Just saw this update 3days ago,in the u.s with the twins. Not an easy something, need help with them. They have been all good even in our flight from lagos to Washington but occasionally tantrums can just be something else. Anybody ever had that kind of status. ugoguchy: I had similar experience my dear, mine was in may,at 41 weeks, went into active labour, left for the hospital, heartbeat was monitored, nurse said i cant get the heartbeat please lay sideways,i managed to get into that position and the heartbeat was finally picked but wasn't regular, next thing water broke and it was greenish, baby has pooped inside, few minutes later baby came out,was rushed to NICU,heartrate was fluctuating, she couldn't breathe on her own,she was placed on oxygen, antibiotics too, during that period a cardiologist had to be called in to examine her heart, she spent 3 nights in NICU,each night was amounting to $20k,she was stable after the 2nd night and the oxygen was taken out, upon discharge we got the total bill of almost $60k,i paid paediatrician, radiologist, cardiologists, gynaecologist differently,am glad we came out victorious, the devil really tried so had, starting from my visa processing but we over came,we are back and all bills cleared, the placenta to come out is story for another day,it was a short but difficult labour that ended in praise.... All glory to God alone. It's really well. |

Hello house, I dropped my POE transcript about a month ago . Had my LO over a week ago. Everything was okay , less than 3mins apart , called Uber and left for the hospital . Heartbeat was monitored : I'm sorry baby's getting distressed . Need a C.S done fast . Was already in full labour less than 2 mins serious contractions . Baby was out : what's going on , can't hear him , they were apparently trying to suck out a lot from him . He had swallowed meconum ( not fresh ) . He started crying , was shown to me and was rushed down to NICU. It was tough - couldn't get answers cos no1 was sure of how the outcome will be ....Oxygen , medications , Nitric oxide...... a lot of stuffs. God be glorified everything has be stabilized , even the Doctors are wooed at the progress ,..... Now, Financial Counsellor is on my neck , who will pay ? I have to pay for the facilities and the paedatrician? Can I draw a payment plan? It will be too high - about $500k, you can only get a discount, $100k . Medicaid lady on my case . I don't want MEDICAID o. Got the option of filing for grant-NGO not govt sponsored .No sure 1 . I can always set up a payment plan for the peadatricians fees but I don't know how to go about the hospital fees . I'm grateful LO would be out of there soon . Any ideas? HOSP- Henrico Doctors HOSP. |

Mamaiyanu: Hello guys,
Please I need your opinion on something.
1. I'm gonna be travelling at 35weeks plus 2 days. I've read conflicting information on this thread about flying with Emirates. Is 35weeks +1 say equal to 36weeks ? Do I need to fill the medif form to fly at 35w+2days? Or is my doctors fit to fly sufficient?
2. For those that used Dr Xydas/HNWMC, do I need to do labs here or are they covered in the fee paid? As much as possible I don't want to incur additional cost in the US on labs.
Thanks a mill for your response. Doctor's fit to fly |

Tripletmom: In the spirit of giving back. Had my baby girl at Henricho doctor’s hospital n used Dr W.F Presented at the emergency after my EDD wen I started contracting but after bin observed for about 6-8hours was told to go back home to avoid accumulating bill since i wasn’t dilating but after about 24hours I had my baby.
Was discharged 2days after delivery Hospital fee Mother $2100 Baby $275 Got my zero bal reciept bfor i left the hospital. Emergency fee $1471 Came in after about a week of discharge, called the financial counsellor and it was further discounted to $176.52 I made sure it was a discount n not Medicaid or any form of insurance.
Doctor fee-$850 My naija medical investigation report were approved First doctor appt fee -$120 den subsequent visit $30 Did about 2 investigations approx $150 Also paid an additional $100 for the emergency
Peadiatrican fee 1059$ was given 25% ($794)discount which was to be paid within 30 days. Epidural fee $6500 called n was also discounted to $1450 Hearing test cancelled. Paid all fee over the phone n got zero bal receipts in d mail. Follow up peadiatrician $250 for 2 visits at Gaithersburg MD
SSN came in almost a month after delivery The lady at vital statistics refused to collect my money order for BC at d hospital. She told me to call after 4 weeks to know if it’s has bin processed n den go pick it up at DMV while I drop d money order. After several calls was told it wasn’t processed because d money order was not dropped n I was advised to send in a new application which I did n got my LO’s BC in less than 2 weeks
US passport application $175 I was told to come pick it up nxt day but I left it til d day I went for naija passport interview. Naija passport $77 For pick up June 26 but showed the person in charge my flight itinerary n was told to come after 2 days.
Accommodation: My sis made herself available for me during my appt days. About 3hours drive from MD to Richmond.
Bought my LO’s ticket $102 (Turkish Airline)at the airport On board bassinet was provided. Had 23hrs layover at Istanbul , was able to pay for my LO’s e-visa online using my Skye bank dom acct card bfor departure but I did mine at d self hlp desk paid with my GTB naira master card. checked in to the hotel n had complimentary breakfast.
During this missionary journey DH went for his visa interview twice, he was refused the first time, reapplied n got interviewed after I delivered n was approved.
Everythng I learnt was from dis forum. Thank you all..... Congratulations are you still around ? |

D you tell them you were self-paid? That is high o. sevule: I was shocked that you paid $8,609 for a C-Section. My wife just gave birth via C-Section and the total bill was approximately $46,000. However since I have health insurance, I only paid $1,000 out of pocket, and the rest was covered by insurance.

chibertha: I did at 36 weeks went with fit to fly from my ANC Dr. Port health fit to fly was not requested. Go to the airport of choice for location of port health there. It is also quite easy to get ticket for baby. Finally check their website for the most up to date information and possibly print it and take along on date of travel. Do you need a Schengen visa to fly Air France? |

Amy20: Good day everyone and congrats to those that have had their babies and congrats in advance to those yet to.
Pls i have an issue. What is the consequence of my baby's ssn being used for us tax refunds by an host and how can one cancel so there wont be a re-occurrence. Thanks in advance There has been a lot of ugly stories. It's better to be safe than sorry. I'm going to get a longer stay at the hotel just to avoid this. For new mums stay longer where you can be the first to get hold of it instead of your host. |
