samsard: The idea that SARS were actually fighting internet crime is a fallacy. We had a bunch of poorly trained policemen who were constantly extorting young men instead of doing their job of curtailing violent crimes like robbery and kidnapping. And even if they did fight cybercrime sef, their methods were crude and they left a trail of human rights abuses in their paths. Maybe until you become a victim of police extortion for something you're not guilty of because you own a laptop or smart gadgets their six months salary can't afford, maybe then you'll reason more rationally. False equivalence. As a non police official, we see the new Nigerian's. Evil, sex obsessed, greedy, lazy , druggies, cultist, scamming, always complaining homosexual bastard's. Yep that's what they are. We see them. |

Jannesjambres99: We should stop to blame president Buhari for every evil done in Nigeria, Buhari is never Nigeria problem, Nigeria problem is Nigerians,
Northerners are the problem of North,
Igbos are the problem of Igbo
Yorubas are the problem of yoruba,
South South are also problem of South South,
Why blaming Buhari for everything? That's unfair
Nigeria corruption was at highest level before Buhari came to power,
What do you expect from him? To transform Nigeria to paradise over night? He is doing that no doubt, But he need our support,
Nigerians always in a hurry, we need to take things easy, Instead of accusing Buhari, use that energy to pray for him,
I want to ask you?
Have you ever ask God in your prayers to give Buhari all that it takes to put Nigeria in order?
Buhari is not a wicked man as people think,
My message is clear,
Nigerians please stop saying evil about Buhari, stop wishing him dead, because he is not your problem.
Thank you all,

And Nigeria has failed to realize money is not her problem, but lack of idea. It seems most of our Leaders are creative only when it comes to looting than Human capital development. Which is the number was Demon we are fighting with after lack of will Genius! |

Farki: Crypto has been around for the last 10 years and has only appreciated in value, I'm sure you don't even know what a ponzi scheme means.
So you will be very fine with the government making castration at random a law? It is clear that I am dealing with someone who has no idea what they are talking about or is a paid government miscreant. You don't get it, bitcoin will never replace fiat, maybe another digital currency will. As it is, just merely a tool for transferring wealth from late adopters to earlier one's. A speculative instrument like this isn't going to achieve much for a country, that said it's great for individuals. |

Farki: If the law says the government can cut the prick of any man at random will you be a "law abiding citizen"?
This is something we could use to kick-start the flaccid and wasting economy and the government just banned it because
5 years down the line when it takes off people here will be asking why we didn't invest in it sooner. The same people who banned this can't deal with the bigger things like inflation, electricity, security and embezzlement.
One thing I've noticed is that law makers and criminals think in very similar ways, but one finds a way to get government support for their criminality. Bitcoin will never be the standard, as it is merely a ponzi scheme. Before you call me a crypto illiterate be mindful that i know a lot about it. There's nothing backwards about banning it. I think they would fair better regulating it though. Yep law is life, once we understand that Nigeria will get better. |

bepositive11: Do some research into dark web. Learn more about it. Find out the type of things they do there. You won't believe your eyes. Bitcoin is heavily used by those criminals. For example, anyone can pay a hitman to kill you in bitcoin without a trace.
The main problem with bitcoin is it's untraceable. Users are anonymous. Anyone can transfer bitcoin without a trace. This story on this thread. Knowing the kind of things that happen in the dark web, it's very possible to be true.
The currency we use is traceable. Exchanging cash leaves a trail, unlike bitcoin.
Don't waste your time feeling sorry for me. Instead, feel sorry for yourself. You are very uneducated. Now, tell me, why do you want to be using bitcoin? Criminals have the biggest advantage with cryptocurrency. If they keep getting a way so easily, can you imagine what will happen? Crimes like those on the dark web will keep growing. Is that the world you want?
Cryptocurrencies are ok only if there's transparency. Some countries are already developing cryptocurrencies that are regulated. I support that because criminals will not be left to freely do whatever they want. Nigerians have one directional thinking. All that matters is crypto is banned so let's cry continuously like infants. There can be multiple truth's. The most important part of your comment which they'll also miss, countries have started developing their own digital currencies that can be regulated. To all you cry babies, as a crypto trader myself, we all know bitcoin is a gigantic Ponzi scheme |

This should be in the news if true.
I won't put anything past the dark web though, knowing some people will go to any extent for money, discarding this as fake news isn't prudent until proven otherwise.

Nigeria is a sovereign country, if they've decided to ban it, so be it.

It's pretty pointless crying all over the internet about the crypto ban, we have bigger issues as Nigerians. |

RisenPhoenix1: There were questionable transactions long before cryptocurrency, and there will still be questionable transactions if they ban it. The issue is not about fraud or questionable transactions, it's about the fear that fiat currency with zero intrinsic value (like the US dollar) will lose its market value as well and bring the global economy crashing down like the baseless pack of cards that it is. The only thing keeping those currencies propped up, is the demand that people have for them; now even businesses are going crypto and alarm bells are ringing in the minds of Central Banks everywhere. What will the World Bank and IMF do when the dollar denominated debts that countries owe them become completely valueless?
Meanwhile, I think it's high time that the Nigerian youth who are tech savvy consider setting up one or more organisations like Anonymous to fight cyber fraud and other forms of cybercrime emanating from Nigeria. It is causing a lot of damage to our collective reputation, foreign opportunities and now, E-Trade. Exactly, it's more about blocking the transfer of wealth built on the fraudulent global economy, the issue of fraud is just a cook up. Meanwhile, I'm not sure if you've heard Brussels are considering a digital currency for Europe, yeah do as I say not do as i do In the end , what matters is protecting your self interest as a country, not just taking instructions like some empty brained amoeba . If the Nigerian government deems it a threat and goes ahead with the ban/restrictions, i won't call them backwards, i can only hope they've thought it through properly . |
