Under inflated tires are more dangerous than over inflated tires.

Its the other way round,under inflated tires worsen ur mpg while overinflated av an increased risk of blowing out...buh then i may be wrong )

It means turn the key to the 'on' position,then off....do it thrice then start the car

I'm really interested in this thread, I just bought a 95 corolla (9ja used) tho engine and tranny are perfect. Other issues have taken up to a 100k

Curious as to ow u racked up that amount seeing as that car has one of the cheapest parts available.

@Mayor thought as much too but they said it just needed flushing so the opened the filter and allowed fuel flow in and poured it off
NB light came back on buh drove anoda 150miles without any symptoms on the way, just got home now and wanna just sort it out once and for all. Wud get the filter changed hopefully convince mum's mech

I have come again sirs,replaced fuel pump on thursday and mum took it out yestide without any problem. Travelled wit the car today and 50miles after, the check light came on and when I got to my destination,found the same code 25-lean air/fuel mixture which I cleared. Would it be right to think of changin fuel filter or assume the pump is at fault again, drove anoda 20miles but no prev symptoms yet and code hasn't come back

That car has bin ever reliable, and drives smoothly for a 21yr old car. Bought 4 years ago and mum can't stop praising its cheap maintenance. Think we would kip it in the family when time comes to upgrade though wud let u know if she changes her mind.

Mum's ever reliable 94 1.8l corolla dx wit auto started aving issues abt a month ago when it suddenly started losing power even wit throttle pressed and then stall leading to repeatedly restarting the car till she got home,symptoms were attributed to bad fuel and injector or nozzle was cleaned wit carb cleaner.
Fastforward monday,got back home and found the check light had bin on for 2wks which the mechos told her to ignore as it meant nofin,bin the diy person I am,went to google and found out ow to decode the light,ended up bin code 25-Air/Fuel Ratio Lean Malfunction. Erased it wit plans to monitor it,was to travel today when the same symptoms started an hour into my journey when it started stalling again in traffic, when u floor the throttle, there wud be little or no response at times and yet when u restart it,wud start and within seconds,same cycle wud restart itself. Her mech says she needs to change the fuel pump(said the fuel filter was ok),I av my doubts so pls advice my ogas or anyfin I can check myself(I be novice buh learn fast)

Sometimes latest doesn't mean better, though it still falls back to personal preference. A 2006 Lexus rx330 is still far better than a 2011 honda crv. Mind u, that Avalon is more or less a Lexus with toyota badge.

I disagree,an 06 Avalon can't stand an '11 accord, that's 5 years in between and besides the Avalon isn't a Lexus and is no where near a lexus,its more or less a bigger camry wit a v6 and a few luxuries. if u want the lexus then go the GS or LS way and I may agree wit u

I have being readin up on torque/horsepower and so many theories buh common to all is d fmr is said to help pull and the latter for attainin max speed buh then again it gets mixed up especially when it involves high-powered cars and ow they become inseperable. Hoping experts would clarify if a more torquey car equates faster car even if it has less hp than a rival, also the pros and cons of a car wit maximum torque at low rpms and one at high rpms and effect on fuel efficiency,city and highway driving

Honda and Toyota both do well in the reliability stakes,just that if I were in ur shoes,I'd pick the more recent Honda to the Avalon since it wud av gone thru less depreciation. Also guessin u a lady and if u wud drive urself, the accord is easier as its smaller in size but if u wud be driven in it,then I can say take the Avalon as it wud be more roomy at the back

Just to add to what Oga Gazzuzz said,its a Toyota and so comes wit the goodies Toyota is associated wit in terms of reliability,durability,longevity buh that's if it has not bin kazeemised by the current owner. Then again u getting a v6 and economical isn't used in the same line wit it though if all u do is highway driving as in interstate travels then it really won't matter compared to if u always stuck in traffic/city driving etc
Then again if I had to get a naija used car,can hardly go wrong wit a Toyota

most Toyota/Lexus safe driving aid system gets disable when anything goes wrong with the vehicle that is sufficient to pop its Christmas light. This has made a lot of people who aren't conversant with their systems to mid diagnose and replace parts which aren't meant to be replaced and in the end, creates a palava for them. Pls, scan for DTC codes and let these codes guide you I. fixing your family friends car, even a simple cylinder misfire or an O2 sensor, or CTS sensor can make the system disable the VSC and VDIM system when the Check engine light pops on whereas, these system aren't faulty in reality they're just disabled.
footnote: the XV40 CAMRY is a very sensitive vehicle which have little tolerance when compared to previous generations of Camrys, and any misdiagnosis or wrong attempt to fix what's not broken will make you regret such moves
