@4play and Imani

What do you expect from a country where every name is preceeded by a title.

Engineer this, Architect that, Surveyor those, Accountant us.

God Forbid that anyone without the appropriate title be given the portfolio that does not fit.

I would have a lot of time for Col. Umar but for the fact that he came to prominence under Babangida

I have not heard as much as a whisper of criticism about his former boss's regime.

Beyond that,he claims the Fed intervened to pump in cheap cheap credit but Fed interest rates started rising, from a low of 1% in 2004,to around 4.75% as at 2007.That is hardly an expansionary monetary policy.
This I think is the clincher
Politics › Re: If H.clinton Happens To Win The Primary Election, I Will Not Vote For Her! by doyin13(m): 7:53pm On Mar 26, 2008
hmmm. . . .I don't buy it.

There are two different crises at work here.

The original crisis was the subprime mess and the realisation that people without any creditworthiness had been handed loans they might not be able to
repay.
The present crisis is a liquidity crunch caused by the dicing and slicing of loans to the effect that no one knows who owns or owes what. Banks are still
reluctant to come clean about the bad loans on their books.
Had the subprime crisis been the only problem, it would have been a clear case of isolating the cancerous bodies from the wider system, sort of like the
LTCM mess in 1998.
Much of the cheap credit that was circulating was from outside the US as well, from sovereign wealth funds etc.
Eventually, I suspect the total liability will not exceed 400 billion dollars. At least that is the figure being bandied around.

BTW. . . . .4Play

Doesn't the methods employed be the Fed, the active intervention to stabilise the market, emphasise my point
the KEYNESIANISM is alive.

Politics › Re: If H.clinton Happens To Win The Primary Election, I Will Not Vote For Her! by doyin13(m): 4:36pm On Mar 26, 2008
And besides most of these loans were made by less than stellar organisations, the Countrywide's and Household's(subprime companies) of this world
hardly vessels through which the Fed would influence economic activity.

I do agree with 4play. The economic boom had its genesis prior to the mess in Iraq and you must remember even up till June/July last year, the global economy was still on a tear with the US at the vanguard.

Besides much of the cheap credit of the past few years have been sourced from wealthy investors outside of America not from within.

Big B1. . . .4play might have his errrr ''pedestal-ic'' way of argument cheesy but I do agree, there is hardly any connection between the Iraq war and
the subprime debacle.

Hope Ferrari snatch it again. . . . . McClaren's obsession with Hamilton's success will be their downfall, the focus is so much on him that you'd think he's the only driver they've got . . . . .
Hmm. . .so how does this intense focus explain Kovalainen qualifying ahead of Hamilton.

The clearest indication of a driver being favoured by a team is through team orders.

And Alonso's gripe last season was that he wasn't a beneficiary of these.

And so far this season, there is no evidence Hamilton has benefited from them either.

Ooops. . . .Ferrari Strikes Back

The front row is all Ferrari I am afraid.

Mclaren are back in Eighth and Ninth with Kovalainen and Hamilton respectively.

It would be a challenge for Hamilton to rise up the board. It is from positions like this that great drivers show their mettle.

I doubt it will ever be possible to come to a unanimous conclusion about what constitutes or what group can be correctly identified as a terrorist organisation.

Using your example of Law Enforcement Agencies, there are examples in times past of such, Fascist and Communists no less, that are now described in
'terrorist' terms.

Sports › F1 Racing: Hamilton Wellwishers Only by doyin13(op): 11:44pm On Mar 19, 2008
Boy was I pleased about the weekend's results.

My thoughts on the race

- Raikonnen's car looks fast, but its reliability might be its Achilles heel.
Hopefully by the time Ferrari sort out the issues, Hamilton would be out of sight in the points race
like Alonso and Schumacher two seasons ago

-the new laws against traction control figure to make this season quite memorable. The specter of less than
ten cars finishing a race will be seen frequently throughout the season

-Doesn't Alonso wish he had not done a 'Le Sulk' all of last season. His car doesn't look competitive at all

-How long will Massa maintain a seat at Ferrari. His drive on Sunday was appalling.

-Isn't Hamilton just a stud. grin
