Dear aggrieved OP i apologise. Not for the Doctor but for the system. We have all been screwed by the system at one point or the other. The doctor had his fault his patient communication skill left much to be desired. The part where you were worried about cost it is not totally his fault. Health care is expensive. You think it's cheaper in govt hospitals? No its not it's just that govt has subsidised it so that a CT Scan that should cost you around 150000- 200k now cost u around 70-100k. Don't let house MD and Greys anatomy series fool ya reality is very different. That being said for fees received services must be rendered i.e the doc collected money to treat he must treat (I'm saying all this from a one sided story - yours). BTW why do people think doctors' consultations should be free? Lawyers' aren't LoL. |

CircleOfWilis: ur ignorance has no cure bro.. u don't know what ulcer (peptic) is i don't like when people say stuff like this ignorance has cure it's education. People should seek education on all issues of their interest. the education doesn't have to be formal. This kinda ignorance is seen in all aspect of our Nigerian lives; politics, sports, finance and economics, health, even education. The list is endless. The cure is out there people just aren't looking for it. |

eyinjuege: People with ulcer, gastritis, present with epigastric pain and oftentimes due to it's proximity to the chest call it chest pain. You as a doctor now have to find out from them the exact point of the pain. But usually, they tell you they have chest pains, and not stomach pains. see you mess up abeg. And you answered him. I saw that he said he is a 'scholar'. These are the set of people to fear the most they do not know something or they know the wrong thing and won't mind raming it down other peoples. Smh |

the likes of Bob Bradley, Patrick Kluivert, Niko Kovac, Herve Renard, etc are within that same salary scale offered this dude
NFF is a joke Actually I don't think you are right. his salary here is would be higher than the would- be actual salary. He is the only one who agreed to grease their palms. the Glen Hoddle saga should come to mind now. |

spanishkid: What sort of rubbish is this? Why is NFF this useless? If you want to eat a frog eat the one that has eggs. The fact we need a foreign coach doesn't mean we should go and hire any Tom, Dick and Harry. What happened to the likes of Jose Mourinho, Brendan Rodgers, Luciano Spalleti, Louis Van Gaal, Andre Villas Boas, Simon Karanka, Unai Emery etc? Does Le Guen even understand English properly? those ones can't come to Nigeria. they know their onions and they have built enough reputation for picnic (not my mistake) and his minions to come mess it up. BTW their wage is just far too high mehn mou that has an annual contract of say 10mil pounds per year will come here? how much can we give him? max 2.5 mil per annum. |

If NFF thought Oliseh was hot headed, wait till they get on the bad side of Le Guen. He'll leave as soon as NFF don't pay a month of his salary on time. Oyinbo no get time for rubbish. it's over here that we mess clearly logical issues with sad unfair emotions. |

whether le Guen or Arsene wenger or Jose Mounrinho they will all ultimately fail and leave in a dirty manner. I Love my country but I honestly don't give two flying Fs what happens to Nigerian football anymore. A saying goes thus " doing same thing over and expecting a different result is insanity " here is why I made the above conclusion Amodu, Onigbinde, Berti Vogt, Lars Lagerbaek, Eguavon, Siasia, Keshi, Oliseh all have coached us between 2002 and now. Not all of them are sterling perfect agreed! but I want us to X-ray it from Siasia to Oliseh. All were owed salaries, all of them claimed interference with their work and team selection, upon termination of contract they all threatened legal actions. A good case study will be Keshi. he won the AFCON so what's the excuse to fire him? he was playing good football, he was owed fees of between 6-10 months ( if I can approximate correctly) and them come to look at the show of shame in the manner he was let go, at a point he wasn't even sure if he was coach or not NFF said his contract won't be renewed but he should continue as coach( who does that?) then he was finally "sacked" because he was said to have applied for a job vacancy advert placed by the Ivorian FA. My point is coaching, players aren't our problem the bane of our problem now is the NFF. the administration is bad and clueless and we have just started the downward slide( I pray i'm wrong, I wish I will be disappointed) . The NFF is the constant figure in all this mess. coaches have been changed, ministers have been replaced, places have been called and dropped still we are in a situation where we will not be going for AFCON. who ever comes will meet This NFF at home and they will still continue to mess things up. |

