Or replace with a used one.


Cost of proper rebuild plus labour will cost more than 2wice the amount of a used gearbox.

Used gear is about 45-50k.

Decision is yours.

Hope the day going well

Now about my 2001 Honda accord, had my car scanned. First had the codes cleared, after driving for a day, had it scanned again. Two codes came out: P0141 - oxygen sensor 2 and P1738.

Already googled both. First is the oxygen sensor attached to the catalyst. The second is the "2nd Clutch pressure switch" which I believe is attached to the gear.

Please, have u changed the "2nd Clutch pressure switch" before. Have an idea of the cost. Could this be the thing affecting my gear and causing high fuel consumption.

I read that bad oxygen sensor can also cause very high fuel consumption.

But the gear is still as sharp as hell, aside from delay between gear 1 and 2, no problem. I wouldn't even have been bothered if not for higher than usual fuel consumption. The delay is just about 2 seconds most times and the jerk is very slight

Okay, went online. Friction plates are inside the gear, and when worn out, causes what's know as transmission slipping.

So what's the a solution sir?

I use a 2002 Honda Baby boy. For a while now, over a year, the gear take some time to change, I believe it's between 1 & 2. For like 2 or 3 seconds, the rpm goes higher than its needed, you feel the car's speed not going higher, then there is a very slight jerk as the gear moves to 2. This happens every time the car drops speed below gear 2 and has to pick up speed again.

I've changed gear oil twice in the last one year.

What do you think is the problem and solution?

Also, the car fuel consumption seems to be higher than it should be. Could this be the cause?

A mechanic said there is dirt inside the geat box, that it has to be opened and flushed out.
