After Buhari swept the Presidential elections and with it, the Senate & House of rep, every one assumed Mimiko was doomed if the pattern of voting was repeated in the House of Assembly elections which was to come a couple of weeks later.

On election day, APC were cornered shocked when Mimiko sent raw cash to polling booths and people were given 2k each to vote PDP candidates. Result? PDP won most asssembly seats & all APC's plot to impeach came to nothing.

This is exactly what is going to happen in November. PDP agents will stand within view of the polling booth. If you vote PDP, you get your immediate 2 or 3k.

With this approach & in the current economy, many who left home vowing to 'vote out PDP' will collect the raw cash & vote PDP. To them, that 3k will make a pot of stew

This is getting interesting.

As unporpular as Mimiko is right now, I believe PDP has a better chance of winning in Ondo than APC come November.

However, should Jimoh by any means, legal or otherwise, be the PDP candidate, APC will win handsomely.

Unfounately, APC currently has well over 30 candidates going into their primaries.

More importantly, the election will be decided by money.

Mimoko is ready to spend whatever it takes on thst election day. APC candidate will simply not be able to match him. Buhari does not allow Federal funds for his party's elections (which is good), & I heard from a credible source that Bourdillon is exasperated with Ondo people & so will not be funding the election.

Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim on Thursday obtained the Peoples Democratic Party nomination form to vie for the governorship seat of Ondo State.

He was the first aspirant to pick the form from the factional National Chairman of the party, Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff.

While speaking at the occasion, Ibrahim promised to defray the salary of workers in the state within 100 days.

He stated that the Chairman of the party’s National Caretaker Committee, Senator Ahmed Makarfi has no locus in law to lay claim to the chairmanship of the party.

He said that Sheriff is known in law having taken over from Alhaji Adamu Muazu who resigned as national chairman before the expiration of his tenure.

Jimoh stated that he would better the lots of the citizens of the state by ensuring prompt payment of their salary.

He described governors who owe workers salary as people without initiative, adding that Ondo State has over 10 solid minerals which he would tap to develop the state.

He claimed he has over 8000 workers in his employment, and assured Sheriff that when he visits Ondo State after he (Ibrahim) would have won the governorship election, the state would have assumed a better look.

He said, “I will restructure the state in the area of capacity building, good innovation and by putting the right thing in the right place at the right time.

“I will pay the workers within the first day of my 100 days in office.

In his reaction, Sheriff said he had known the aspirant long ago and assured him of his support.
