Thousands of illegal immigrants could be granted an amnesty to stay in the UK to clear a massive backlog of cases, MPs fear. The number of outstanding immigration and asylum cases rose by 25,000 in three months and is "spiralling out of control". The Border Agency (UKBA) caseload is now equivalent to the population of Iceland, said Keith Vaz, chairman of the Commons Home Affairs Committee. More than 300,000 cases needed to be dealt with at the end of June, up 9% over the previous three months, a committee report indicated. The Border Agency had 302,064 cases to investigate, trace or conclude by the end of June - more than 25,000 compared with the end of March, figures showed. Most of the increase came from a rise of more than 24,000 missing migrants denied permission to stay in the UK but whose whereabouts are unknown. The outstanding cases also included 95,000 in the so-called controlled archives. Immigration minister Mark Harper agrees the report 'raises concerns' These are effectively the backlog of immigration and asylum cases, which the UKBA has pledged to close by the end of the year. But to do this it will have to assess all these cases in three months when only 29,000 were removed from the archive in a year, the report said. "We are concerned that the closure of the controlled archives may result in a significant number of people being granted effective amnesty in the United Kingdom, irrespective of the merits of their case," the MPs said. While many of the people in the backlog of cases will have already left the country, "we are not convinced that the agency's limited checking regime will have picked up all of the applicants who remain in the country", the MPs went on. "For this reason we are concerned that the final checks made on these cases should be thorough and that they should not be rushed to meet an artificial deadline." The report also questioned the consequences for both the individual and the taxpayer if applicants whose cases are closed are then found in the UK. Mr Vaz added: "There are now about the same number of cases awaiting resolution by UKBA as there are people living in Iceland. The backlog is spiralling out of control." Immigration Minister Mark Harper said: "This report raises some legitimate concerns but we are taking robust action and it is working." http://news.sky.com/story/1009094/immigration-cases-spiral-out-of-control |

It takes the Grace of God, not base on how old your country is. Nothing really to be done than to continue praying for Nigeria. |

While you may be condemning the laws of your country, have a look at some of the most weird, craziest and wackiest laws that lawmakers around the world seem to have made when not in their senses. 1. Chewing gums are banned in Singapore in order to maintain cleanliness in the country. 2. It’s illegal to feed pigeons in open in Venice. 3. The conservative land of Dubai doesn’t allow 2 people of the opposite sex to share a hotel room unless they are married or closely related. 4. Stiletto heels apparently cause more damage to the ground they are walked on, than the wearer’s legs, and hence Greece has banned its women from strutting about in them on it’s monumental national heritage sites. 5. You would have to shell out a fine lest you are caught carrying ice cream cones in your pocket in Kentucky. We wonder whether it’s as bad to carry full ice creams in the pocket! 6. You will get away with smoking a drug like cannabis in Holland, but if you smoke tobacco, you would be termed as a law breaker. 7. A pregnant woman in UK has the privilege of urinating anywhere she pleases, even in a policeman’s helmet. 8. The higher or lower your earning income is in Finland, accordingly you will be charged for breaking traffic laws. 9. You dare not forget your wife’s birthday while in Samoa, for you would be a criminal if you do so. Maybe the memory of men there is the sharpest in the world! 10. Dirty cars invite a fine in Moscow. Keep you car clean dear Russians! 11. If you are the sort who feels hungry a lot, and loves fast food, UAE isn’t the place for you during the month of Ramadan as people cannot have anything in public before sundown. 12. As hilarious as it may seem, one cannot afford to die in the House of Parliament in London. It’s a crime. 13. You would be disrespecting the king and government of Thailand, and hence be branded as a criminal if you are ever found stepping on the country’s currency. 14. Small girls of Indiana, beware. You cannot dress up Ken in his toy doll girlfriend, Barbie’s clothes, for that’s a crime. 15. Pigs cannot be raised in Israel unless and until they are required for medical research. |

