tkb417:WORD!!!!! @Debosky If this is a true reflection of the accounts at Arsenal, where did all that talk about 80million pounds to spend and Wenger's alleged reticence to use it emanate |
Cesc04:My Good God. . . , You have been watching IGODO MEGODO |
His catastrophic efforts in Iraq aside, I think he should get a lot of credit for all the work on AIDS, as well as the increase in aid given to the continent. Foreign policy is multi-faceted and his Iraq policy should not colour his other efforts especially where it concerns us Africans. Besides, he did a lot more than Clinton, and the latter always features as every black man's favourite white man. |
LadyT:You come this thread, hear say my primary customers dey off the market, yet you still dey ask questions. Shior |
First lady ko, First lady ni. A womans place is in the kitchen jo. ![]() |
Of course they will be a detrimental effect at least in the short term. You just do not replace 42 goals in a jiffy and besides the goals, the threat he poses means teams have to pay attention to him, which opens space for other players in the team. |
Is it any surprise that Black people offer the greatest impediment to Obama's chances |
JeSoul:that is what you call covering all bases. ![]() NO still have the same problem even with James Posey. Posey is a good defensive player, but this team was already good defensively. The problem they had against the Spurs was getting a third scoring option after Bowen locked down (wetin be that Balkan guy name again sef.) They need more offence I reckon, although Posey does augment what is one of the thinnest benches in the league Come sef. . . , You think the Sox will trade Manny? If they do, mehn, odikwa risky oo They should just chill and wait for a berra time to get good value for him I think. If they can withstand his bullshit for this long, waiting a bit longer would not hurt abi? |
So you chappies are just hearing of Igodo Megodo. . . . You are late. . . . . Should have noticed him when he was part of the Power Probe. |
Debosky. Walahi, you are like Yaradua. The faithful are starving and you are trying to institute rule of rationality. Very soon, you will start promising that Arsenal will join the top 10 football clubs in the world by 2020 |
Jesoul, i am quite surprised you are in support of the Death Penalty. Makes up for the deficiencies in your basketball knowledge ![]() My own viewpoint on the death penalty is nuanced. I do not believe it should be statutorily permanent. But where a nation starts to feel insecure with high incidents of homicidal crime, its introduction surely serves as a useful deterrent, not minding what these statisticians come up with. For example, the Uk needs the death penalty like no tomorrow. Little rascals roam about with no value placed on life at all, and with brevity knowing they can get away with their heinous crimes. |
JeSoul:They become a better defensive and offensive team, and it is scoring points that has been their sore point. Artest's good defence often deflects from his very polished offensive skills. If Yao should go down again, Artest can provide good post offense, and good perimeter production when the team is complete. Dumars is hit and miss, though its been mostly hit so far. I bet this one will be a hit-miss ![]() |
Wahlberg was good. . . .but I have seen him do better, notably in Boogie Nights. think his role did not lend itself to subtlety and overacted in bits. DiCaprio's role was always going to garner all the attention cause of the role he played. I just could not forget this was still the pretty boy of Titanic. Some of his violent scenes were less than convincing. Damon was just class. I still can't get over the performance. It was so even keeled, so natural. He seemed in character in all his scenes. . . . . But I will tell you who prolly outdid both of them. . . .The lady. She was fabulous as well. Public Service Shrink. Magical. The film was fantastic I |
I dey proud of the guy oo. But I still feel they shortchanged him. The Bulls are offering Deng 80 mil for the same term. |
