fancyupage: I listened to a recent interview of mr president at Al Jazeera and could not but kept asking, "how did we get here?".
PMB admitted not having good knowledge of the budget that generated so much issues compare to the interviewer. I would have thought judging from the "alleged padding" the president would have equipped himself with full understanding of the budget and ability to clearly explain why the VP has got more money for books compare to some of our higher institutions.
The president also lack empathy when he said, if you want to study abroad, search for the currency at your own expense as the official forex cannot support it. This is despite the president having kids studying abroad ..... tough luck. If the president does not know the benefit of foreign education to the development of our fragile economy, then who should? we have chemistry PhD holders from Nigerian Universities who has never seen an High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) let alone a Gas chromatography mass spec (GCMS) and the president is proud to discourage opportunities to widen knowledge? Nigerians in diaspora sent $20billion home in 2015, this is so because some Nigerians that studied abroad and gainfully employed are sending money back home.
Also Nigerians that studied abroad and now working in Nigeria are clearly using their skills to further develop our country.
Conclusively, any country that push back education either locally or internationally is threading on the path of ignorance. You mean you understood what Buhari was saying? |

kimond101: Every prophets mentioned in the monotheistic religions used this Way of saying thanks or praying to GOD, the postures use is also beneficial when you are at a mediated state of mind (also it improves your respiratory functions which is miraculous) since this question is specific on Jesus, in Islamic context we believe he worshipped GOD in this way, as Muslim believes he was not lord himself as there is one God! However prior to Jesus many prophets before him prayed in this way. Since the modern alternatives being adapted into the Christian faith this way of praying may not have been highly interpreted or used as Islam brought the 5 times prayer system where muhammad constantly used the same posture for his prayers.
However, please see below references to illustrates the same :
These are some of the Prophets whom GOD blessed. They were chosen from among the descendants of Adam, and the descendants of those whom we carried with Noah, and the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and from among those whom we guided and selected. When the revelations of the Most Gracious are recited to them, they fall prostrate, weeping." – Qur’an English Translation [19:58]
"And he (Jesus) went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt." - New Testament (Matthew 26:39)

“And Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they fell upon their faces: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto them.” - Old Testament (Tanakh) (Numbers 20:6)
"And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment. And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?" - Old Testament (Tanakh) (Numbers 16:20-22)
And Ezra blessed the LORD, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the LORD with [their] faces to the ground. - Old Testament (Tanakh) (Nehemiah 8:6)
"And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant?" - Old Testament (Tanakh) (Joshua 5:14)
"And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?" - Old Testament (Tanakh) (Ezekiel 9:
"And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD." - Old Testament (Tanakh) (2 Chronicles 20:18)
"And it came to pass, when I prophesied, that Pelatiah the son of Benaiah died. kimond101: 11. Not worshipping God the way the Bible prescribed
Nehemiah 8New International Version (NIV)
8 1 all the people came together as one in the square before the Water Gate. They told Ezra the teacher of the Law to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded for Israel.
2 So on the first day of the seventh month Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand. 3 He read it aloud from daybreak till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
4 Ezra the teacher of the Law stood on a high wooden platform built for the occasion. Beside him on his right stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; and on his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malkijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam.
5 Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up. 6 Ezra praised the Lord, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, “Amen! Amen!” Then they bowed down and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
7 The Levites—Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah—instructed the people in the Law while the people were standing there. 8 They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear[a] and giving the meaning so that the people understood what was being read. That is the way they did it at that time not a prescription from the Bible. If that's the way it's supposed to be, that means everybody in the New Testament: the disciples, Paul, even Jesus were all doing nonsense. Don't say what you don't understand. #KnowThyself |

You can hardly see a mature guy use Beyonce, Kim K, Tiwa Savage, Rihanna, Shakira, Weird MC, Dija, etc as dp but u will see ladies using male celebrities as their dp even when they have boyfriends, fiancees and husbands...showing how vain women are.
Any guy at all using a female celebrity as dp, check well....he must be under 20yrs.
Same way, it's only women that faint, cry, beg for pics, beg to touch a male singer on stage....no mature and sane guy does that to a female artist no matter how beautiful she is....men too get sense sha
But even old women use male celebrities, musical artists as dps....showing how unfaithful in heart and mind women are when they see a popular man So what's your point? |

NigeriaKitchen: Miracle just happened....the boy had been crying and refused eating since he checked his JAMB result according to the mom, which was one of the reasons everybody wanted to do anything possible to ensure he gets admission this year, and I was already considering schooling abroad but we all are afraid of that....but then God did wonders yesterday.
I just received a call from the boy that his real JAMB result has been released by JAMB because they had issue at their center, so the system submitted their test without completing it...and one of the JAMB officials at their center on the day of the exam called Abuja central server office to report the issue....so finally, JAMB recalculated their result because it was only 40 questions that was automatically submitted initially according to the little boy....he's so brilliant everybody was worried how come...
So...his real JAMB score now is 240.....and his personal instructor is still not satisfied because the boy is good and in fact, deserve to win JAMB award of best candidate.
So all issues solved....thank you to all that contributed to this thread...thank you....God bless you all...God still does miracle to those that believe and trust in Him....God just answered the little boy's innocent prayers, may God be praised forever!! Congratulations to the boy. I wish him success in his future endeavours. I'm taking my JAMB next week. |

hungryboy: Our economy is not looking so good, prices of imported goods are going through the roof, dollar is exchanging for 400 naira plus, The blame should probably fall on those running our Country right?, But is it because we have a short memory, or we pretend to forget that what happened in past administrations is affecting us now.
Since the discovery of crude oil, our country has made trillions of dollars of it, Yet we have nothing tangible to show for it, and even a war torn Iraq has more in foreign reserve($57070 billion) than us . We discovered oil almost at the same time with Norway, yet today, Norway has a sovereign wealth fund worth $800billion and we only have $1.5billion in our's. 80% or more of our forex earnings come from crude oil, and crude is dead cheap right now, if we had enough saved in our forex reserves, that could have been used to prop up the naira, the same Ogas bashing Buhari, are the same guys who put us in this mess. Forget past administrations and leave Buhari to do something! You sef use your sense! If you keep calling past administrations to protect Buhari, how will the situation be better. If anyone is blaming Buhari for all their misfortunes, that's the person's business. |
