Jakumo: SabiSabi's choice of a thread title is misleading as the subject does not relate in any way to dead bodies, but to the PRETENCES affected by a good many Nigerians who on return to their home country feel an overwhelming compulsion to draw the attention of "local" Nigerians to the returnee's perceived superiority, generally with hysterically funny spoken English accents that are completely unintelligible to both Nigerians and foreigners alike, but which are in fact intended to demonstrate that the returnee has assimilated Western mores which are fervently hoped will impress and intimidate Nigerians who reside full-time in Nigeria.
Returning from the West to Nigeria and using cutlery to eat traditional African foods that are customarily eaten without cutlery is another manifestation of the same mentality that causes the afflicted to scream "Look at me in envy, please, because I am no longer African after my 2-week visit to Europe, and am thus VASTLY superior to you Kunta Kinte Africans"
This pathological desperation of returnee Africans to impress and awe non-emigrant Africans in their home country is a direct result of the humiliation that many Africans feel from the accumulated racist slights, prejudices, insults and foreclosed opportunities they endure with painful regularity while they reside in Europe and particularly North America.
Smarting from the sad realization that London or New York is rarely the fabled promised land for any black person, regardless of national origin, Nigerians living in the West will PROUDLY converse amongst each other in their tribal dialects for convenience, but more importantly to distinguish themselves as "free born" blacks who can peer down their noses at the teeming slave descendant "street niggers" that grew up in the West.
Ironically, those same folks who display their tribal language as a badge of honor in London or Los Angeles will INSTANTLY switch to an highly amusing approximation of American-accented English the MINUTE they de-plane in Lagos, with the identical motivation of trying desperately to appear "more equal than others" in order to compensate for the battering their pride and ego suffer DAILY in the West, on account of their PERMANENT race and skin color. Wow. . . . . .this is a stunning bit of scholarship Ten Gbosas for you |

A bountiful bosom, waists that wiggle from side to side and booty that you can bounce off is a sure recipe for y-chromosomes |

There is an Igbo proverb that comments on the discomfort of the elderly at the mention of old bones etc.
Considering McCain is no spring chicken himself, he really should avoid all talk of health or death.
Castro has outlived many presidential foes before him and I would not bet against him beating McCain either. |
