Who paid for the buses used in the BRT scheme? You want to use BRT as an example but you want to ignore a mega project like Eko Atlantic? What about the major project going on in Lekki? What about the planned railway network? All these are going to be ignored? What percentage of the capital did the government cover/ is the government covering for these projects?
I struggle to recollect anywhere where EKO atlantic has been referred to as a Public Private partnership.
Where funding comes strictly from Private sources, surely it ceases to be a PPP arrangement.

Sky Blue:
Did Tinubu also fund the BRT schemes, buy the buses as well? Is Tinubu also funding the Eko Atlantic Project? Let us ignore the fact that their exists these things called Businesses (Banks, companies, etc) not just in Lagos but around the country as well, could you at least pretend to have heard of this thing called foreign investments? Gosh. The quality of arguements you see nowadays. LOOOL.
Using the BRT as an example. . . . .the government was responsible for all the ''fixed infrastructure'' e.g depot, bus shelters, lane demarcations.
So it is more than likely the Government will indeed pony up some money in any PPP arrangement.

You know this how and because? Or is this just joining the crowd of self appointed experts? Have you got any data to back up such postulations?
If increased capacity via another airport would prove economically beneficial then I am all for it. What is amusing is people not being able to actually argue beyond conjectures and speculation.
The only reason I can think of for the building of a new airport in Lekki is
poor access to MMA.

If so, then a better case can be made for improving transport links to
MMA, rail and road, that will benefit the wider populace as well as the
flying public.

I hate Man Utd. . .but football like the way Inter played
against them doesn't work. They stretch you and most
importantly put so many people in the box defenders
don't half know who to mark.

Until the last ten minutes, Barca were playing Arsenal
football, the way they played against Chelsea last season
and United two seasons ago at this stage in the Nou Camp.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: UCL Semi: Barcelona Vs Inter [1 - 0; 2 - 3 Agg]On Wednesday 28th April by doyin13(m): 9:45pm On Apr 28, 2010
The seeds of this defeat were sown at the beginning of the season. . . .

The exchange of Etoo for Ibrahimovic in a team that did not need any
change has hurt this team greatly. Their movement is a lot worse now
up front .

It was the same changes that brought in the likes of Thuram and Zambrotta
which hurt them a few seasons back.

In addition. . . Pep Guardiola simply isn't the best football brain around and his win
last season was greatly down to a great deal of luck. Borjan for Ibrahimovic defies logic
as is leaving Henry on the bench all game. Maxwell should have come on for Milito much
earlier that is if he should have been on the bench at all.

Its a real shame. . .I was hoping someone would shut Mourinho up. I will have to rely on
Van Gaal now.

Hardtalk:
If the roads are good, and every other infrastructure is in place, we might say this man is bereft of ideas, so lets allow him, but Lagos is still far off expectation, so why another airport? Besides, how many people can afford air transportation in Lagos? All these talks about Lagos being 15million plus, does not hold water, as a very minute population can afford air transportation. If he is short of ideas, he should watch the BBC documentary about Lagos again. He will definitely know what to do. The fact that, it is PPP does not mean anything. PPP can provide houses. PPP can provide electricity. PPP can make the rail come back to live etc.
I am in no way defending the airport building. . . .I think its a misplacement of priorities.

But the bridge is already being built is what I wanted to point out.

google- independent power producers (IPPs) smart guy, instead of talking like an idiot.
Common sense should tell you that private companies dont buy from the national grid but add and produce electricity(from, nuclear, bio fuel, coal, solar, Gas, Water etc) for profit and make sure demands are met.
lol. . . .you feel so smart don't you.

Are you assuming the privatisation of the distribution entities includes any powers to
generate or you know something everyone else doesn't know?

As far as I can tell from the article, there is nothing to indicate the power over generation
will be relinquished by the federal government and all the independent power projects
will still have to run through the national grid.

And seriously. . . . stop being an arse. . . .If you want to comparatively judge the size of your breasts ,

Are you the governor's paid agent?

Cos no investigative committee will ever release her report in botches or release it to the public without 1st reporting to the assembly.
lol. . . I meant newspaper report. So slow your roll.

Kobojunkie:
Oh!!! When I hear the word PROBE, especially when government is involved, I immediately think investigation into government affairs to ensure that rule of law is being followed. . .  why does the group need to have EVIDENCE for a probe to be conducted? Why isn't the assembly requiring the government open up it's books so it can be investigated to ensure the allegations are not true?

I don't even have a clue if any of the allegations made were factual or none( however, I do admire the audacity of the group, and the fact that some people out there understand what power they have in a democracy), but I am not even more curious than ever. I want to know how the money was actually spent.
Call me a conspiracy theorist, but I have grown both wary and in awe of the public relations machine of the state government, I have begun to suspect this whole charade might be orchestrated to make Fashola look squeaky clean at the end of the day. To add to the Fashola aura, ''the man who braved EFCC and the Assembly''.

Some of the allegations on close inspection sound so frivolous and contrived as one Assembly lady quickly pointed out
over the Oshodi demolitons which allegedly cost a billion and a half.

I just read a report on the first few days of the Assembly inquiry and it doesn't look
too good for the petitioners.

It is starting to look like many of the allegations were simply fed to this Adesina dude
to make public by ''sources''.

bawomolo:
just because it's privatized, doesn't it mean it can't be regulated.
Privatizing the distribution companies doesn't address the critical problem of generation.

It is highly likely the privatized distribution companies with money behind them could buy
much of the power being generated.

If the government decides to ration the amount of power each distribution company gets
then it defeats the purpose of getting involved in distribution in the first place.

The South South governors seem determined to leverage
the tribe of the Acting President to force this through.

And it just might happen because they and to a lesser extent
lagos can muster the financial resources to make it happen.

I suspect the other ''regions'' will be against it because these
two could use their considerable financial muscle to buy most
of the limited power generated.

@Kobojunkie.

It is this erroneous sense of altruism that leads many people that go back
home to lose their marbles. Societies are not enriched by charity, rather they
get richer because of pure unbridled selfish greed.

Americans and Britons don't wake up every morning thinking what am I going to
do to aid my community. These nations have grown through the profit motive which
enriches individuals first and their societies subsequently.

So if a Nigerian going back home has seen his stock rise as a result of such a move,
he shouldn't be dismissed as an opportunistic returnee who couldn't hack it abroad.
