However, where you make up as much as this for a child modelling products for other children of her age is downright excessive, inappropriate and very wrong. She doesn't need to have her eye lined or paint her lips red. |

Admin401: By nature. Ever heard of the golden ratio? It's all about symmetry. Beauty is not judged by skin color. Nah! Not nature. Some people decided that only certain ladies with certain physical stature can be supermodels. To be that, you have to fit yourself into those straits. The fact that you call some people supermodel is even a misdirection. Not everyone looks like that hence they cannot be the standard for every other person. On golden ratio, there is a golden ratio that fits even curvy women too. Bottomline, Vogue was very wrong to edit her that way. |

Admin401: You think its easy to look good standing next to those firstclass models?
Go carry your head and stand next to them and see how ugly you'll look standing next to them. By whose judgments/standards are they first class? The world? You? They? More like a cabal of people with an agenda. |

ariketalks: This guy (whoever he is) said the bitter truth albeit in an offensive way to many. That Vogue cover is TERRIBLE. We love Adesua, but it raises concern that the image had to be altered so much and poorly so to make her look like the stereotypical "black woman". It is myopic and grossly unintelligent for anyone to think all black people are darkskinned. Adesua looks unrecognisable in that picture, and they even mischieviously positioned her where she can easily go overlooked. If i had seen the cover elsewhere, i would never have thought that was Adesua tbh. I am sure she knows just like everyone else that the picture has been heavily adjusted to make her look that way. Same thing for the cloth they gave her to wear. What you should know is that she had no input after the picture was taken till it came out live. The mag editors are the one to approve the edited piture not Adesua. However, saying she looks like a slave is arrogating the blame to her. He should have channelled his grievance towards Vogue. In placements such as this, A list celebs get to see and vet the final edited picture before it goes into publication. Vogue, I am certain, wanted to blight her but the jokes on them and silly people that support useless lifestyle they're pushing. |

lawnreigh: Good Day NLDers, I saw an earlier thread created by a nairalander over his 4 months experience staying in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. China. I know most of Nigerians are really desperate to leave the country, Its true that tuition fees of Chinese schools are cheaper and getting admission is easy. I will give everyone a very important advise before considering schooling in China as a self sponsored student.
1) It is illegal for all International students to work in China, people do work true but the fact its that there are 2 major jobs for foreigners in China which is English Teaching and Working in entertainment industry i.e in Clubs as Hypeman, bouncers etc which are still illegal. If you are caught working as an English teacher on student visa, the first time, you will be fined 10,000 rmb while ur hustle is at most 200rmb per hour. If you are caught the second time you will be expelled from your program and deported to your country. Also note, its hell of a task to get teaching job as a black African in China because they are racist and only want white teachers to teach their children.
2) We all here stories about Nigerians been arrested in China for drug peddling and how does it starts, most Nigerians resort to going to clubs after finding it difficult to get a job, that is where they meet drug cartel that tell them to peddle drug because it the only way to survive since they cant get a job. The implication is that once you are caught peddling drug in China, the maximum sentence it comes with is Death Sentence, many Nigerians are on death row in China but you wouldnt know because Chinese hardly report exxecution in the media, China has the highest execution rate in the world, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia only report execution to scare off drug dealers. China execute more but wouldnt report it. The moment Chinese police arrest a drug suspect nobody knows their whereabouts except for the individual and God.
I stayed in Beijing, China on Chinese government scholarship that comes with monthly allowance which makes survival easy for me, Beijing is more expensive been the capital. My advise is, if you dont have someone to sponsor you that will be giving you steady monthly stipends dont consider studying in China, rather use the money to seek admission in a country where you can work and study legally. If not you might end up regretting, in addition, the highest number of self sponsored Nigerian students in China are in Shenyang, but a month doesnt pass without news of a Nigerian student arrested/caught involving themselves in one vices or the other. Other hot red flag zones for Nigerians in China are Guangzhou etc but if after all that is said above, you think you can survive without steady and guaranteed source of monthly stipend from home or elsewhere. I wish you goodluck Note: I'm not discouraging people to study in China but stating the actual situations behind the glamour and glitters of beautiful city and infrastructures China has to offer. Getting a job and source of livelihood is important anywhere in the world. Thanks I will be attaching some pictures to back up my claim Bro, I need your help. Can I pm you? |

