Abegi. . . .Na Stats we wan chop ![]() |
LadyT:Chill out babes. . . . . .Bad timing is all. All will be said to be well that ends well ![]() |
Oh Brother. . . .do tell. Does he rebound so much better, or is he a far better shooter.? Enlighten me |
@poster looking at your list. . . . i am sooooooooooooo in trouble |
@Hannibal Many Black power exponents will object to the inclusion of Patrice Lumumba in your list. |
The heat are in my shit list because of Riley. What an opportunist. He kicked Van Gundy out so he could take all the glory. Somebody say S-n-a-k-e And can someone please tell me why Shawn Marion has such a huge contract. All that money for a defensive stopper. I don't see James Posey getting anywhere near what he gets. Nba is the league democracy forgot. ![]() About the Nets. . . . . . .After all these moves, if they don't get Lebron in '10 ol boy, the owners will sure love to get rid of the team. Good young talent though. oh yes, bloody Vince Carter who has morphed into a jumpshooter should get shifted. To the Celtics hopefully. ![]() |
I see you are putting a spin on Stoudemire's move to power forward. Its well known around the league Amare was lazy especially on the glass and he hated to mix it with Tim Duncan. Nothing worse than a lazy player my dear. |
Stoudemire is such a great centre, Steve kerr had to go find a crumbling Shaq so he could be moved to power forward. Even Amare knows he aint no centre. As for Chandler- -- - --na so so alley oop we go chop. averaging no greater than 10 points per game isn't going to hack it babe. I did admit there is greater upside to Howards game, but right now, the NBA is MING-ING ![]() |
hehehehe. . . . . . . .we are just getting started. Camby is a good rebounder, shot blocker but he is not going to average more than 13 ppg in a season. So he sure ain't better than Ming. And the folks in Denver would bite your hand off if such a trade were ever proposed. Dwight Howard will be better than Yao Ming eventually, but his offensive skills need a lot of polishing. His hook shot is just ugly and for someone whose upper body is built like a Minotaur, his lower body is weak, as Jason Maxiell of the Pistons called out. The Winner is Yao Ming NB, . . .If Yao Ming had been in the playoffs, the Rockets would be champions. |
My bad. I don't know why I thought he was picked 7th. I remember the seventh pick got booed in that years draft, and naturally my mind went to Isiah. Well I have seen Garnett play the point before so Crawford playing it is no real surprise. I am not saying he is a crap player, he just ain't marque. How do you see the draft? I gues Hinrich is finished in Chicago now. I still think they should have taken Beasley and traded Deng instead. Beasley is quite a talent and will provide more points if not now, then in subsequent seasons, than Deng ever will. |
Federer through into the fourth round. Lost his first game on serve. Became a procession after that. |
I say last nite's match was further evidence, a midfielder attacking from deep poses a lot more problems than dedicated strikers functioning largely in the attacking third. Villa's exit and Fab's introduction galvanised the team. Xavi, Iniesta and Silva were liberated. |
I am surprised you gunners are not going gaga over Cesc's performance last nite. His introduction changed the game. |
Okay. . . . . . .make una use your ears hear this one. THERE IS NO BETTER CENTRE IN THE LEAGUE THAN YAO MING. FINISH. |
It seems lots of Russians have some form of Yoruba roots. Kudyratseva I hear has a Kudirat somewhere in her lineage/ The Russian goalkeeper is another. Akinfeev-------Akinfenwa |
Eh. . . .You people should leave Djoko alone ooo. He is a lot livelier character than the other members of the top3. Safin has got game, and on his day will cause the likes of Djokovic problems. The matchup suits him because they practically play a similar game, and he Safin is stronger. Djoko's serve let him down, but I expect him to bounce back/ As an aside. . . . .can anyone tell me if they have seen a tennis pro play the drop shot as much as Murray does. Like jeez, every three shots, he must play a drop shot. Entertaining though ![]() |
Our indigenous religions should be given right of way, when they come into conflict with all all these non indigenous religions. They give us our identity after all. |
@Davidylan I am afraid I have to disagree. The Williams sisters have as many inconsistencies in their game as much as Sharapova does, notably Serena's forehand. Sharapova's acchilles heel at the moment is her serve. The wind seemed to disturb her more than it prolly should, Last year it was also her serve, when she had a shoulder injury. I feel you about the 'face of tennis' comment. . . .the way the cookie crumbles mehn. @Razorr. Also saw the Gulbis game. I was hopeful after Gulbis took the first set. But Nadal figured out the serve and Gulbis forehand, his biggest weapon grew ever more erratic. Gulbis looks like a talent. His serve can be harder I suppose for someone of his height, and a little more control on his groundstrokes and he might crack top 10 |
