning the monarchy.
4. We would like to categorically state that this subtle attempt to disunite and destabilize the unity of the Arewa Community in Lagos would be met with legitimate resistance from northerners of good conscience within and outside Lagos. We will no longer fold our arms and watch the desecration of our traditional heritage in Lagos by a confused and desperate Commissioner, aided and abetted by a nonchalant State Government.
5. We say no to this sinister move in its entirety and wish to stress that enough of this deliberate and senseless interference with the affairs of the Arewa Community in Lagos. We have warned, whoever has ear let him hear. Our position is unequivocal this time and we are prepared for massive legitimate resistance to this unending, undue interference.
freeze001: What the hell is Buhari's train op? Did he buy it with his personal funds or did he take all the loan from China to repay in his personal capacity as Buhari? Why are some of you ass-lickers so dumb and stupid that you cannot even pretend to be remotely objective sometimes? Tueh!
Why all of una just dey vex like this now. New year is around the corner abeg.
This is front page worthy, the west are trying to label Nigeria a "failed state" which perhaps isn't, don't you guys think we need to proof them wrong?
So na oshodi you wan take prove them wrong? You are one of the reason Nigeria remain the way it is.
jaybenugo: A woman and her young son have been killed by gunmen in Nagu village, Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State, IgbereTV reports.
The armed men killed the woman, her son and her brother-in-law after razing part of Nagu village in the early hours of Sunday, December 27.
The attacks also left several persons injured while many have reportedly fled their homes to neighbouring villages for fear of being killed.
Confirming the incident, a former lawmaker that represented Katina-Ala East constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Mr Ianna Jato, said those killed in the attack were memebers of his family.
"The armed men came around 3 am, yesterday, and attacked Nagu, which is my village. They burnt part of the village after which they killed my brother’s wife, her son and another of my brother," he said.
“I cannot understand why they did this, but those behind the attack just called me a few minutes ago with the phone of my brother’s wife, which they took away after killing the woman.
"They said I should tell the military personnel who are in Shetile land to leave our place otherwise they would continue to cause mayhem and also continue with the killings in our communities. I have reported the matter to the Divisional Police Officer in Katsina-Ala and he is making arrangements to evacuate the corpses.” he added.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident.
