I asked a question.since,you presume Optometry is far ahead of Dentistry,then,it is also ahead of medicine.comparing Dentistry with optometry is just like comparing Barcelona with warri wolves.Dentists are more respected and far ahead anywhere in the world.I don't really fartom the meaning of private practise here because there are no restrictions in private practise.Anybody can set up a hospital/ clinic provided he has the financial back up and he employs staff as he wants: Non medical persons can establish clinics,he does not practise..In Nigeria ,there is residency program for Dentistry unlike optometry which automaticaly makes you a consultant.then ,you'll be in grade level 15 whereas an optometrist languishes in 10 or 12..so,Dentistry is far better. dentistry should be compared with medicine( No need for comparisons since they are brothers)not slave' like optometry.its an insult.

Lol..hungry dentist misleading the general public , try leaving the comfort of government work and set up private make hunger wound you.. Optometry is simply politicized in Nigeria due to black man mentality.
In the USA it's a post graduate course(studies after a 4yr basic science course) just like medicine and they are the first doctors to be seen regarding eye health(primary eye care) before referral to any other health practitioner including the opthalmologist.

They deal directly with the optician who cuts and glazes the spectacle prescription , they are solely in charge of lenses including contacts. some opthalmologists just try to be greedy and can't give you a proper refraction.
Ophthalmologist are mainly in charge of the surgical aspects which even come once in a blue moon due to the fact that most people that require eye surgeries except for some rare cases do do in their old age (senile degeneration)e.g cataracts
Prescribing drugs is something both an optometrists and opthalmologists generally can do and it's not so lucrative because most drugs used are not that expensive even the most expensive for glaucoma (3k-4k).. In private practice an optometrist is far ahead of a dentist even in the north where dentists get the most patronage..

Am not sure if the school will be admitting students for MBBS this year because last year they didn't as MDCN rules out the school must not admit despite choosing eksu in jamb..they wrote to JAMB concerning MDCN directive due to the fact the students were over admitted
Just before the 2nd MB exam was written in September, we had 300 level A, 300B, 300 C, The accreditation issues has been resolved..the 300a &b of 42 students wrote their 2nd mb exam last year and 300-C will write theirs in March, this year..so accreditation isn't an issue for now but i cant assure if students will be admitted this for medicine this year

I really need your encouragement at this point, I've enrolled for jamb again for medicine but I just can't explain what am going through to you guys....I'm really getting tired of this chase, I just feel there is too much to be done in no time. My 100lvl first semester exam is by February and jamb exams would be kicking off at that time. I'm so confused, I've always been able to draw inspiration from within me but this time I need you all.

Are you from Uniben? If yes,I've many guys in this situation as you're. The fact is that,you have extra work to do this semester by balancing your academics: don't let one affect the other.I believe you must have started studying for jamb by now so as to pave way for your exam prep in February..many persons have succeeded doing this...Good luck!