Many good points on this thread, from the revolutionaries to the conservative 'One Nigeria' peddlers to the separatists. All have spoken well. My own contribution leans towards the abstract e.g luck, chance, fate etc. Basically, 'Nigeria is ill-fated'. Social action will only go so far where the structural arrangement are so inclined towards the fatalistic status quo. Like I wrote earlier in this thread, whether we like it or not, we live and die with the elites who lead us. But the altruistic notion that elites act in our intersts is a fallacy. This does not apply to Nigeria alone. It is a worldwide truism. Politicians/leaders/elite have only one motivation, and that is the acquisition or retention of power. For some societies, this power squabbles have led to the development of their societies. While for others, they have led to an inexonerable disaster. Nigeria, unfortunately for those of us who care about it, falls into the latter category. The 'structural forces' are overwhemingly supportive of the kind of corrupt and perverse politics and polity that we have in the country. So what solution can I proffer. How do we manipulate these forces to discourage this immoral drama in which we are currently immersed.? Well, I am humble enough to say none. For the lot of the country, life is harsh. But there are enough carrots dangled- - - -a political post in the local government, a criminal enterprise, a bank job- - - - - - to keep many of the suffering classes suitably pacified. The prevailing sentiment is that there are opportunities, one simply has to be smart enough to grab them. This is far below the level of discontent necessary for a revolution I feel. Separation is also out of the question. Too many people with too much to lose in such a scenario. Interests with the resources to nip such an event in the bud. The signs are not good for this country. Of course, you get morsels of encouragement, from certain quarters. More often than not, it is pathetic achievements like the cleanup of Aba Market or Tinubu Square that reach our ears. The bad news on the other hand come in droves, from ritualism to a decrepit public service. It is a shame you cannot find a decent herbalist where the fate of tens of millions are at stake. |
@Gabe Logan Oh that Gabe Logan. . . . .Pop culture sure is difficult to keep up with nowadays. I still maintain Jamal Crawford is a bit hit and miss. Takes so many off balance shots. And his handle is not good enough at the guard position, and a bit undersized for the forward position. But he can be hot as a pure shooter. Belkman provides hustle for sure. . . . . . . . , but jeez, not seventh pick in the draft mehn. @Jesoul I see, the KG and Allen trade is now the template for all struggling franchises eh? Well, na who win dey get mouth abi. Lets just see how long that trio's geriartric legs can keep up. Don't underestimate the D'antoni though. We are talking about the East after all. Yeye Boston did it abi. |
i actually agree with gabe logan. The Knicks roster isn't half bad. There are some good players onif that team, and in spurts, they showed all they needed was good coaching which Isiah wasn't able to provide. Zach Thomas is indeed a double double player, but for his impatience, the Blazers would have been better for it if he had stayed. Jamal Crawford is a bit hit and miss, but so is 90 per cent of the NBA. Nate Robinson is not a true point guard but he is mad athletic and willing to run. A gem in D'antoni's system. Mr Brandy has also played with D'antoni so the run and gun style should come naturally to him. David Lee has hustle, especially on the glass, and he is good trade bait if the Knicks ever decide to go down that route. Obviously there are some duds on this team, not least Marbury, the former And 1king or Malik Rose, guys with oversized contracts. Or bone headed decisions like taking Renaldo Belkman seventh in the draft. On D'antoni's appointment, I think Donnie Walsh is trying to buy time. D'antoni at least offers prospects of a fun and gun style to keep the faithfuls entertained while he overhauls the roster. Anything above qualifying for the playoffs would be a bonus. By the way @Gabe Logan. . . . .Is there another Gabe Logan in the States I should know of. The Gabby Logan I know is at the BBC, and I sure love me some Gabby baby. . . . . . . . |
WesleyanA:revolting process indeed |
WesleyanA:Haha. , . . . . . .Academic L'omo ![]() |
oldie:I have read your previous posts with great interest and not a little delight but with respects to your 'common-man centric' proposition, I am afraid I have to disagree. Whether he or she likes it or not, the common man is at the mercy of those small packet of individuals who, because of their possesion of a certain quality, they stand out. A society rises or falls based on the character of these individuals. Unfortunately in our case, we have sprouted the most decadent, deceitful and evil clique probably that mankind has ever seen. |
BIG B1 what do you think about your Hero's opiniion of the Abacha Presidency? According to him, Abacha was a saint who did not loot the economy. Answer me abeg |
The babe is not that bad looking jo. . . . All she needs is some liposuction. . . . . some chleioplasty. . . . . errr a few chiropractic sessions. a chassis hairdresser. . . . a few sessions in the gym. . . . some implants in the chest area. . . . abeg, me sef i tire |
Big b1, I would like your opinion on the 'Abacha is a saint' chorus that was sang at his memorial by no less than your cult hero Babangida. What say you? Do you agree Abacha did not loot this country |
favcom:Positive in what way/ There are no certainties in that country, except recycled stank-ass leaders and ignorant, cannibalistic followers. |
Radiant:blasting the whole damned entity into smithereens. who cares? The nation is cursed- - - - -Murderous, homosexual alliance of elites, and cynical, suicidal masses. Worst thing about my existence is being a citizen of that country. |
bilymuse:good point. |
After that Abacha Memorial Debacle, where I came close to being mentally secluded by the NHS, I have resolved not to bother about this country in any way, shape or form. Even if the country were to be exterminated in a Nuclear Holocaust, my response would be 'Good Riddance to Bad Rubbish'/ |
RedHotChic:Hear Hear. I guess that is why this tragic drama is played countrywide and not only in Oyo State. |
