My head is not thinking right right now cos I'm going through a lot. I was in dire need of money for hospital bill when someone sent me some money due to my cries. Using ATM to withdraw it, I was debited but not dispensed. Going to 3 months now, the bank has not refunded. That money was to save a life but bank played politics with it.

What are my chances if I sue them for damages?

I wish more Nigerians would take up the challenge of suing banks. More and more Nigerians have literally given up on their money due to the failure of so called big banks to resolve and reverse failed dispense error issues. Unfortunately, the CBN which ought to protect bank customers have abdicated their responsibility, they issued a Circular in June 2020 revising the timeline for resolution of dispense error issues but till date, how many banks have been hit with punitive measures for failing to abide by this Circular.
The reason why so called big banks in Nigeria are plagued with mounting dispense error failures, is because the banks are unwilling to invest in technologies and resources that would entirely automate the process. The resolution of dispense errors is still largely manual driven and as the banking sector is currently ravished with experienced hands resigning in droves, there's a genuine shortage of requisite and knowledgeable manpower to reconcile and attend to these dispense error issues. Have you thought for a moment why some of the Fintechs are able to resolve dispense errors instantly and so called big banks are unable to. If some law firms can take up the challenge of suing these banks for damages caused to customers, there's no doubt in my mind the banks would be forced to sit up.

But why should a company that manufactures in Nigeria has its products inflate by up to 50% in the name of forex?
Don't you know these people get forex via form M at official rates to import raw materials?
Agreed there are delays here and there to get the form M fx but should that be the reason why their products should inflate by up to 50%?
This greed starts right from the corporation and continues down the supply chain.
Solution is to boycott and try alternative cheaper products.
That time you will see the so called corporations claiming forex this and that will reduce price and even do all sorts of promo untop to win back market share.
They do this because Nigerians have shown blind brand loyalty and helplessness.

I truly want to appreciate your insights on this topic. It beggars belief how Nigerians think that large corporations like Flour mills Nigeria, source their FX needs from the black market, therefore the crazy changes in prices is justifiable. For emphasis sake, these companies get CBN intervention windows for their FX needs, even BOI provides them funding at single digit interest rates. Recently,for about 3 months I had to stop buying Blueband margarine because the price kept skyrocketing to heights I just couldn't understand anymore. Can you imagine that the 250g of Blueband was put at 750, that's more than the price of a 450g Mamador margarine for 650 now. If the corporations want to help stem the crazy inflation and cheating of consumers, they should state the Recommended Retail price of their products on the products.If a seller decides to cheat me ,I can easily walk away and it would force them to act sensibly.

I can categorically tell you that the Teller didn't of his on volition decide to reject the old $ note, there is a subsisting internal memo from his bank's Internal Control unit that customers should be discouraged from "dumping" old series Dollar bills on the bank. This is usually the case because of the high cost of processing those notes which are usually rejected by other customers. Let's make an effort not to undermine the dignity of humans doing a legitimate job no matter how "inferior" we perceive such jobs to be. Every legitimate job out there contributes to a functioning society and to the OP of this thread, I like how you were able to assert your knowledge of the policies guiding our financial sector in a dignified manner to the bank staff.

Unfortunately, rates have dropped drastically, fixed deposit rates in my bank at the moment is 0.01% for all amounts, this is in line with current money market realities. So your 1m for a year would fetch you a paltry 1,200 Naira only, that can only buy you Sharwarma with no drink.

There's nothing wrong with online investment. He didn't reach out to them that's why he's having little challenge. It's even smoother, faster and better than offline. They reply faster than account officers offline that will be doing shakara to pick call. Online investors barely have any delay in receiving their ROI. All complains of delay is always from offline investors because of inefficiencies of some account officers.

try talking to her again. let her know it's affecting you too. listen to her, don't stop her when she's talking, let her bare her heart. some women miss that infant stage when the baby is still small and watching them take all their first strides. when you listen and let her talk, empathize with her and also share your own side. I understand that it is better to have one and give that one the best chance you can, than have two or more and not a good education or upbringing, etc. at the end though, when there's better understanding between you two, you can then decide on what new steps to take out compromises to make. you two can get through this. This thread mirrors my state of mind. I do have a wonderful Son and I'm frankly very happy with just him but Wifey has been reiterating it per sec ond that we need to try for a second Child, though I have rebuffed the idea for some time but she is now more than determined to have it as our son just clocked 4. I have used the outbreak of Covid19 as a valid reason for us to wait that the uncertainty in the world vis a vis the challenges on both the economy and the healthcare system but she's adamant. She has accused me of being selfish because prior to our marriage we agreed to 3 kids but though I said 2, but I'm reneging on that and not ready to try for a second Child.Oboy, the matter don tire me, I swear if my JT is itching for some activity and she ties the sex to trying for a child, my JT would just lie fallow and go back to sleep. Finance isn't really an issue for us now cause our jobs are still available and we both have a fairly good Savings. But me personally don't want to go through the stress of child birth again, the worries, health scares etc especially this period. I really wish there was Injections or drugs men could take to prevent them from pregnanting a woman, I have thought of Vasectomy but the likelihood that before the healing process I would be found out and it can destroy our marriage has made me jettison the idea.
