Bettycars:I concur (in Timaya's voice). Meanwhile, I still need the front right ABS sensor. Thanks |
nakoks:I still stand by my choice of word. If you are under the impression that something or someone couldn't deliver on a set expectation (in this case handling and performance because of size), I believe bogus will be undisputedly relevant. |
HeavenlyBang:thanks for the insight mate. I drove a very sporty c280 i6 for two years and felt the E-Class version couldn't be as sporty because of their sizes. |

kingreign:I got a good buyer for it and got this recent lady from a childhood friend who came home last December with the car loaded with goods. Dude told me to drop any amount for it when he was going back after subtly stating he paid 420k for clearing. I eventually dropped 650k with the intention to resell but after knocking it around (unregistered) for a couple of weeks now, I have made up my mind to keep it. I had always seen the E-Class as too bogus from afar but my intimate contact with one is highly refreshing |
Good day house. Please I need a brand new front right ABS sensor for MB E320 2001. Thanks |
Alexgray:thanks for the referral Bros. Appreciate! |
drhappy:Dear all, I just got reliably informed that Smellingmenses is a misbegotten retard and lowlifer who transmuted from Smartchoice (please read as Scruffychoice) and couldn't successfully administer a simple Benz whassap group some few years ago. A typical juvenile adult with an overbloated ego and a failure who singlehanded wrecked the house upon his own head with his high-handedness and encompretic decorticate postures. A fake Lecturer in Ekiti who parades himself on social media as the real deal. I wouldn't have dignified him with a response if I had known he's now hiding behind another moniker. I would have been more circumspect and not waste my time responding to the post of a product of an incestous relationship. This is about the third time he will be calling me out on nairaland under different handles with stately mutism on my own part but his cup is finally full today. |
smellingmenses:I don't engage faceless individuals on social media as a personal policy but since your post is all about an open accusation and malignment of my character, I will go out my way to break my oath and give you the benefit of doubt since you are either talking about the wrong guy or you are on some very cheap hallucinating drugs. Can you kindly shed more lights on where, when and how our paths have crossed to warrant your weighty allegations? I'm sure this forum deserves the nitty gritty. |
Good day to all the Benz aficionados in the house. Please I need the contact(s) of a reliable Benz mechanic for a brother in Lagos (preferably Ladipo, oshodi, isolo, iyana ipaja or Ikotun axis). His C180 doesn't go beyond 30km/hr because of a gear related problem and might not be able to go far. Thanks. |
kingreign:thanks a zillion brah Mike. Ib is cool. Cheers! |
Good day and compliments of the season to all. Please I need new knock sensors and PCV valve for RX300 2002. Kindly link up. Thanks |
kingreign:Finally got it sorted. All set for a long haul tomorrow. Thanks once again for your sensible inputs. If you still get to come around my axis let us hook up for a drink or two. Cheers! |
kingreign:sure. The guy in your link got his issues resolved after trying different sets of batteries. Will try and get another set. Appreciate! |
kingreign:I appreciate your concern and effort bro. My remote has only one button for lock/unlock. I just tried the other procedures in the link you posted with no luck. Thanks |
Yes but that is not the case now. What i have is the red light blinking on cranking. The remote is obviously not working since I can lock and unlock the car with the button on the dashboard. My issue is whether the problem is the remote(does it need recalibration?) or the car's sensor controlled by the remote. |
Dear forumites, I'm having a problem with my 1995 C280's remote key. The remote stopped working and couldn't open the central lock last week. I eventually entered the car through the trunk to open the doors. Now car refuses to start but rolls very well on cranking with associated blinking of the red sensor light on the rearview mirror. I have changed the remote's batteries all to no avail. Please, what could be the issue(s)? Thanks. |
i will go with the mazda. Roomy, comfy, problem free, cheap to maintain, good mpg, sleek, mad A/C, smooth with a better status profile. |
chukel:well, I collected and kept the old radiator at home since it might come in handy one day. Though the new one set me back by about 25k, the peaceful experience now is unquantifiable. Shalom! |
kingreign:Overheating problem solved some few hours ago with replacement of radiator with the triple cells variant. |
