slimmy05: I just booked with qatar and paid via card. My flight confirmation have been sent to my email. Please, how do I select seat and how do I know which is close to the window. Kindly assist. Thanks I really do not know much about Qatar airways, but as a general practice for aviation companies, you should be able to select a seat by just logging in with your booking reference and last name. Once you are logged in, click on 'Manage my booking' or something related. From there, you should be able to select your choice seat. Goodluck. |

RexNdubest: Yeah, u 're covered by (the blood of ...) ur insurance I think it's best you do everything in Nigeria before travelling. That you were not disturbed at the POE does not mean others won't be. They are requirements for enrolment. @Slimmy05: I think you can only get the yellow fever immunization card and polio vaccine at the Port health centre of MMIA. Other immunizations can be gotten at your nearby reputable teaching or general hospitals. |

sabiguy: If that is the case, then I suggest he still isn't saying something because the transcript posted (if true) has no reason for denial. Having a mellifluous interview (not just visa's) does not necessarily guarantee a positive answer. GOD factor is there, also the state of mind of the VO and your demeanour. |

Profojah You are one of the guys I have been waiting to read their transcripts. Am sorry for the delay. But I must confess your interview went well. I will just want to ask a few questions. How much is quoted on your I-20 as required for your 1st year? Also, is your sponsor into any other business aside being a Police officer? Hope there's no huge lodgement of fund reflecting on his bank statement? |

Hello Pals. Hope everyone is doing great. Been a while I posted here. Engrossed with office works. Wishing everyone heading to the embassy soon all the best. May GOD's favour shine on you. For those that already have their Visas, I say congrats. We meet in obamaland. Lastly, for those that got denied/delayed, do not despair. Next time is yours. GOD will favour you and you will get your Visa approved. |

Thank GOD for his faithfulness and mercy I was scheduled for 6:30am, 10th November, 2014 (today) at the Consulate general office in Lagos. I arrived early enough, around 5:22am. We went through the normal security checks and were ushered in before 7 o'clock. While on queue, I met a man that's been in the US for 15 years, we got talking and I saw he's no ordinary man . We exchange cards and he gave me his US number. Please, be genial and amiable always. Don't undermine anybody you meet. >>>Fast forward>>> Me: Good morning (with a brisk but prepossessing smile) V.O: Good morning. You are going for what course? Me: I am going for a Master degree program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering V.O: Which state are you heading to? Me: New mexico state V.O: Why New Mexico state? Me: When I was applying for my Master program, I considered states that the cost of living is reasonable for me, that I can afford. The weather in the state is also good, similar to what we have here in Nigeria. So adapting will be easy for me. V.O: You have a first degree here in Nigeria? Me: Yes sir V.O: What course Me: Electrical Engineering V.O: Same as what you are going for now? Me: Yes sir V.O: When did you finish and what have you been doing since then? Me: I finished in 2010 from Univ....and immediately after my studies I went for my NYSC program where I worked as a secondary sch teacher, just before I finished service, I got employed by my current employer V.O: Where do you work Me: Told him V.O: What do you do? Me: Told him V.O: What softwares do you use? Me: Told him V.O: Do you own or rent your house? Me: I rent. But my Dad has a house in our state V.O: How much do you earn per month? Me: 228k V.O: Are you married? Me: No sir, but I have a fiancé V.O: How old are you Me: Told him V.O: How do you plan paying your fees? Me: I was awarded an International scholarship by my school worth $10,759 V.O: Who pays for the remaining? Me: I will do that sir V.O: (Looked at me like: this guy is independent mehn) Me: I have a good income, hence a good savings V.O: (Took my documents aside and gave me a white paper). Go to this address on Friday......... Me: Thanks
I stepped out with a wide grin greeting every security personnel I met on the way.
NB: No document was asked, not even my bank statement, payslips, test score sheets nor scholarship letter.
Thanks to everybody that has assisted me one way or the other since I joined this thread in 2012. Special thanks go to my good friends (more than just friends); Bigfrancis and Ashigolo. Also, God bless Imperioux, MsNas, Babsharon, Walspring, Slimmy, Fadinus (my bloodar), Zeezahbee, Yvete et al. The list is endless. GOD bless you all.

slimmy05: no it won't raise any dust. It's already stated in your I-20. The letter is not needed. Just like your admission letter is not really needed. Walspring: As long as it is stated on your I-20, no cause for alarm because the VO will only work with what was written on your I-20 and correlate it with what you say to them.. Also don't forget to print out your email conversation too because it works sometimes when VO asked to see it. All the best and meet you at the top GboyegaD: If it is noted on your I-20 then you got no issues. All you have to do when asked about sponsorship details is to start the scholarship and how you intend paying the balance. Thanks a lot. I really appreciate |