IamaNigerianGuy: What exactly should be encouraged ?
Preying on young desperately poor women ? Using human beings as incubators for babies and thereafter discarding them ? Putting women through all the risks and dangers of pregnancy without the corresponding benefits ? Being a middle man for a borderline shady practice ? This practice is exploitative and immoral. It is on par with sex change operations and organ harvesting. People have had fertility issues since the dawn of time and they did not die. The world did not come to an end.
If you cannot have a baby, adopt one. Really! What even is the difference between this practice and those women in the east used just to breed children put up for sale for God knows what? The surrogate mom can never access the child because of the signed NDA agreement. The hospital or agency do not follow up with the new parent. Not bound too. That can also be because of a ND clause in the agreement. If the new parents are not trying to pass off the child as their's, then what really is the reason for this? And if the new parents are not actually passing it off as their's, why not just adopt so that the parent can at least see the child or at least know how the child is faring, periodically? With the craziness going on in this country, i won't be shocked if some of these surrogate babies are gotten for purposes other than raising them as part of a loving family. I hope I'm wrong however. EDITSo, I read up on what surrogacy is all about. My response was based on an incomplete understanding of what it means. Of all the types of surrogacy there is, I do not subscribe to one where both the egg or sperm is not related to the intended parent or parents. Also, for this type of surrogacy and for most type really, there should be a periodic check on the surrogate baby/child. No issues with sincere people wanting offsprings this way but this is Nigeria. A semblance of regulation is desirable than zero regulation. |

I suggest you go for android phones such as infinix, techno, etc
Microsoft phones as in the Lumia types have fewer apps in their STORE which is the equivalent of android playstore or google playstore. Lol. Lumia serves me very very well. I'd a Lumia phone but it was stolen. Using a stock Android phone now but it is incomparable to my Lumia. |

God is interested in Nigeria's case I am very certain and his is causing confusion and disharmony in the tents of the wicked ones just like in the story of the tower of Babel. If there are no disputes amongst them, how will we get to know how they steal for themselves what belongs to us all.
Even if nothing by way of justice comes out of this case, the lid would have been taken off Pandora's box, and we would see the kind of worms to crawl out and get an idea how we get robbed on a daily by a selected few.
God no dey sleep.
Enjoy my siggy Very good point you made up there. There will first be exposure and then disgrace and subsequently, the conviction. |

rman: They cannot. Governance require REAL WORK! Don't get it all twisted. Governance is simple. Requires commitment and hard work but it is simple. At its simplest form, it is service and nothing more. That Nigeria is filled with visionless rulers doesn't change that fact. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Glory Dome: Dunamis 100,000 Seater Church Auditorium Gallops Towards Completion by DookShop: 11:46am On Aug 08, 2018 |
HigherEd: The $16 billion your govt(obj era) wasted in a so called bid to improve electricity alone is far more than the financial worth of many churches put together. We pay compulsory tax to our govt to improve our living standards and economy. We pay voluntary tax to church to advance the cause of christ.
Govt chops our money. Instead of us to revolt against govt we do sai baba! And love up to our oppressors. Then we turn to ask how money given to religious houses didn't tar roads, build airports lol.
Now let me do a little analogy for you once again Let us make Aregbesola the manager of Winners Chapel resources for four years and make Oyedepo the head of Osun state for the same period. After four years I'm sure winners chapel under aregbe would be broke and Osun under Oyedepo would be flourishing. As a wise man once said "you either collapse your office to your small size or you raise it your big size. Pls attack the right people and leave churches out of your nonsense." The problem of Nigeria is not the lack of money or resources but lack of leaders with vision and drive. When you see some churches do strange exploits it is not the money that brought it forth but the vision and drive for their mandate. As long as their vision and drive lives they would continue to succeed! Thank you! God bless you. |