I made N120,000 from Nigeria-Burkina Faso match – Viewing centre operator Nigerian television stations are not airing the ongoing African Nations Cup due to a stalemate between the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria and the rights owners of the event. In this piece, Udeme Ekwere counts the gains and losses resulting from this impasse Mr. Linus Eze operates a television viewing centre in Ikeja, Lagos where people gather to watch matches in European leagues. Eze makes about N10,000 anytime people gather to watch a European league match. It can rise to as much as N30,000 when it is a UEFA Champions League match. But the crisis over the airing of the ongoing 29th edition of the African Cup of Nations in South Africa has brought some good fortune his way. He told our correspondent on Wednesday that Monday’s group match between Nigeria and Burkina Faso swelled his purse, as he made over N120,000 from the large crowd that converged on his viewing centre. He said, “Our market is the European Champions League and other various local leagues in Europe, especially the English Premier League and the Spanish La Liga. The money we are making in the ongoing Nations Cup is coming in as a big bonus we did not expect at all. “ It is very fantastic. Because the games are two daily and people are interested because of Team Nigeria, we charge N100 per head. “I have a big place that can take over 100 people but now I have had to rent a canopy to create room for about 40 people outside. I still try to control the situation to maintain order. Don Jazzy And T.O.C. Below is a letter that T.O.C. Wrote, describing his encounter with the Don First of all; Introduction, na me be TOC. am an upcoming singer student in Bells University lol. When I left my house for EME album launch party at club deuces couple of months back, I didn’t know I was going to meet my break through. We spoke for a bit and he asked me to give him a call so we can continue our discussion some other time. His private number was like a huge asset for me, I crammed it immediately and saved it on my two phones. I kept on calling and sending text messages, so sad no one was picking, no text was replied either. At a stage I lost all hope and continued my Under G striving. One blessed day I was about to doze off when my phone started vibrating. I almost ignored the call to get back to whoever when I wake up, looking on my phone screen I saw “don jazzy” you needed to have seen how I sat up at once, the sleep flew away like a bird that escaped from her cage. I booked an appointment and came over to his house. What a wonderful mansion? I said as I stepped into his compound. He asked me to play my works, afterwards he complained I sound like Wizkid and Dammykrane which isn’t far from what D prince, Dr. Sid and Wande are doing. I pleaded to him to give me just 30 seconds to freestyle there and then in his studio, I guess he saw the zeal and desperateness in me “T.O.C am going to give you an amount of money to work with big producers in the industry” like sarz, samklef and j-sleek, he said, for the past 5 years I haven’t been that happy. I didn’t know how exactly to start expressing my feelings, should I kneel down? or lie down?. The joy was just too overwhelming I kept on saying thank you sir! I quickly dropped my account number for him. The next morning. I received an alert from Mavin Records! (don’t worry about the amount What more can I say? Don jazzy is a blessing man am forever grateful boss! Now I have songs produced by Sarz, Samklef, and some other bad ass producers, one of them is due to drop tomorrow produced by samklef. twitter @toc_mdmmg http://www.talkofnaija.com/index.php/news/noticeboard/see-how-don-jazzy-changed-this-young-boys-life/80728

Dear very loving male folks, We the female folks wish to bring to your notice that in less than 3weeks, there shall be the celebration of love (feb.14).. We'd appreciate it if alongside that box of chocolate is a box of ring- be it diamond, gold, silver or bronze! We know how much you want us to take a trip to bahamas, sun-city, miami and paris and we appreciate the kind gesture. BUT instead of the holiday trip, we would appreciate it if you took a trip to our family house instead! We've given you enough hints such as invitation to weddings, church vigils, child dedication and all sorts. Unfortunately, you are all dumb to realize that- of course we understand that some of you broke up with us during d xmas period but apologies will only be accepted in the form of a marriage proposal with it's consummation in no distant time! Valentine's day is just 3wks away so you have enough time to call your friends for a drink and tell your fathers, mothers and siblings about us. Thank you for your kind cooperation. Signed: President, Single Ladies Association. http://talkofnaija.com/index.php/news/noticeboard/letter-to-single-men-from-single-ladies/78236 |

This baby is surely going to be great, watch out, he's really the unkillable. Some members of a community in Lagos found a baby who was buried alive yesterday. Surprisingly the baby survived If you truly believe in the existance of God almighty Hit Like
