ikamefa. . .na you be that? Na wa ooo. . . .i dey try determine whether you be lolipop or osan wewe ![]() |
I actually agree with Jackal for a change. . . Biggie is perhaps the most naturally gifted rapper ever. He could spin a yarn like no other, but he lacked depth and range in subject matter. But what he did talk about, the guy talked about wellu wellu. |
His voice is his integral asset. Its a shame it doesn't come thru during the set. Naija representing sha. |
oh this is so exciting. . . . . |
@acid I knw say you go Soji. First of all you must renounce all suitors Secondly, YIM me of course, so I will tell you the details of yur first class ticket to London to acquaint yourself with your life mate. ![]() |
acidrop:Too late ke. . . Better adjust yourself If you must know. . .i won last week's euro lottery ![]() |
@acid come. . . .you knw we aint finished what we started. What berra way than as a couple. . . . . ![]() |
Hannibal:Well you would, if you heard what those Libyan Desert Guards can do with their batons when they have an anus to play with. Hehehehehehe |
Jackal, na so Judge go throw you comot from court. Have you ever heard of a female Decathlete? |
Jackal . . . , Don't you think you are taking these abstract thing too far. ![]() And better get your papers in order before Sept. Well you knw about that already I am sure. |
Kobojunkie:LIAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
After the campaign of sorts that is being waged against Obj, where sensationalism is the criteria for what is produced., I find it difficult to believe these stories anymore. |
You are trying to tell me Niggaz Bleed is abstract. You funny sha. . . . What would you call Black Thought then if you listened to him? Celestial I will give you suicidal thoughts. . . .I am not even going to talk about Me and My Bitch. But Damn, . . .I need to dust off some of my old Hip Hop CD's. Where did I put that EPMD |
Hannibal:For example ![]() |
4 Play:Exactly. As opposed to Bombast eh. . . . ![]() |
@stillwater. [flash=425,344] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0pnQj8HC9zQ&hl=en"[/flash] You should give something like this a try. Its right on the borders of hip hop, but on a hiphop album all the same. |
@Jackal. You simply need to expand your horizons. Rappers like Common are not popular because their thought process is as navigable as the Black Forest. It doesn't take a lot of mental capacity to break down Biggie's lyrics. Me, I like a bit more depth to my music. |
4 Play:4play. . . .it just shows what mental incisiveness you show with a lot less verbosity. ![]() |
@Debo 100% prolly will not solve the violence either. I envisage it might even escalate in the event with all that is at stake. The tipping point has already been reached. The Armed forces do not inspire confidence. Resource control or no resource control, the violence I am afraid is here to stay. My own reasons for agitating resource control are somewhat selfish. I have always argued that the whole of Nigeria, and not the Niger Delta alone has suffered becauseof these over reliance on the region's resouurces. The Resourcce control which is being agitated for will liberate the whole of Nigeria and not the Niger Delta alone. For one, this gay inter tribal alliance of our elites will have less of a reason to exist and there will be a lot more onus on local politicians to proffer solutions for local issues. Lines of responsibility for each locality will be easily discerned. |
Hannibal:I am actually contemplating whether Common should be No 1. Common's Like Water for Chocolate is only one notch below ILLMATIC I reckon. . . .naaaaaaaaaa |
@Lucabrasi Your solutions don't go far enuff at all. . . . . Give these people the proceeds from their resources. The region is being fleeced by the rest of Nigeria. |
Now this is my own pathetic attempt at a list Top ten hip hop artistes Nas Mos Def Jay Z Common Biggie Tupac Black Thought GZA Chuck D Talib Kweli It will prolly change tomorrow if i was asked again. Except the first six I guess |
Oh yes. . . .On Eminem For black artistes, their raison d'etre is to describe ghetto life in as many ways as they can. . . For Eminem. . . . . .It is how many ways to kill his mum, baby mama . . . . .The Way I am is a classic though. and that Renegade business is overplayed. |
@Hannibal/Jackal I can understand why you would have two biggie albums on your list. I can sense the influence he has on your life from the time I have known you. ![]() Quite an influence I must say. Canibus is gifted, but he has made some shitty albums bwoy. . . . Fiddy. . . .I ain't even gonna comment on that choice. Is Snoop Dogg a rapper? Well I guess for DoggyStyle- I will forgive him anything. I have never been the biggest Tupac fan, so I guess I would not rate him so highly. Brother took himself a tad too seriously. |
onyinye2:Here we go. . . . .the seminal 2pac vs Biggie argument. For all its worthI think each had their strong suit. For subject matter, display of emotion, 2PAC was it. But for sheer rap talent, flow, delivery, wordplay - - - - - - -it was Biggie hands down. @Hannibal Well I applaud you for even being able to come up with a list. Beyond ILLMATIC as my alltime no 1, my efforts to come up with a list have always been futile. Never seem to make up my mind. But I sure can pick holes in others' For the Album's list- - - - -No Eric B and Rakim (Paid in FUll). Many will tell you that is the greatest rap album ever made. No Reasonable Doubt by Jay Z. No Public Enemy's Nation of Millions. And not only do you have Fiddy's Get Rich Or Die Trying on your list, you actually put it above The Chronic and Doggystyle. |
