I would keep my grammar as simple as possible, need i say i grew up in a Spanish neighborhood. The second page of this interesting thread had me wanting to address a fact, truth is when we humans break man-made laws of their respective societies, all they need worry about is being caught in the process or trails that would lead back to them pro-investigations by law enforcers, so we can say a sacrosanct entity might be needed so people might have a feeling of always being watched over by a god, its interesting to note that each of these religions have certain rules/commandments for their followers to follow which when compared are somewhat similar, these said commandments are sacred to them because they believed it was passed down by their all powerful god and once broken, you are said to have sinned, hence the facade of an after life where they all are made to answer for their sins, and well even if no man saw you breaking the said law, followers believe their Gods bears witness. This actually checks the excesses of believers (at-least those who believe and not just mere hypocrites). All am trying to say is religion is a way of having the larger percentage of humans in check, so they feel they'd answer to something that isn't man-made, a god, and their creator There is a popular saying; "Being a leader is knowing when to follow the law and when not to" that means, not everyone has the luxury of breaking laws when it only works for a greater good, the majority would abuse the privilege. So yeah, we need religion to keep some people in check. P.S: Am atheist but i don't criticize or judge the theists and others. Cc sonOfLucifer; cloudgoddess; musKeeto; |
sonOfLucifer:no send me yours / dexterouz |
sonOfLucifer:you on chess.com? add me |
Hahahaha |
CaptainJune:I like the way you presented that, but i'd very much prefer you use the the verb Lend, because you are getting it back, so i wont exactly call it a sacrifice. There is no such thing as timed sacrifice. Look at Titanic, lover boy gave up his life so his angel can get a chance at life, now that's a sacrifice; he never got his life back, he gave up his for hers, that's a 'proper' sacrifice, its as simple as that. NB: I'm only rebutting your statement, i am not much of a religious person, but i respect the Christians and sacred views of other religions. |
Ooni:Beg your pardon hombre, am not Yoruba, Igbo or whatever, am Hispanic with Nigerian roots, on a research trip here in Nigeria as well.. I read top dailies on the internet, and if this ludicrous reportage actually happened on the senate floor, am sure i'd be aware of it. |
Lmao, i haven't laughed so hard for so long, where do you guys get these stories from? I have to admit, the fabrications are preposterous, and it's funny some people take them serious. |
If the collected taxes would be judiciously utilized, most Nigerians wouldn't be so disturbed. You all weren't bothered when its Oil money they done steal, now it's yours. |
gentleheart1:Two years ago, i wasn't well acquainted with the Nigerian music scene so you can understand this; there was a time i never believed he was the-same guy who sang Gidi girl and love my baby. |
Pidggin:Where did you get this information? |
Explorers:This would come in handy, can't believe it never occurred to me, would have saved me a lot of redundant repark |
I would advise you to work-out more and check your weight, not because of any man or supposedly figure head fiancee, NO, my advise is for you and your health. One more thing, don't live your life trying to impress anyone, if your so called fiancee can't encourage you to lose weight rather than make you feel bad, you should't be with him. |
slyIsaac:Forced? am not of that impression, its so funny to me. I'd give it 7.5/8 or something |
Anyone here is following the new TV show; Lucifer? its quite hilarious, am not a fan of movies/TV shows, but a colleague had me watch the first episode and am already addicted and enjoying it, its quite hilarious. |
I find it ludicrous the president deemed it necessary to personally voice out his concern on this, but personally turned a blind eye to the fulani herdsmen and the sufferings they leave in their trails. |
Men already have enough to deal with, not to add the grumpiness that comes hat in hand when females are on their period, that wouldn't be pleasant, lol but its a funny thought. |
irunooboo:Because he/she is a lunatic, isn't it obvious? |
How were you able to see the pants? Was he walking around with just his pants? |
OP i see your point here. But may i ask something? if a male undergraduate depends solely on so called 'pocket money' from his parents, why do the female ones feel obliged to have an alternate source of income besides what she got from her own parents? Or females are the only one who aren't content with what they get? You know i found this logic by most Nigeria females warped and ludicrous. And i have come to notice this state of mind is somehow common with you Nigerian girls alone. for pete sake its young people dating why does it have to be always centered around money? why should yall be so slutty? you guys are mostly teenagers/early 20s for pete sake. I believe a relationship shouldn't be a source of income, it should be some mutual emotional development centered around mutual goals and set out future plans. If Nigerian female undergraduates believe a mere relationship makes them qualify to receive salaries from their partners, isn't it safe to call those with that mindset prostitutes? ![]() I was once an undergraduate and i was in different relationships, not in Nigeria obviously and none of them were this way; i got them gifts on special occasions, take them out on other special occasions, but its never about money, it was never a prerequisite, never took care of bills or get vouchers, it was off the table, they all have their parents, and they seem to be content. Its like all that matters to you all is money, money, money, and that's pathetic. |
3rdlegxxx:Couldn't have said it any better hombre. |
3rdlegxxx:Yeah you got that right. I moved my main whatsapp account to my blackberry from my other phone, and with whatsapp planned abandonment of blackberry, I'd simple move it back to my iphone, besides I heard the android version of whatsapp works with the bb10 device, so it's still a win, but under no condition am I trading the blackberry hub/email/calendar off because of whatsapp. Blackberry has come to become my main official device, it's all I need on weekdays and even on weekends to plan the coming week with. |
I have always bn a fan of blackberry, but around 2010 I ditched the device for an iphone, along the line I change phones from android to iphone and used both concurrently at some point. My journey back into blackberry began 4 months ago, i've never used the bb10 before then, I was gifted a bb10 at a function, a Q10, and I have to admit, it's being an amazing experience, especially the blackberry hub?? There is nothing like it. The email and calendar are amazing, blackberry is just what my preferred smartphone is. #Modified Don't get me wrong I love my android and iphone but on a good day am always mobile with the blackberry while leaving the others in the car or office as the case might be, since I can't always work around with three phones. The blackberry has come to be my first choice, whatsapp abandonment is surely a pain in the ars.e but it makes no real difference to me. |
The poor girl shouldn't only be released, the abductors should be prosecuted. That's a crime. |
MsGlobalwonder:Am not quite acquainted with the Nigerian educational system, but don't you feel getting a 5.0 CGPA in UNILAG was also an impossible feat before he broke the record? |
I am almost 6'5, but i prefer average height girls, like 5'5 to 5'9, or anything below 6'0 but taller than 5'5 at-least, nothing less. i wont reject a girl i love and share mutual goals with just because she doesn't meet my preferred range, as that is most important.. its not a prerequisite, just a preference |
kingofchess:Why not get an account on there? I am currently not in the country. |
kingofchess:asked if you have a profile on chess dot com so we can play a couple unrated chess games. |
kingofchess:I never got a response from you... or is it all boast no dust? |
