funny guy. But to be frank with thee my brother, i think the nation today is being faced with challenges. We are trying to forget about Boko Boys when fulani came up with their wahala and today we are facing another Militancy who called themselves the avengers. cktheluckyman:Collective efforts and support is what we need to give this government. But have you asked yourself this question? The militant, is it not their own home they are destroying? Who are they helping in destroying and bombing. The nation today is not even thinking about oil. Agriculture is the order of the day. Have you been to the market lately? Today, kano state remain the best in tomatoes production, go to the market and price tomatoes today. My guy, forget them. |

Simon Utebor, Yenagoa The umbrella body of Ijaw youths, the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, has condemned the nefarious activities of a new militant group in the Niger Delta, the Niger Delta Avengers. The IYC spokesman, Mr. Eric Omare, said in an interview on Monday that the group did not see the justification in the Niger Delta Avengers embarking on destruction of oil facilities and wreaking havoc on the region’s environment. However, Omare appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to go after the real culprits and not the innocent communities and people in the region in his government’s efforts to unmask the characters behind the new militancy group. The new militant group in the oil-rich region, the Niger Delta Avengers, has claimed responsibility for the recent attacks on the SPDC platform at Forcados, the Chevron Okan platform at Abiteye in Escravos, and the pipelines transporting crude oil to the Warri and the Kaduna refineries. President Buhari has set machinery in motion to uncover those behind the recent bombings of oil installations in the region as well as an express directive to the military to halt the return of militancy in the region. Omare stated, “We do not see the justification in the Niger Delta Avengers embarking on destruction of oil facilities because Chief Government Ekpemupolo, alias Tompolo, denounced the group. “I think Tompolo did the proper thing by coming out to inform the entire world that he was not part of the NDA when there were insinuations to the effect that he was behind them. ” As with other cases of attack on oil facilities, the Niger Delta environment and people are the ultimate victims and would suffer from these latest attacks. The IYC believes that irrespective of their grievances, there are better ways of expressing them rather than contributing to the further destruction of the already massively degraded Niger Delta environment.” On the threat to crush the militants, he said while the IYC did not support the attacks on oil facilities, it hastened to add that it should not be used as a justification to attack innocent Niger Delta communities. Omare added, “The security agencies should go after the real culprits and not innocent communities and people in the region. From our experience, the security personnel in a bid to impress their superiors and justify the huge amount of money budgeted for the purpose, always attack innocent communities and people. “This must not be allowed to happen this time around . We would also advise the Federal Government to be prompt in directing security agencies to deal with insurgent groups all over the country including the Fulani herdsmen who have been killing innocent Nigerians just like they have just directed in respect of the Niger Delta Avengers.” http://www.punchng.com/militancy-go-real-culprits-iyc-tells-buhari/

The Police on Monday cordoned off the premises of Edo House of Assembly to avert possible breakdown of law and order. The News Agency of Nigeria reports that more than 10 Hilux patrol vans and an Armoured Personnel Carrier were strategically positioned within and around the state assembly complex. There were also regular and mobile police operatives positioned at the three entrances to the assembly to prevent access into the complex. Already, workers of the house of assembly have been prevented by the police from getting to their offices. The Police Public Relation Officer in the state, Mr Abiodun Osifo told NAN that the action was taken to avoid repetition of what happened last Wednesday at the complex. The crisis erupted on Wednesday after 16 members of the assembly removed the erstwhile Speaker of the House, Mr Victor Edoro. Edoro was replaced with Mrs Elizabeth Ativie. Suspected thugs, loyal to both sides, had after the speaker’s removal, taken over the assembly complex and engaged in a shooting match. http://www.punchng.com/breaking-police-take-edo-assembly/

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has invited former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, to appear before it. A statement on Friday by his media aide, Jude Ndukwe, confirmed the invite. The letter was dated 6th May, 2016 and it was signed by one Mr. Mohammed Umar Abba on behalf of the Acting Chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Magu. Ndukwe told DAILY POST on Friday that, “the EFCC wrote a letter of invitation to my principal, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode this morning, asking that he reports to their Abuja office on the morning of May 9th for a discussion.” Ndukwe added that, “This is the first and only letter of invitation that Chief Fani-Kayode has received from the EFCC and it puts a lie to the shameful allegation that was being peddled around that he had been served with an earlier invitation which he had shunned and that he was running and hiding from the Commission. “The letter of invitation was delivered to his Abuja home and he has responded promptly through his lawyers by assuring the EFCC that he would make himself available on Monday morning to assist in their investigations.” Cc: lalasticlala

“It is, therefore, irrational for anybody with perverse mentality to say that they should bring back corruption. The truth is if Jonathan had won the 2015 election, by now Nigeria would have completely become a failed state like Zimbabwe with huge inflation rate of N10 billion, or probably all of us would have to carry our little belongings to seek refuge in neighbouring countries. Only the blinded ones will see the level of corruption under GEJ led administration and still clamour for his return. Quote me or call me any names and don't expect me to reply you. Freedom of speech is allow, but freedom after speech i can't assure you. ![]() |
Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee on War Against Corruption, Prof. Itse Sagay (SAN), Thursday declared that Nigeria would have completely collapsed like Zimbabwe had former President Goodluck Jonathan won the 2015 presidential election. The radical lawyer while expressing his disappointment at the level of corruption that reigned during the administration of Jonathan, said by now the country would have been under the yoke of ferocious economic disaster if the President Muhammadu Buhari administration had not emerged. Sagay made this stand in Abuja at the anti-corruption summit organized by the Open Society Initiative for West Africa, in conjunction with ONE Africa to brainstorm on issues ahead of the May 12 global anti-corruption summit in London. While lamenting that corruption was fighting back in Nigeria very vigorously to frustrate the current anti-corruption war of the Buhari administration, he disclosed that those fighting back were corrupt Nigerians with huge war chest at their disposal. Sagay said: “Given the unrestrained stealing and the enormous economic pillage under the Jonathan administration, it is not a surprise that the Nigerian economy is lying prostrate. The present administration needs time to fill in the big holes that were left by the previous administration. “Nigeria would have witnessed a ferocious economic disaster if the Buhari administration had not emerged. All that is going on now is the rebuilding process of the economy that was so destroyed by the previous administration. Those praying for the return of Jonathan should thank God for not answering their prayers because it would have been a terrible nightmare. “We must be patient and rational in our thinking for the inevitable change of the Buhari administration to come. It will surely come, but it is not a magic wand.” http://dailypost.ng/2016/05/06/nigeria-would-have-collapsed-if-jonathan-had-defeated-buhari-in-2015-sagay/
