heykims: They don't regret, they may lament though simply because they are not appreciated in this country. Go to d developed nations and see how doctors live, some consultants can even afford private jets. I studied in Nigeria, spent 9 yrs in school without repeating a class. Yet with d situation of things in this country, if I were to start all over again, Id still go for medicine. You mean you spent 9 years in medical school? |

Wisdomkosi: . Thanks bro, I'm learning a skill, I will be 20 years next year. Just that, the institution I applied has disappointed me two times. I should have been in my second year by now. Age is just a number, not a factor.A fulfilled life is the ultimate! |

Wisdomkosi: I'm not financially buoyant, so I can only further after getting NCE, get a job, that's teaching before furthering my education. If you're really interested in university Education,I suggest you forfeit this admission and concentrate fully on next year's jamb.since, you're not financially ok,scholarships will be of immense help to you while in school.cheers! |

Wisdomkosi: The federal University I applied didn't offer me admission for the second time, I got 202 in my Jamb and 192 in their post utme, but no admission. Just this afternoon, I got a message that I have been given admission into one college of education in my area. I have been thinking about it, I don't know whether to register for another jamb or accept the admission. After I have gotten the NCE certificate, I will then enroll for direct entry into any University of my choice. I really need your advice my fellow nairalanders. I'm in my early 20s please. Seun, Lalasticlala, Ishilove, NCE,DE ?I don't think it's seemingly possible.you may accept the admission and take jamb again while in sch, that's if you're financially buoyant. |

Dbrainiac1: They will continue with the old normal system. The new policy is for those that will be admitted next year i.e 2016/2017 session. This policy is still subjected to further scrutiny and debate because respective medical schools involved may choose to adhere to either of these three conditions state which are:1)a 7 year MBBS/BDS programmes which will lead to the award of two degrees: bsc basic medical sciences +MBBS and Bachelor of Dental sciences+BDS respectively..I still wonder how this is going to affect the qualities of the holders..To me,A waste of time, resources e.t.c.2) respective schools involved may choose to continue with the six year programme at their own discretion...SEE CONFUSION |

Dbrainiac1: You will be admitted by DE if you are a qualified graduate of Nursing, Pharmacology, Physiotherapy, Image Science, Paramedics, Anatomy, Biochemistry and pharmacy...for a four year course leading to MBBS/BDS(dats for DE). But if u r starting from d core through UTME, u have to a basic medical science course either Anatomy, Biochemistry or Physiology for 3 years, in wic u will be awarded a B. Med. Science or B. Dental science... after then if u meet d certain requirements u will be admitted for a four year course leading to the award of MBBS or BDS Isn't it similar to writing 1st mb exam in which successful candidates will proceed to clinical postings?maybe, they wanted clinical years to be spent a minimum of 4 years..because,from what I read,it seems they are not admitting as from next year into MBBS/BDS but rather, into anatomy, physiology e.t.c |

bushdoc9919: Not only UNIBEN....and the reason is simple.
While the rest of you university students have to face ASUU strike alone....we have ASUU strike, Doctors strike, JOHESU strike etc....in the hospitals...where our clinical training takes place. And that delays students.
I myself spent an extra year at my school.....because of hospital union strikes....including one that happened the year I gained admission! IIs Dentistry affected? |
