Health › Re: No End In Sight To My Medical Problems; I Might Be Dying Slowly by donj84: 12:09am On Jul 03, 2017 |
CrescentMoon: The first time I became aware of me falling sick was in 2007. I was 26 at the time. Since then it has been a myriad of medical troubles.
It has been cycles of malaria, bacterial infections, disc problems and headache. Every night, I take drugs before I could be able to sleep. I always have antimalarials, antibiotics, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and muscle relaxants handy. If malaria symptoms occur, I would take antimalarials and there would be improvement within minutes. And would then complete the dosage in 3 days. By fourth day, symptoms of bacteria infection would occur; I would take ciprofloxacin and get relieved within minutes. Once I complete the dosage, headache would strike, and once aspirin is taken, I get well. But I would keep repeating aspirin every night until gastric ulceration sets in. I would then buy omeprasole and cimetidine to treat ulcer. While ulcer treatment is ongoing, malaria would strike again, and I would take antimalarials. If antimalarials don't work, I would know that the symptoms are bacterial and take antibiotic. If there is no relief, I would combine antimalarials and antibiotic and there would be a relief. It has been like this since 2007. I don't go to hospital again because I have grown to know these symptoms and what doctors would prescribe.
For the past 2 weeks, I have been battling 'herniated disc' problem in my lower back. It started the day I bent down suddenly and I heard a snapping sound at my back bone. I started using norflex, calcium supplement and diclofenac. I feel mild relief because I can't stop my daily hustle to rest while the disc heals. If I dont work in a day, I won't eat or pay bills.
Note that I undergo HIV test almost weekly.
How do the poor tackle medical problems in this hellhole of a country?
Lalasticlal.a, please help me move this to fp. ITS ONLY GOD THAT CAN SAVE YOU QUICKLY WITHOUT EVEN SPENDING ONE NAIRA TO PAY FOR BILL, HE JUST WANT YOUR HEART TO SURRENDER TO HIM AND PRAY FOR HIS HEALING...YOU CAN MESSAGE ME IF YOU WANT MY PASTOR TO PRAY FOR YOU. Smellyfingers: I've a close female friend, we're very close that I know almost everything about her relationship.
There's this guy she is dating in Ibadan before she moved down to IIorin here. This guy do call her and he his trying immensely in this girl's life. He paid half of her School fees, buys her foodstuffs and so much more.
Fastforward, this same gal accepted the proposal of a yahoo guy (this same guy is my friend too), but we aint that close.. Whenever the other dude sent this girls money, she gives it to the other guy (yahoo guy). Though i don't know much about the other guy she's dating at Ib, but i do pity the guy because I feel he's being cheated on badly. The guy calls every secs, sent the girl his 'own' phone because he feels he's not getting in touch with her so much. The most annoying thing is that the guy is a barber that earns little. This same gal told me she has Never given this guy sex before but gives it to the other dude 'daily'. I couldn't take it.
So, Nairalanders. Should i call this guy at Ibadan and explain everything in details to him, or i should let it slide? if you have any means of telling him like you just think he should try and come check on her because you dont really understand the way shes very close to that guy, dont tell him straight, give him talks that will make him think of what to do...for example, you can tell him to call her when shes in the guys place, when he calls, then he should call you....if she mistakely says shes at home, then you can tell the guy shes not at home but he should not flair up over it until he can come to the school |

obowunmi: Hi everyone,
My name is Obowunmi. I've been a Nairaland member for many years now under different monikers.
I started dating this girl early January of this year however we have had too many ups and downs because I have not shown or told her that I have money. She thinks I am just a loser.
When I first met her, she was very nice but not anymore.
Once in a while, I buy her expensive gifts but I haven't divulged to her what I do, the type of job I have or any of that stuff. Maybe this is her reason for being so heartless.
Over the months, we have had one altercation where we didnt talk throughout the month of May. Today, I've had to block her on WhatsApp and other channels because she is just mean, doesn't communicate, would rather spend time on twitter than talk with me.
We have kept our relationship secret so far and my heart is heavy and I think at this point, I'm tired and ready to move on.
I like her. I really do like her. But I dont know what else to do. I dont want anyone to date me for my money so I will not tell her that I am a multimillionaire.
Pls I need your help. I am tired of it all. My heart is heavy. I am ready to settle down. please first of all!!! are you the christain type of guy if yes does she fit into the kind of lady you want to have as a wife...mind you sex can deceive you that you love someone while it is just lost.. call and and yiu guys should have table talk, ask her her plans for the next five years, how her lifestyle is and how she grew up, with that you can know what she wants!!!! take her to a normal restuarant that is not flashy and tell her you want to go into serious relationship with her and hear what she wants to say, pls DONT EVER LET HER KNOW YOU HAVE MONEY OOO OR ELSE YOU GO HEAR AM LATER |

