We wish the 2017/2018 LSS scholars success in their studies. The successful OSS scholars will be contacted tomorrow. All successfuls should fill the form provided honestly and correctly so we can act and plan accordingly.

It is unfortunate I will deactivate my account now. Some of you had complained to PTDF that a staff is on nairaland passing out information. While they were happy, it is not professional as it is the duty of the public department to do that. To hide my personality and my account to be known, I will deactivate my account now.

I just felt I should give information as Nairaland has helped me a lot during my struggles. You don't need to refer me as Sir. I am just like you opportuned to get PTDF job. I hope an official PTDF account will be agreed by management as Npower is here on nairaland.

Before I leave, I will like to thank DMainMan, Dremanuel, madridsta, usqoh, Dennisekendrick, Ellacity, DXXM and many more for all their contributions. Your input has helped the education department as regards the exam flaws which we took into account when shortlisting the successfuls which on the other side delayed the shortlisting process.

For all those giving important information in this forum, thank you for selfless service. We have learnt and hope to make the process efficient next term.

Special Advice Needed!

Someone was saying something about the spring admission cycle getting more funding than the fall admission cycle, how true is this please?

From my research Spring admission deadlines for the schools I have in mind is September 30/October 1st, and I don't think I'm prepared enough to take this test in this short while and financial part inclusive (test fees + application fees).

Since, I would most likely be applying for fall 2018, when do you feel should be the latest time I should take the test, so I can submit my applications early.

Part 2: My gre reading plan has been unbalanced, not until recently. I devoted the past months to quants (the Manhattan 6), what text would you advise I start the verbal with? Still same Manhattan?

I wish to apply for MSc or PhD construction project management (CPM)
I made an unscrupulous mistake by not carrying out adequate research before registering for both the GRE and Toefl exams

I have registered for the GRE exam for 6th of October and Toefl for 23rd of September. I believe with the data I have garnered here that it will be very difficult to get my required score, which is 320 with a months practice.

I have some questions and observations

1. Please can I reschedule my GRE exams til November ending and how much will it cost me?

2. Please which schools will be advisable for CPM either MSc or PhD with partial or full funding?

3. My sister stays in Texas and can accommodate me for the program so schools close to Texas would be an advantage, but other schools are welcomed as I want to apply to 5 schools against fall 2018
. I have already applied for Tamu college station so I need more eligible schools, feasible ones..

4. To be honest I have been bamboozled by the information on this thread. Hence, I beg our bosses in this house to please suggest a chronological approach to studying for the exam. I mean what book or materials to start with first, and accordingly. This is because I believe that some books are fundamental for others. Some you need to understand others

15-year-old Ikeoluwa Abioye has made her parents proud and broken the records yet again after scoring 9 A1s in the 2017 May/June West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

She scored A1 in all the 9 subjects she wrote. The subjects include Maths, English, Further Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Civic, Catering, Biology and ICT.

Abioye didn’t stop there! She also scored an amazing 305 in the last Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Abioye, an indigene of Irepodun Local Council of Osun State, was recently celebrated and honoured by her alma mater, Starfield Schools, Iju, Lagos. She said, if sponsored, she would love to go to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) or Harvard University to study Computer Engineering.

In addition, I also feel personally that over six months is enough for one to improve seriously in one area of study, that is entirely different from what was initially stated in application. This is one of the demerits of having over 6months between application period and test date. Also, some courses/specialization are quite related and one can actually feel a hunch to change on test date given one's improvement in an area over a specific period.

I mean, I for one initially put in for design of rotating machines but after then I got a job that made me seriously improve in the area of fluid mechanics and Computational Fluid dynamics, infact I am on my way to obtaining a certificate in CFD simulations using ANSYS; therefore I felt much more confident to answer questions in the area of Fluid mechanics and energetics. I really pray God's will be done. I did my best. I trust God

We understand your grievances but should we sacrifice Merit and give scholarship to undeserved scholars. We know there were irregularities in the test and more so some scholars chose to write discipline they didn't put in for due to information.

We deviced strategy for the best to be chosen. Additionally, we are working with top-notch schools for our LSS.

PTDF is a privilege not a right but we "paid" to apply. If each and everyone of us didn't, it may be "debateable"

Even lotteries have better transparency than this disgrace.

That people here are challenging status quo doesn't make us less mentally or emotionally stable, and if PTDF management is the best our country has to offer then we are in serious problem.

I'm a bit worried that as a graduate, which I presume you are, you are making a wild claim without any evidence at all. I am a PTDF staff, contractor or affliate lol. You are a funny fellow.

Do you understand the use and need for logic? If you had done a bit of research before your pedestrian outburst you would have been embarrassed at your churlish claim.

I am currently involved in the Twitter campaign. I have said the Twitter campaign should be targeted towards PTDF as they are the ones holding the results. Not Flexisaf. What should Flexisaf do? Beat up PTDF staffs for you or go on strike?

I know the annoyance, believe me I do, but use your brains for once. Not your emotions. Maintain rationality. We should query PTDF, agreed; but do you think insulting PTDF will make them listen to you? Where is that done? You are supposed to be a graduate and not a street urchin. Behave differently.

The role FlexiSAF plays is quite misunderstood. FlexiSAF provides infrastructure to help register candidates for the Scholarship, provide a platform for shortlisting applicants for the Exam and also a platform for taking the exam.
After the exam is concluded, we submit the result to the PTDF which at that point, our job for the Scholarship is kind of done. At this point, all these tasks I have mentioned have been handled by FlexiSAF and have submitted the results.
It would rather be unfair to PTDF and FlexiSAF if you would simply not even place a call to the support line to understand what is happening but rather seem to want to resort to threats to have our way. This is UnNigerian. 07069414970 is the number to call.
PTDF is quite aware of the time applicants have before the admission deadline is closed. No organization would go through all the stress just to give up on releasing the list. Even if you want to use the social media to air our grievances, let us do it in such ways that the PTDF is moved to make the decisions they need to make faster but not through threats.

It's likely early September according to a PTDF source of mine.

You know Nigeria well. I'm not sure why many are here expressing disgust as if this is strange with Nigeria. It isn't. Last minute "arrangement" is going on with that list and don't forget, there are partnerships in Brazil to be sorted.

So I practically did not sleep cos of this issue. I checked schools and their requirements for my preferred program and realized it will be better I take GMAT and not GRE.. Not all schools accept GRE for my course so to avoid stories that touch, I'll just take d GMAT exam. Pls is there a related thread like this for GMAT? If yes, kindly share. I'm available should you know someone who needs a study partner for GMAT against December. Thanks, this thread has been really helpful. Kudos to you all

The statement that the management is out of the country is not completely true. The Executive Secretary 'was' out of the country but came back on Tuesday. He is at the office right now holding a meeting with Nigerian Content Development Fund just after he walks past us to see the Minister of Petroleum Resources off the building.

Like I said, no idea about the list!