Dear Forumites, I'm having overheating issue with my Nissan Xterra 2002 model. Problem started over a month ago when the temperature gauge went north on my way home from work. I quickly parked by the roadside and discovered there was no water in the radiator and I noticed a hissing sound whose source I tried to trace all to no avail. I eventually filled the radiator with water and went home only to discover the water had dried up again. Some few days later the car went off on my wife on her way home. She called and i told her to allow it cool down before adding water when was able to take her home. When i later got home, I discovered the source of the hissing sound was a damaged water hose behind the engine. The holes were now larger and I could see coolant touching the engine giving that sound. I took the vehicle to the mechanic and the cut part was sliced off and the hose was reconnected and coolant added but the car still overheat on my way home. However, there no loss of coolant when I got home. I took the vehicle to another mechanic and he said I should replace the gaskets which I did but the problem persists. Now he is saying I should replace the radiator with a triple cell type because the one in the truck is double cell variant. I'm not sure there is going to be respite, so I told him I will think about it. Please what could be the problem? The truck is very reliable and this is the second time it is giving me headaches since 2014 when I bought it. The initial ish was blocked catalysts which was not discovered on time and vehicle couldnt accelerate. The catalysts were eventually removed and it's been great especially during the rains till now. . Thanks for your help. |
Yes. Just allow it dry up completely before putting it back. There is an abro brand which sells for about N700. |
There is no basis for comparison between the two vehicles. You can't compare a sedan with a SUV simply because the purposes they serve, maintenance, fuel economy and drive patterns are not the same. If you need a sedan, then start thinking corolla, c-class Benz, Altima, Audi A4 or any Mazda in saloon form. However, if your goal is SUV, then Acura MDX, Honda pilot, Nissan xterra or Toyota Highlander of the same year should be the options to Rx. |
TPound:you cannot get an 'unclean' tokunbo Camry orobo (custom duty inclusive which is about N175k) with N600k. Let us stop deceiving ourselves. |
alaskido:you won't see Venza for 6m |
writejhn27:Despite your genuine enquiry, some people are still hell bent on entering one chance. The land borders have not been reopened. Any car coming in from Cotonou can only be SMUGGLED in. QED!!! |
hassrash:i believe i have made my point. it is now up to nairalanders to make their own choices. I was expecting a coherent explanation not some unnecessary chest thumping. You can always drive any car whose duty was already paid before 1st January, 2017 through any border in Nigeria. For you to do custom duty for a car from cotonou today, you must backdate such papers to last year which is no longer possible. The only explanation for the cars you saw passing through the border is , their duties must have been sorted out last year and the dealers are just picking them up because I was part of the last minute rush in December as so many people too. The only option is for you to smuggle it into Nigeria and then claim you have had it before now which is ok but you must tell the owner you are going to SMUGGLE it in (in case you land in trouble because we are talking of millions of nairas here). It is not about what we hear on TV, radio or the internet, you CANNOT legitimately get ANY custom paper for ANY vehicle at cotonou border as things stand now. Stop giving people the impression that it is possible. |
@Hassrass: How is it possible to bring cars in from Cotonou when Federal Government has placed a blanket ban on importation of vehicles through all land borders effective 1st January 2017? The ML you claimed was bought in January from Cotonou with duty paid is not possible with the new government policy. How did you obtain custom papers when the border is closed? If you are still bringing cars in for people, then it is not by any legitimate means. That's smuggling and there cannot be valid custom papers for such. It is better to put all your cards on the table so as to let people make informed choices instead of pretending to be a highly religious individual. |
TSAT:you are going to destroy your car by yourself. Why should you be opening a car's expansion reservoir while the engine is hot or running? You stand the risk of scalding yourself and you are wasting coolants at the same time. Secondly, what do you stand to gain by idling a car for 20 minutes? The best way to warm a car or get it to the optimum operating temperature is to drive it. As for the heavy pedal, i think it is from your own end, benz with heavy engines require extra throttle at take off especially if you have been speeding for a while but comes to a stop and you want to pick up again. All you need to do is depress the pedal a little harder and then ease off a bit. Finally, there is nothing wrong with your thermostat, don't allow any kazeem tamper with it. At 80 degree, your car should even be working suboptimally but i suspect it is because you hardly drive it as stated. Endeavour to take it on a long drive and you will get 87 or even higher |
