Gpee(Jp):
Should you despair over a relationship gone bad; Think of the person who has never known what it's like to love and be loved in return

Should you grieve the passing of another weekend; Think of the woman in dire straits, working twelve hours a day, seven days a week to feed her children

Should your car break down, leaving you miles away from assistance; Think of the paraplegic who would love the opportunity to take that waIN

@Jisola, why dem no go push this thread to page 2? we're even lucky its still appearing at all. no one posts now. the less posts, the further away!

anyways,as per preparation, what's there to prepare? saw someone's post about reading b4 edjeba starts. I really cant imagine doing that sha. How much can i read? the whole year's worth? all I'm thinking of now is how many people'll have to do away with their suits and all such coporate wears. shell staff no de do all dat one na. dont even knw if the gals wear heels.well,we'll know soon enough.

and I just realised that this thread is only on page 60 (and it took 2 batches to get here) while the one for LNG is on page 147 and that was ages ago! how come?dem plenty pass us dat time?

@Poster, Its your word against his. only you know if it'll be easy to convince your bobo. there's no way the cuz can use it against you in d future. except of course, you gel for him. decide if its worth the trouble. I dnt think it is worth it especially if they are soooo close. but if d cuz sends u a text or a msg, abeg, keep am. shall be used as evidence if he starts to do anyhow and claim rubbish later.

this is crazy. unless she is misbehaving there is no reason to check. if she feels comfortable talking about past relationships she sould do so but if not comfortable for whatever reason and the relationships are over then there is no reason to bring tham up. the only part of her past she must tell is if she ever had an std even if it is cured. this also goes vice-versa
Jor, i agree. only bring up the past if it has any bearing on ur present r/ship. . . . e.g, it would be nice if you told me u were almost or even married b4, had a child, std, had a babe who used to beat u.
However, checking up on her mail and stuff just makes u feel like u're doing something. If she was really serious, she'd open a new e-mail account. but of course, please if u feel he/she is keepin unnecessarily late nights, whispering when talking on the phone, mistakenly keeps blurting out some random guys name. . . .
RomanceRe: Is It Wacko Or Jealous Tendencies?- by douecho: 3:03pm On Jul 16, 2009
it doesnt necessarily mean that the r/ship wont last. I know pple who've been checking each other's mail and keeping tabs on eachother and are still together (even eventually married).
I just feel it gives unnecessary headache.
RomanceRe: Is It Wacko Or Jealous Tendencies?- by douecho: 2:34pm On Jul 16, 2009
lol! Well, I feel that constantly checking the other person's mail doesnt mean you're on top of things. If person wan cheat, the person go cheat. checking mail, text, snooping on phone calls doesnt stop anyone. You just de give urself headache!
but sometimes, it just makes you feel that you are at least doing something, futile though it may be

Cant really say how long it takes after doing medicals though. i hope i'm right in saying a month wouldn't be too long! and as for not eventually getting an offer, I think its really rare. personally don't know of any.

agathamari:
sagging started in the western world?? do you even have any cluehuh it was a prison fashion originaly.  the "bitch" wore it so his "hubby" had an easy quickie.  these wanna be thugs get used to it and get out of jail and thier gangbanger wanna be thugs think its cool and continue.   there are towns in teh US and canada who have passed laws agaist this fashion statement (no more then 1 inch of your boxers can be showing outside your pants otherwise you face a $100-300 fine) this hasnt been cool for guys to wear since like 1997 and it has never been acceptable for women to wear unless they are hookers.  find out about things before you go running your mouth
ehm, i dnt think u're entirely correct. any self respecting documentary will tell you that sagging began in prisons but it was because the prisoners were not allowed to wear belts. the belts could become weapons themselves.

@Poster, dnt knw of any gals who sag. its prob more out of a lack of sumfin that the clothes sag, gerrit?

Here's are some excuses
1. All the while honey, I thot it was you
2. I fell on top of her/him
3. I was forced to do it for your safety
4. That's the only way I could keep my job

and here's my all time favourite:
IT JUST HAPPENED!

i mean, what d'u mean it just happened?snapped ur fingers and it just happened?I'll only believe such if it just happened in the middle of the road. not in his/her house.meaning you first came out of the car, walked to the door, opened the door, walked into the room and it just happened? shocked shior!

CareerRe: Welcome To My Office by douecho: 8:27pm On Jul 12, 2009
Absolutely not a waste. You don't have to be a project manager instantly simply because you have a degree in project management. You could start off as a graduate engineer, do some project engineering roles and gradually build up the full set of competencies required to be a true project manager. Most people who lead projects do not do a qualification and simply step into the role - their credibility as project managers emanates from having done a variety of roles themselves before getting into the project leading role.

That said, it all depends on the type of project management you want to engage in. If you're interested in non-engineering projects then maybe you can seek a role in management consultancy, but I still feel that a grad engineer role will give you lots of opportunities to practice project management.

You can buzz me on IM (name is in my profile) so we can talk further

Should this be an issue?. undecided
When you listen to someone with a thick accent struggling to spree for long enough, you'll know its an issue. smiley
FamilyWhy Do Many Nigerians Develop Accents Few Months After Leaving Nigeria? by douecho(op): 2:05pm On Jul 11, 2009
I'm sure I'm not the only one who has noticed that many Nigerians suddenly cant remember how to speak like Nigerians even if they only spent 2days abroad. Even if the accent they put on is heavily laced with their native accent, they still talk as if they were never in Nigeria?

My own is, If you must spree, make it convincing enough, don't now mix thick yoruba, Igbo or bini accent with American, scottish or English! There's absolutely no way you can tell me that an accent that took you about 20years of your life to develop can suddenly disappear within a few weeks (or even a year) abroad.

You don see any American wey de talk like Nigerian after 3 years in Nigeria? Or Ghanian wey de spree after 3 years in london (or even Nigeria)?

e-Shegz:
Wao, this is thrilling,

Left my office in Ikeja, Lagos by 11 pm to see her in Ibadan cause i was not able to catch up with her at the airport during the yuletide and i can' wait to see her the next day. Went with one of my friends cause i was scared but the "pull" was just too much. Got to her house so late, the elder brother did not even allow us take the drink and food she offered us! He told us it's already late, we should take our leave now! We were practically "bounced' out of the house around 12 midnight inspite of her pleading. Got to the park with my friend and while waiting for any means of transportation, got chased and robbed by some unruly characters like that.
And today the lovely lady is married, to another man!, Just imagine if i was killed that night. It was Dangerous, it was fun!
Absolutely lovely story! now, that's a crazy story!

tpia.:
This is the danger of marrying someone for physical looks alone.
Ehm,,,I dont agree. Its not only marrying for physical looks that brings this kinda thing. Like they say, guys are generally wired to be moved by what they see. This has nothing to do with how she is as a person , but that's how most guys are. At least he loves her personality well enough to care about how she looks. The physical has quite a bit to do with things sha. In my opinion.