Hello house. I got a graduate scholarship that covers about 2/3 of my tuition. I will offset the rest. But, when my admission packet was sent, a scholarship letter wasn't sent with it. I mailed my school asking them about it but was told they actually don't issue such as it appears on my I-20 form already. Please, I hope this won't raise eyebrows if the VO asks for it and I start explaining. Or should I just print the mail that was sent to me notifying me of the admission and scholarship? Thanks. |

amanze15: wow, thanks to every one who did quote and made a tangible comment the gre score is low and my gpa wouldn't help either.....so please i need a cogent or rather a direct advice? undergraduate was tough I'm also an alumnus of your alma mater and I know building GPA could be a herculean task. I know that's an euphemism. Some GRE tutors have postulated that- since the exam is a standardized test, writing it any number of times using the same material and/or study techniques will do little to change your result. Hence, my own advice is; since you can't do anything to change your CGPA, do something to your GRE. There is no harm in rewriting it, that's if you would change your study materials and techniques. But you might need to mail the score recipients of the first result to apprise them of the happenings. I hope you are aiming for Fall term and not Spring. |

Good morning all, A question for all....Please, can I go to the embassy with a bank statement of about 8 months (say March to November), or is there a stern requirement of just 6 months? This is because I got a part-scholarship and would be self-sponsoring the remaining fund. But the account I want to use is not really a 'busy' one. Hence, printing for 8 months would help make the transactions on it look better and much. Please, advice accordingly. Thanks |

amanze15: unilorin geology 2.72gpa (lecturers) petroleum geology/engineering for a masters at missouri. S & T, worked as an intern @ Kogi state rural water suply and sanitation agency and i taught a second school for a year, worked on the pebble morphogenesis of the basal abeokuta group telling its transportional history I say Probitas Doctrina lockupman: Your profile would present you bare to the VO as a potential immigrant even though that is what we are all going there to do So what portends 'potential immigration' intent here? It's just a normal profile of someone with work experience. The only issue is his low GRE score which I think he should work on. Going for such a course requires better and more competitive GRE score. And maybe his low CGPA may dent his chances. Please, no harm but not all of us are potential immigrants. Thanks bro. |

femoric9: I am back with my questions again, tanx for alwys bin there for me. I actually deferred my admission from fall to dis spring semester and i am expecting my new Form I-20 and i plan to chose late november for my interview since my sch resumes Jan9. My only concern is dat i have gotten d bank statement of my broda dat i intend to use and i find out he has just #7m in it and sch fees for d 1st year is like #4.5m, pls wat other document can i add to dis to convince d VO dat he is capable of sponsoring me. Likewise, i realise dat d bank statement balance flunctuate alot, dia was eveb a time he had like just 400k, 500k, 700k and co inside it, though he started wit 5m as opening balance in march. Pls, advice me, because my only concern as always bin d statement palaver. Also, hope i can still use d statement in november since i have printed it out now already. Tanx and God bless And you addressed 7million naira as 'just'. You made it sound as a pittance. Anyway, the money is okay as long as it covers your school's financial requirement for one year. But you said your tuition is 4.5m. I want to believe you meant all the financial requirements for a year including books, feeding, room/boards, miscellaneous. The other documents you can go with to substantiate his bank statement is his affidavit of support and his tax clearance certificate. As for the roller coaster of funds reflecting in his bank statement, bother less about that. It's even good, because that denotes he's not just depositing money there. All the BEST |

azeezbaba: Alhamdulilahi robil alameen. All praises and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Let me start by thanking all the gurus in the house, Morris, Aanowai, Bigfrancis & Idawz et al. I can't thank you all enough. Visa approved today 22nd October, 2014 Time: 7.30am - Abuja - Window 9 (Although we didn't enter the embassy until some minutes to 10am because I forget my bank statement) My transcript is as follows:
VO: Good morning (with a lovely smile) Me & Wife: Good morning (My 15 months old son too struggled to say something)
VO: Pass me your documents Me: I did (she started typing and she continued typing for like 2 mins)
VO: Where is your school? Me: North Carolina
VO: Why did you choose the school? Me: Of all the schools I visited when I was on holiday in the US, North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University has the best infrastructure and research facilities and the only one that offers my 1st choice concentration which is Cyber Security.
VO: Who is your sponsor? Me: Myself
VO: Can I see your statement? Me: I handed out my statements of account
VO: She looked at the statement carefully, flipping the pages and looking at the transaction history (she did this for like 2 mins)
VO: (She asked my wife to do fingerprint and I followed)
VO: Your visa has been approved (She said so many other things after that, like when we can enter the US, the documents to present at the port of entry but I wasn't listening because I was already overjoyed)
I pray for those going for their visa interviews to meet God's favour. I am really overjoyed now
She didn't ask for GRE, IELTS/TOEFL, Transcript or any other document for that matter apart from my bank statement. It's not by might but by prayer. Congrats Mr Azeez. I also tap into that grace. I don't want a long chat before my approval |