TheGoodJoe: Red flags from Paul Le Guen's Wikipedia page.
Rennes He resigned from Rennes in 2001 after a fall-out with the club's board. This led to him taking a year off from football.
Rangers However, Le Guen made a poor start to his Ibrox career. His record across his first ten league games was the worst start to a season by an Old Firm debutant since John Greig's team won only two, drew six and lost two of their opening ten games in 1978–79.
On 8 November, Rangers were knocked out of the Scottish League Cup at the quarter-final stage by First Division side St Johnstone. The result, the first time Rangers had been knocked out of a cup tournament by a lower league side at home, prompted protests outside Ibrox and demands for the situation to improve.
On 1 January 2007, Rangers announced that Le Guen had stripped Barry Ferguson of his captaincy of the club and dropped him from the squad for a match the following day. BBC Sport reported that Ferguson would not play for Rangers again under Le Guen.
Murray announced on 4 January 2007 that Paul Le Guen had left Rangers by mutual consent. This made him the club's shortest-serving manager, and the only one to leave the club without completing a full season in charge.
Cameroon National Football Team Cameroon were the first team officially knocked out of the 2010 World Cup. He announced his resignation on 24 June 2010.
Oman National Football Team Oman were eliminated in the group stage of the tournament with one win and two losses. He was sacked on 19 November 2015 after a poor start of 2018 FIFA World Cup qualification campaign. Eh na midnight market be this o. chai Nigeria Nigeria Nigeria. when shall we face the truth? |

Nonybb: Hmm Lekwa Le Guen, small time now you will be booed out like vogt. By mere looking at this man and his resume you will find out that this man is seriously looking for a job anyhow. "Accepted" to coach Eagles as if all other coaches had been abandoning the National Team. He wasn't even hired by a better country and they even fired him just this November. How is he even better than the Siasia if not that he was chosen because he has a white skin I tire o. Na Oman fire am fa. So an NFF That owed Siasia, Oliseh, Keshi (all indigenous coaches) want to pay that guy that amount as monthly salary? well well we have not yet heard the end of it. Part two is coming. |

ozodigboo: Who's this clown ? i knew one re.tard will come to quote me. In europe and America, they can treat anyhow before u pay because EVERYONE HAS A SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER....u can't run....you will be traced. Here, after treatment, the person runs....no trace....if everyone starts running, how will the hospital run itself ? Read the post of ROTADECO27 at 5.59pm on this thread... Being educated also implies not commenting on something you know next to nothing about. Don't quote me again. I was going to reply him then I thought why bother he is far behind. Your response is spot on. People need to seek knowledge in this country know how things work and not just attack issues with sheer sentiments that are wrong to start with. Don't join issues with him if he is not up to speed on the issues what do you stand to gain? |
Health › Re: Save Lives First In Emergency - Adewole, Health Minister To Hospitals by Doubleagent008(m): 7:55pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
ifyalways: I doubt it will be implemented for obvious reasons : the masses would mis-use it aka refuse to pay after treatment. Enforcing health insurance for all is a better option, imo Yes. I support you health care system should have a self financing system that is self sufficient it's from there that you can start funding "good deeds" have you seen the percentage voted to health sector? and oga Minister is here saying treat Emergency without asking for money first. How are we going to keep the money in the system to at least run itself? |
Health › Re: Save Lives First In Emergency - Adewole, Health Minister To Hospitals by Doubleagent008(m): 7:50pm On Apr 01, 2016 |
hemartins: Really? Would that be implemented in Nigeria?
Most accident victims are left unattended to in general hospitals until there is a claim on them.
If you don't have money to buy blood, you won't be given blood and you would probably die of shortage of blood.
You need an emergency operation but no money to pay at least half of the bill, OYO is your case.
Nigerians are funny too. After treatment, they would sneak out of the health facility.
This would be a good improvement on the health sector if life is considered before wealth.
Note. That mtn guy above is a Scam. This is April, don't be a fool. Happy New Month NL chief I salute you. it's more than one Minister saying all tertiary institutions should start treating Emergency cases without asking for money. so the money for the treatment where will it come from? Nigerians are interesting people sure not all will have the money but those who have would refuse to pay claiming they don't have. I have seen funny instances and heard stories sir. You would be sad, cry and laugh if you listen to some of these stories. |

dominique: Let's hope the hospitals implement this You see, it's more complicated than this. the Minister has been infected by the "politician bug". the hospitals are government owned hospitals so the money they request for go into the account of the hospital (government as it may apply). he has said the hospitals should start treating emergency cases without prior request for fund but they government wouldn't send fund to the hospital to run these services. So imagine a patient after treatment says he is poor and can't pay what will the hospital do? virtually nothing. now that that there is social media one online human right activist will start #freethepoorsickman trend and everyone will jump on the bandwagon thinking they are fighting for a poor man. what the Minister has just done is to play the media a common political tactic. He has now said they should be treating these cases, has he said the government has put measures in place to allow this program to take place. you know like every office( job) there are hierarchy So the big man at the top of the ladder says do this and he turns around not minding how the job gets done not providing the means So tell me do you think such job will get done or get done well? Politicians have been playing Nigerians from time past we as a people need to stop jumping at their good gestures and ask "HOW " questions. I hope this just makes you believe there is more to it than 'Doctors are the ones refusing poor man treatment ' the money doesn't go to the Doctors' pocket. |