@SMC Even some of the judges past agree with me: The 2002 judges announced their shortlist of six books with a barbed attack on publishers for submitting "pretentious, portentous and pompous" novels. The chairwoman, Lisa Jardine, lamented the absence of Irvine Welsh's Indecency, and fellow judge David Baddiel said many entries "had a vulgar and obvious seriousness". The author Alain de Botton said the panel was "a little attention-seeking" to complain about the heavy tone of the books, quipping that the Booker was "not the WH Smith thumping-good-read award". Baddiel wrote a furious response on the letters page of The Times. "Can this possibly be the same man I sat next to on The People's Booker show on BBC2 last year," he demanded, "who supported Atonement [by Ian McEwan] because it was such a good read, and claimed that the eventual winner, Peter Carey's True History of the Kelly Gang, was far too heavy going, not a book he would ever give to a friend, and in fact the worst thing he could say about it was that it was exactly the sort of book that wins the Booker Prize?" |
After reading some of the past winners of the Booker prize, I have to say I find the selectors quite self indulgent in their choices. They have been a few good ones, but many of them are BORING. Life of Pi was a drag as was 'The God of Small things' Even the much acclaimed 'Vernon God Little' was on reflection not the most entertaining book. The selectors of the Orange Prize give more 'rounded' selections. |
Seun:The only non arbitrary numbers are 0 or 100. Since zero is tantamount to a suicidal conflagration, I think it only makes sense to give 100 %. |
Has anyone seen the original Hong Kong production.? |
I won't say too much. . .After the match at Wembley, we go see who get mouth. ![]() |
Ibime:It was actually the Welsh band, Manic Street Preachers. ![]() |
Cristalz: ![]() Don't make me give you the traditional London riposte to disrespect ![]() |
I know I am two years late, but I finally saw the Departed. And yes, it was every bit as good as people said it was, if not better. The performances were stunning, Wahlberg deserved his Oscar, and he has impressed me for for a long time. Nicholson showed why he is one of the greatest ever. Even DiCaprio managed to impress me, for only the first time , and he got lots of nominations for more than his pretty face. But none of them impressed me as much as Damon. His is one of the most impressive performances I have seen in ages. Almost flawless, natural. . . . , . . .Which is why I am surprised he was almost invisible on the awards slate. So what's your takewho was better? |
Rubbish, . . . .A woman's place is in the kitchen A man has no bizness in the Kitchen. |
hehehehe. , . . . this one has been brewing for weeks. , . . matters have come to a head. Hopefully you guys will let it all out today and shake hands at the end of the day. |
I still think he needs to bulk up a bit more. He improved a bit at the tail end of the season, but I am struggling to see much of an upside to his game. Ronaldo is naturally gifted, Nani not so much. |
On to football issues. . . . . . . Opinions on Nani for this season are sought. And I don't need your hyperbole ridden posts Jackal. Honest analysis welcomed. |

Weeds oo. . . .Best series I watched in ages. Berra than Mad Men sef. |
Hannibal:But I know plenty horror movie stars wey fine wella. |
Madrid have good defenders but they sure don't play good defence. Their 'wingers' leave their full backs exposed etc. No doubt Casillas is a great goalkeeper, especially his uncanny ability at shot stopping but he can't command his area like Van Der Saar can. As per the United defence, I think the contribution that aspect of United's game made to their successful season has been underrated. And it was a co-operative effort of all 11 players not individual efforts from Vidic or whoever. |
I actually agree with Hannibal but not necessarily for the same reasons. He is solid in all areas while his rivals have one shortcoming or another. Cassillas is a great shot stopper but his relative lack of height means he cannot relieve the pressure on his defence when those balls are getting crossed into the area. Cech is commanding but I don't think he has the greatest reflexes. @Hannibal. VDS'S record in the UCL says more about the defence in front of him than about his body of work. |
debosky:Robbie Keane certainly fits the bill with what he has so far. . . . .Keane has a quasi 'European game' which relies on smarts rather than athletic ability where he is seriously deficient. Sort of like Voronin but with goals. There is potential upside as he might prove a good foil for Torres, but that is the point. . . .20 million pounds for a foil is crazy business. Its the same gripe I have with a player like Tevez. They need equally if not better players around them to make the biggest impact. But players like Rooney, Henry, Ronaldo don't need much help. They should be the ones commanding 20 million pounds and above. |
