PTDF doesn't have approved schools in the USA. I have two friends on PTDF OSS scholarships currently in the US. One is at University of Texas at Austin (Top ranked Engineering school), another is at Point Park University (average school). Get into any good school in the US, they will fund it.

Are you keen on studying in USA only? If no, then why don't you apply to Canadian Universities? Most Canadian Universities do not require GRE and with your low GRE score, it will still go a long way in strengthening your application. If you have a high CGPA, I feel there is no need for you to retake GRE. The exam is only a part of your application. You can work on other parts like LOR, SOP and co. I got an admission offer with partial funding despite my low exam score (Though, I intend to retake the exam because I want full funding). @Ndawe was also admitted with full funding in two schools despite her low GRE score.

Anyway, you can send a PM to me. I can only support you with the part payment (if you can get someone to pay the rest).

Instead of you guys to use your writing skills to bombard PTDF via Twitter, y'all are here majoring on the minors— on things that can never change, at least in the nearest future. The North will continue to lord it over the South, despite their screaming inefficiencies, because politically they are united. Until the Igbos and Yorubas find a way to get along, this will continue.

Now can we drop this and head to Twitter to bombard PTDF? If a small protest can bring Buhari back to Nigeria, then we shouldn't underestimate the far-reaching impact of a Twitter-domiciled protest.

I don't know whether it was so for the junior staffs, but I can assure everyone that a good number of the senior staffs at the PTDF towers were in office yesterday despite the public holiday. I will reiterate that I don't know any reasons behind the "unprofessional" handling of this year's announcement of award winners, but everything from my short conversation with one of the senior staffs shows that the lists will be released, or perhaps the successful scholars will be contacted any moment from today, running through the week.

PS: Everyone will know their fates before the week runs out according to the most authentic of sources. No insults please, I am only making known to one and all the new information in my hands.

Hi guys, so yesterday I had a conversation with a current grad student in UW Madison and honestly it was so funny I cannot help sharing it.One of the reasons I chose UW Madison as my ambitious school was that while carrying out my research i discovered it was a predominantly white school and they were working towards diversifying their campus. I felt that would work in my favor being a black woman , they also made mention of the criteria for admitting international students by their countries' GPA equivalent and Nigeria's was a 3.6/5 and they consider the last two years of study too, It was looking perfect. This grad student is currently a beneficiary of the diversity scholarship, He's Hispanic,He practically advised me to not apply to UW Madison, He told me that over 75% of the student body is white and in Engineering specifically i could be the only person of color in a class of 20-25 students. I tried to let him know things like that don't really phase( I mean what is my business if i am the only black person in the whole school sef), He insisted I was going to be in for a very big surprise and he told me that if i eventually go to school there I'll have to assume that every white person is racist to protect myself ( is it really that deep?). I never really considered racism when choosing schools I believe I'll be able to endure anything thrown at me but what do you guys think? Do you think I should actually consider potential racism when considering schools?

You have a stellar GPA. That would amount to Magna cum laude or in some cases Summa Cum laude. No doubt, you will be competitive with your GPA, GRE, internships, etc. Please get solid LORs from your professors and maybe one from where you interned. It's just sad most Nigerian lecturers don't know how to write solid LORs except those that have foreign exposure.

How I wish you could work for McKinsey and the likes for 2-3 years and then give Harvard Business School or Wharton a shot for the MBA. But the path you are taking now is an excellent one. Give it your best shot, you will achieve your goal.

Generally, Finance and Accounting are not classified as STEM but since the one you are applying to is classified STEM, that's great.

Would you like to try MIT's MFin program? You have nothing to lose but you application fee ($90?) but everything to gain if you get in. MIT does need-blind financial aid, meaning their scholarship is not by merit but need-based. So if you are good enough to get in, you are definitely going to go.

I have a friend who got his MBA from SloanMIT almost FOC although he did his BS in the States. It's possible I see him tomorrow so I can ask him more details about it and give updates.

You deserve the best and nothing less.

I'm not applying to the MBA program, I'm applying to Masters in Finance program; I do not have the work exp. required to be effective in an MBA program. The MFin I'm looking at are early careers programs. They do not require any experience; in fact, they require that applicants to have no more than 3 years of work experience.

As per my general profile;
I graduated about 18 months ago.
UG GPA: 4.85/5.00
I've done five finance internships both as an UG and post graduation and will soon complete NYSC. I've also held student leadership positions and I can wait to highlight them on my application.
GRE: 324

The Program I'm applying to are actually STEM-based; they're more "quantitative finance" than "finance".

Today I took the GRE a second time and I'm relieved it's over as I don't intend taking it again.I took the test for the first time July 3rd, I scored 309, 154v 155q,AWA 4.0. I was disappointed to say the least,it felt like all of my efforts were in vain. I put in a lot of work considering my schedule(I'm resident on a construction site and it's very stressful)and it was just a downer. When I left the exam hall that day I knew I wanted to retake the exam but I was thinking of the money I'll have to pay again, luckily for me a friend of mine graciously offered to pay for me( someone I've never met o). So I registered and decided to focus more on practice tests to build my stamina.Today's was significantly more difficult than my last and I can attribute it to my doing better on my first sections than I did during my last attempt. Honestly the second section of my quantitative was difficult, my hands were shaking throughout the whole thing. I was already afraid I was going to score poorly again.My experimental section was verbal too so I had to read those long passages urgggh, I eventually reported my scores( I actually covered my face, I was really nervous) opened it and saw 158v 158Q , while its 4 marks short of my ideal score, I'm just happy it isn't too bad and I can actually put the GRE behind me and move on to the next thing.
This thread really helped me, I got a lot of materials andI was also motivated by the great scores here. Saying a big thank you to rexcheeng for his encouragement too. I'm sorry if my writing is all over the place, I'm just writing as it comes to mind.

Hello, so I've taken my GRE so I think I can ask questions on here now. I wanted ask about the jobs market in Charlotte-Raleigh-Durham area. I'm seriously looking at Duke's Fuqua School of Business and chances for getting employers that could sponsor the H1B.

Also, any thoughts on diversity considerations when schools hand out admissions?

Thank you boss, that's a mistake I also made. I have a research area which I'm passionate about and your suggestion about tier 2 schools and PhD funding is spot on because my friends took advantage of that window of opportunity. I will check out crunchprep to add to my list of schools which I have already selected based on ranking, funding, research fit and mode of transcript submission.

thanks boss, I'm making back up plans for next year, since the admission I got didn't come with funding (although we are still trusting God for PTDF), I just want to know schools with good funding for my course

Nigerians sha. The way some people here reason. Someone is helping you with updates of a test-release date and you find fault in it. Why?

I remembered warning that the immature and impatient attitude on this forum will scare people from sharing valuable information here. Maybe next year scholars will learn from this mistake.

So for as many that will have one issue or the other after the list has been realeased, to the time they conclude their studies; you just lost someone that could save you the stress of unnecessary visits to ptdf office in Abuja.

It's not just him but everyone also harbouring his intentions.