Christianity Etc › Re: My Pastor Ordered Me Out Of The Church During Sunday Service by donj84: 6:40pm On May 28, 2017 |
edidiongmichael: What Happened To Me On Sunday Service In Church
What's your candid view on this?
Recently I joined a church, I know how to play piano but not really well. The church has a standard pianist that plays literally on every church's event. When they discovered I knew how to play, they gave me the opportunity to be playing at least 2 times a month. Honestly, I didn't see myself as a church worker because I've never been to their meeting before. I only play when they tell me to otherwise I stay at the congregation. Last Sunday, I wore a shirt with a suit trouser and a sandals to church, then I wasn't expected to tuck in my shirt with a sandals. When I got to church, the pastor ordered me out of the church to tuck in before coming inside and instructed the ushers to not let me in until I tucked in my shirt. The church was still on and I got so ashamed and embarrassed. Everybody's eyes were on me during that time.
As confused as I was, I angrily left the church that moment to another nearby church.
Then I started thinking, Do we really have to tuck in our shirts to show how holy we are in church? What do you think had prompted the pastor to order me out? Do Christians have a dressing code? Will I be judged on the final day for letting loose my shirt to church? What's your view on this? oga what the pastor did was right!!! now before you listen to people advice, everybody spiritual level is different and also every church has their own dress code...though this talk is not meant for online debate.. now every church has dress code and if you playing a piano, you inderecting part of the chruch workforce and therefore you to dress as a worker...dont leave the church, that might just be were your blessings is located...dont let anybody deceive you that you can get blessing everywere!!! check how your life has improved since you joined the church...yhe pastor expect at your level you should know the right and the wrong!!!! finally, God and a president, who is bigger ? if you want to go have meeting with president or even interview, will you dress casual like that if you cant, then why will you dress casual going to have fellowsgip with God?? |

I'm still a teenager but through with my high school. So i decided to look for money and i got this job to work as supporting staff at a microfinance bank. I worked there for 4 months and stopped working Yesterday after receiving this month salary. I travelled today to register for jamb from my salary and when i got back home, my mum said my boss came looking for me that i must submit my resignation letter. I wrote the letter and gave it to him, he collected it and returned it telling me that i must return the salary. He said i should have given the company one month notice before i would have been eligible for my salary or else the company will come to our house and seize some property. I told him to show me where those terms were written in agreement i signed, he got angry and started calling me names and threatened me. Please what should i do, abeg help me.
NB: I left because of my boss(branch manager) and the remaining loan officer started asking me to do jobs that were not part of go tell your pastor of imam so they can talk to him the next time he comes to threaten you. if he come to seize your property, look for any law firm and they will fight for u,and they will charge him for damages and intimidation.if he even try it, know you have hammer because he will pay for damages and its not small money the lawyers will ask him to pay |

Livie2016: Hello,
Would really appreciate some words of advice please. I'm really sad. No judgmental posts posse.
I conceived my first child when I was dating my boyfriend, now husband and then we got married shortly after I fell pregnant. We had planned to get married even before I got pregnant but when I got pregnant, we then decided to bring the date forward. It was a very difficult period for me because my mum really made me feel bad. I repented to God from a heart of genuine sincerity and sought his forgiveness which I received by his grace. I fell short of the glory of God but God forgave me and had mercy on me.
Fast forward to a year plus after my wedding. My son is now 6 months and we would like to dedicate him in church. We have however been told that the church will not accept him for the regular dedication process where the parents dance out to the front of the church alongside close relatives and friends. What the church has said is that we can only do a private dedication service in a different room after the service. I'm devastated.
My son is innocent and pure. He was conceived from a sinful act but God has forgiven us. I've now been happily married to my husband and father of my child for more than a year. Is it therefore fair for the church to treat my son like he's an outcast and not worthy of being celebrated openly and publicly?
I feel so humiliated and wanted to cancel the dedication and do it in a church where h will be openly celebrated and received as a wonderful gift from God which my darling son is. My husband has accepted it but I'm struggling to do so. The church is supposed to be about love. What is the biblical basis for saying that my son cannot be pubclily dedicated?
Would really like some views here. Should I cancel the dedication and do it somewhere else or go ahead with the private/ secret dedication?
Many thanks for reading. i understand their point. doing that open dedication will make other people feel it save to get pregnant outside wedlock. they are trying to send a message to other people...note that wether they dedicate open or close, it wont change its destiny...how many men of God or great men have you held they even talk about whether they were dedicated openly or close, because it dosnt have any effect on their destiny. all this are all human created events...so think more about your child future than open or close dedication |

she234: Hello everyone, I started working in 2013 after completing the compulsory NYSC. I finished with a 2.2 although narrowly missed out on 2.1.
I got a job in a funny industry (logistics and supply chain). I thought the industry was funny because I had hoped to start working in oil and gas and earning good six digits from the first day, lol. I picked the job earning 5 digits as a contract staff and started learning the rudiments of logistics. Although there were times the salary was very discouraging, I stayed on the job because I wanted to build my experience. I remained a contract staff for over a year but gained good experience. Although I was offered permanent employment with improved pay, I wasn't satisfied because I knew deep down in my heart that I deserved more. I Was very loyal to my bosses and kept fighting on my knees and got some cool certifications.
My job came by referral, A foreigner that has worked with me before headhunted me, I didn't need to undergo any form of interview. My interview was just a chat, briefing me about the new role and the profile of the company I was to join. My new salary is more than 3 times what I earned in the previous company with other mouth-watering benefits attached.
I kept praying for a ''miracle job'' the whole time and also told God I didn't care how he would do it. I got disappointed many times after going for interviews with my experience and wasn't called back/got regret mails. I didn't know God was preparing mine to be a complete miracle.
Thanks for taking the time to read this post and I sincerely hope my story can inspire someone. Happy Sunday!!! congrats to you sir. its trully God indeed that gave you that job and the same God will substain it for u and promote you to better one when the time is come..i key into your testimony too..God always perfect his promises |
